I can't stop singing the praises of the service I received at BrowGenius!!! First off let me tell you, I have maybe three eyebrow hairs per brow and that's it. Period. Who knew brows made such a difference? First off let me say I researched up a storm, like I was studying for my doctorate dissertation. I yelped, googled, YouTubed, and read everything I could find on microblading/microshading and the pure artistry that is Whitney Moon. Nervously I bit the bullet and went online to book an appointment... and she was booked six weeks out. SIX! I'm an instant gratification dog on a bone when I get an idea, so waiting 6 weeks was torture, but that's a sign of a great business. That's what you want. You don't want a walk in with a Groupon and get browed up type of situation. This is your face y'all. Your face! So I patiently waited 6 weeks. When I arrived Whitney introduced herself then told me to sit down and tell her about my brows. That was easy, I have none so I'm like a blank slate. We talked a while about all things eyebrow and she answered every last question I had all while explaining what was about to go down. She told me microshading would be the way to go for me and secretly I was giddy because in my research I read about the soft and natural look of microshading and when you are going from bald to brow, you need to ramp up naturally. You can't go all Boy George right out of the chute. My brow outline was sketched on my face, free hand. No protractors and all those measuring machines. She's that good to look at you and naturally draw your brows to fit your face. I was amazed. Once I was topically numbed up, the procedure started. Microshading is a machine with tiny needles as a way to apply the pigment like a tattoo. Did it hurt? Kinda. You are cutting skin so there is going to be some pain, but nothing unbearable. In fact, it was oddly relaxing. Whitney told me I may fall asleep and I said no way, I'm high strung so there's no way I can relax like that. Within 15 minutes, covered with a blankie and laying down listening to music and the soft hum of the tattoo machine... I think I dozed off a few times. Fast forward to the end of the process which took exactly 2 hours from walking in to walking out. I'm OCD and nothing can be out of place so I'm a picky client. I was handed a mirror and WOW! I almost didn't recognize myself. Pure genius from the BrowGenius. I thought I may have to call I'm sick to work the next day because I'd look like a swollen clown, but nope, I didn't look bad at all. When I got to the office, I didn't say a word about what I'd had done. Several people complimented my hair, saying it looked good and asking if I got it cut.. nope. They knew I looked different but couldn't figure out that it was my brows. That's how natural I look. When I told them I had my brows microshaded they were all up in my face trying to see what was going on. I am in day 2 and was going to wait a few weeks to write this review, but I can't. I'm that over the moon excited. So excited that I am sharing my before, right after and day 2 pictures. read more
