Without checking with my insurance, she informed me I needed to pay her 30% of the doctor's fee up front. I did not understand why I had to pay a separate fee for the doctor and not just my regular copay for my insurance. She collected $235.00. As I departed, she informed me that no-one ever asks any questions. While still in the parking lot, I called the insurance company who informed me the only fee I was responsible for is the $100 co-pay to the facility for my procedure. I went back up to the office to speak with Maria and she would not see me. When she came out to call a new patient, I asked her if I could talk to her and she asked me about what. I informed her that I wanted to know more about why she charged me $235.00. She said it was "in case my insurance company did not pay them." What!??! That is not what she told me in her office!! I have never had to pay up front in case my insurance company did not pay. The fact that she lied to me in the first place was suspicious. I asked to cancel my appointment and requested a refund. If you go to see this doctor, make sure you don't pay anything up front and that you check with your insurance company as to how much you are supposed to pay. Do not rely on Maria. I wonder where all that money being collected under the guise of the "doctor's fee" is really going.

My husband has a very complex medical history, and Dr. Fernandez has managed him excellently and kept him in good health, despite all his medical problems. His office is very comprehensive, and the staff if very friendly. Because of all of this, his waiting room is usually full and we may have to wait a while to see him, but in our opinion, it is worth the wait.

It is too much. 1) Comprehensive Care Group Of South Florida ILLEGALLY charged me $100 for my telemedicine visit in March of 2020. I told them I should not be paying $100, and the admin team then I cannot see my doctor! I reported this to my insurance and Florida Blue confirmed that I SHOULD not be paying $100 for Telemedicine. I reported this to CCG of South Florida, and the lady from Billing made up some BS reason for why I possibly had to pay that much money. There is NO REASON TO PAY $100 FOR TELEMEDICINE! This is confirmed by my insurance several times, and CCG can see this. The lady from Billing said she will investigate and call me back, but it has been 3 weeks, and no callbacks. 2) TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. You leave an URGENT message with the front desk team to get to your doctor, the message NEVER makes it! NO callback! Ever! Even if you die. Who cares. 3) info@ccgofsouthflorida.com inbox posted and advertised on their website is USELESS. No one ever answers it! Ever. 4) No in-person visits STILL. Seriously? The scary part is that she seemed very puzzled by my reaction to the lack of respect for my time and indifference to getting my condition under control. When I repeated that I was being called into the interview her response was "But I am here now." I don't know if the problem is her indifference or it's the entire practice.
