When my brother passed, we shopped around at some of the big funeral homes in town. One meeting was…read moreheld with clearly a sales guy, who looked like he wished he were somewhere else. And the tab was very expensive. We went to Summit, and were treated with respect and compassion. There were no extra goodies snuck in, and Derek carefully explained the whole process and answered our questions. In the end, we payed hundreds of dollars less than at one of the biggies, and got actual customer service. Highly recommend Summit for funeral care.

She was given pictures of my husband in his casket she was sent obituary copies she was also given the address, date, and time of his burial which I wanted to be very private. I later learned the funeral home was supposed to persuade me from having my husband cremated which I did have done at another funeral home but he ( the director ) for some odd reason felt the need to remain in close contact with her throughout the entire ordeal. Unless you want ex-husbands, wife's, or any feuding family members to be present at the services I will not use this funeral home .even with you footing the bill they will give the caller on the phone " All " info I was totally disappointed! # Inver grove location

Losing loved ones is never easy so having someone who cares and has great character was very assuring those two times in our life. Paul (and his staff) did an outstanding job with both my Dad and Mom's funeral/celebration services. From start to finish, Paul was kind, comforting, very available and highly attentive. Over the years, I've attended many services at their chapels. I highly recommend them. Paul is a consummate professional. No one better!

During Labor Day weekend this year, I had the incredibly heartbreaking experience of taking my…read morefather off of life support. Soon after, I spoke with my family about next steps, and my brother found Huber Funeral Homes. Of all the places he called, Chad, the program director there, picked up immediately. He said he could meet with us the morning of Labor day (the next day) to review booking a date, pricing, and answer any questions. We had the meeting around 10 am, and he professionally arrived early in a suit. He gave us the information, and we felt comfortable enough to go with him. He also gave us a folder with all the information not only about the funeral, but also about what to do after one loses someone. I appreciated that. The day before the funeral, Huber Funeral Homes coordinated with the hospital (where my father passed), embalmed him, and transported him to their location. We had to think of so much that day; I'm glad they took care of everything. The day and a half I had to organize the funeral, I worked with Chat to have a program printed, and he gave me so much flexibility in getting those materials to him. When I arrived, they already had my father, flowers, and everything else setup. They accommodated us and our request, for a Buddhist funeral, too. After the ceremony and reception, they coordinated a funeral procession to Lakewood Cemetery where they cremated my father. They hired law enforcement to literally stop traffic, for us, as we traveled from Eden Prairie to Minneapolis. I hate the fact I'm writing a review about a Funeral Home, but Huber is a business, with locals working there, too. And they did such a good job that when an awful event like the loss of a loved-one occurs, trust Huber Funeral Homes to help make the worst time in your life a little bit easier.

Throw my name in there too. We have the family plot and the headstone, four names on one. Since this is the East side there is a special area for Orthodox Christians and we all visit once a year for the day of the dead, first Sunday after Easter. There are many Hmong families here, and their headstones are unusual as they are all black and the print is white. There is a handy company across the street that does the headstones. And yes, it's pretty weird to see your name on one. But I'm glad it won't be a burden to our sons. It's not a huge cemetery, so you can't get too lost. Nothing like thinking of death on my birthday.

Beautiful old mausoleums sporting neoclassical columns that speak to the present of times past. Be sure to check out the odd, still phallic-looking stele that closely resembles a circumcised penis. It's near the fire fighters' memorial. An unleashed pitbull accosted me here, running at full-tilt with his ears back. But he was friendly, warm, and alive. To stroll here is to be reminded that we spend the vast certitude of existence as but a memory of the living if we are remembered at all. One wonders what tales the dead here have to tell about our city, when their spirits ascend their tombs in the still of night within this city of their own. A half block to the east of this venerable burial ground lies the entrance to the stunning Gateway Bike Trail, an 18 mile paved rail trail that takes one from the gang graffitied ghettos of St. Paul's north end to bucolic farmlands and small forests at the Stillwater terminus.
