I asked for a Lion Cut w/Boots and ((Wa-La)) Lil Bits was transformed into "BOOTS" (her Rock N Roll name lol). She was calm and happy an hr later when we picked her up & her cut was "Maaavelous". Amy said she was very well behaved . Her cut is cleanly done & evenly trimmed, not 1 razor burn or problem. I was very pleased with my first experience here- will definitely recommend AMY for grooming . Thanks for doing such an awesome job on this lil sweetie! ------ UPDATE!! Last summer 2019, a different groomer had taken over and she did a terrible job on Lil Bits. As soon as I walked in, the staff helped me right away. Even though there was a short wait (which is totally understandable), it was absolutely worth the 15-30 minute drive. Morty ended up needing another rabies shot, and I was nervous at first, but the doctor was so reassuring and explained everything clearly. They told me that if my pup had any kind of reaction, I could bring him back immediately, and they would take care of him. That gave me so much peace of mind. What surprised me most was the price; coming from Illinois, I expected it to be much higher. When they told me the cost upfront, I honestly thought I had misheard because it was so affordable. They repeated it, and I was shocked in the best way possible. The service, compassion, and value they provide are outstanding. I'm incredibly thankful for the care they gave to Morty and for how professional and kind everyone was. This is not normal behavior and it was incredibly scary. I called the only emergency vet in the QC immediately. When I explained the symptoms, the woman who answered told me there was nothing they could do and that I would need to drive to Cedar Rapids or Des Moines. I asked if she could offer any guidance or insight into what might be happening or how to handle it in the moment, but she was short, dismissive, and didn't provide any meaningful help. I'm left questioning how this qualifies as an emergency service if the response is simply to send people two hours away without offering any support or basic information. It was frustrating and disappointing, especially in a stressful situation. I ended up finding more helpful information and reassurance on my own from Chat GPT within minutes than I received during that call. How incredibly sad when you get more empathy from AI than you do from the "professional" human at the vet? I ultimately determined on my own that it was most likely a focal seizure and that I could monitor him overnight and follow up with his regular vet in the morning. It seems like this is something an emergency veterinary service could have helped assess with a bit more attention, care, and a few additional questions, rather than the dismissive response I received. So just a heads up--this "emergency vet" may decline to see you and your pet and instead direct you to Cedar Rapids or Des Moines, over two hours away, even in an emergency situation. I was on the phone for only a few minutes with no questions answered before they determine they are not willing to see you, which made an already stressful situation feel even more dismissed.
