I haven't had even one drop of water in my basement! ... no more emptying 50- 5 gallon buckets into the slop sink. It's costly, but worth every penny! Back then it was $100.00 per foot! Couldn't take that anymore and called Tom and asked for a solution. In 2 and 1/2 days my crawl space was transformed into a clean space and today it is dry. Fast forward to this weekend. Tom after he and his team transformed my crawl space to clean space in the fall he came out and checked on everything. More often than not, contractors are nightmares. By contrast, Foamco is a dream. Although they're…read morebased over 40 miles away, they came up promptly to view my attic and provide a quote to insulate it with open cell foam. The price was perfect. Any less and I would have been suspicious. Any more and I couldn't have afforded the work. In addition to the price, calculated before the principal left my driveway, they answered a variety of technical questions about alternative approaches, clarified what condition I had to have the space in for the quote to apply, and assured me it would be a complete job. Three weeks later, they arrived as scheduled to an attic stripped of obstructions and old ceiling components. The crew of two proceeded to insulate the entire roof, which has tall peaks, two dormers, deep eaves, high gables, and two large semi-obstructed openings into an adjacent cold attic. By 3PM every surface exposed to the exterior was fully foamed and cut back to the rafter surface, ready for sheetrocking. They sealed the irregular openings into the annex with foamed cardboard panels (one of which is removable for access). It was an amazing one day transformation. I now have a warm, cozy, usable attic instead of a giant heat radiator. I'm pretty sure the job will pay back in about three years, without even accounting for the added usable space. I cannot recommend Foamco highly enough as a contractor that does what they promise and then some. I would absolutely not want to do that work and I admire the employees, Jay and Pablo, for their dedication under very unpleasant conditions. One warning, the scope of building codes has now been extended into anything that affects the building envelope, so with the Foamco rig parked rather obviously in front of the house for less than 3 hours, I got an authoritative knock on the door from the town building inspector, flashing his badge and telling me I needed a permit for insulation. Fortunately, I was totally believable when i told him i had no inkling that such work needed a permit, so he let me pay for it without penalty. Beware the authorities. In my case, foam with a fire spread rating of 25 or less does not require sheetrock or other flame retardant covering.

We had a very disappointing experience with FoamCo…read more We have a waterproofed crawlspace. A lot of cold air was rising from it into our house over the winter. We asked FoamCo how to insulate it to keep our house warmer. They suggested covering the rim joists and ceiling with open cell spray foam. We asked a lot of questions before agreeing to go forward, including these most important two: Will this impact the humidity in the space, after all our work & investment to keep it under control? We were assured that our dehumidifier (which they claimed to be very familiar with, since they sell the same model) would keep our moisture levels steady at 55-65%. Will the bottom of our floor joists be accessible? We have pipes that run along the bottom of the floor joists & we were assured that the floor joists would be only partially covered with the bottoms exposed. The first thing we noticed upon the completion of the work is that the joists & all the pipes are completely covered. This will make any plumbing work that needs to be done in our crawl space much more expensive. We also noticed pretty quickly that the humidity in the crawl space was 70-85%. We asked FoamCo why this was & what we could do about it but they were unable to provide any practical solutions. We had to do our own research to find out that our dehumidifier was not turning on due to the crawl space temperature being below 50 degrees. FoamCo never informed us that our dehumidifier only works in temperatures above 50, despite their claim that they were familiar with this model. Their initial idea was to heat the crawl space, which is both expensive and ridiculous. Later they suggested that we simply wait for temperatures to increase, leaving our crawl space very humid for about half the year. We've reached out to them multiple times to ask for support & request that they fix their mistakes. While they were initially responsive, they have not been able to offer any meaningful solutions. When we pointed out the faults in those solutions, they stopped responding. They've shown us that they don't stand behind their work, don't take care of their customers, & only tell potential customers what they need to make the sale. We're left with extra costs that will follow us for years and a very bad taste in our mouths.

They were the easiest and most helpful company I have ever worked with. From the sales, front office and to the working crew. Everyone was great. The price was on par and even gave me a military discount. They always kept me updated on deliveries and crew arrival. It was a tough job as it was a 2 story house, with a very steep angle roof. EMS re-insulated our attic and sealed some drafts throughout the house. We had some challenges…read morealong the way, but the team was eventually able to resolve them. The work done seems to be very solid as the upstairs is now very warm and the drafts have gone away. However, we didn't solve the initial problem that was discussed. Hopefully all will be resolved in the future.
