My experience with Scott McLeod and Brown Financial was extremely disappointing and upsetting.
My husband and I had a joint investment account that was very important to my financial security. Scott McLeod repeatedly assured me that neither one of us could withdraw the money without the other person's agreement. In fact, on an earlier occasion when money was withdrawn, both of us were required to authorize it. Because I had concerns, I specifically questioned Scott about this and was reassured that the money could not be taken without my agreement.
Despite those assurances, my husband was later allowed to withdraw the money from the account without my knowledge or authorization.
When I questioned Scott about what had happened, I was extremely dissatisfied with his explanation and with the way I was treated. I found him rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Most importantly, what I had repeatedly been told about the protection of this account was not consistent with what was ultimately allowed to happen.
I relied on Scott's assurances. Had I been told that my husband could take the money without my authorization, I would have taken steps to protect myself financially.
Based on my personal experience, I would absolutely NOT recommend Scott McLeod or Brown Financial to anyone. When you entrust someone with your money and your financial security, you need to be able to rely on what you are told. I would strongly urge anyone considering doing business with Scott McLeod or Brown Financial to look elsewhere. I personally would avoid them at all costs. read more
