They sold a…read morepoorly broken 6yo horse that has trust and sensitivity issues to an inexperienced 12 year old for $6000. They advertised the horse as a capable dressage and pony club mount.. The horse has zero training, throws it's head, is completely unbalanced and under muscled. I am an experienced horsewoman and 5 minutes into trying to lunge this horse (apparently it wasn't trained to lunge at all) it nearly kicked me in the head twice! This horse is completely un safe for a beginner! Additionally they lied about the horses past (it was a dogger horse) and breed. The horse also came sore and after a chiropractors assessment it was found to have back soreness from being ridden in an ill fitting saddle and was completely out in the front end. These people completely took advantage of a child excited to get her first horse! now she either has to sell the horse or have it completely re broken and schooled! I am disgusted at the blatant dishonesty and disregard for the safety of their clients! shame on you hooves up!

After riding for about 13 years before trying this place, I had a lot of love for my old school and had pretty high expectations as a result. I'm glad to say that Wattle Creek is a delight for anyone who loves horse riding and dealing with horses in any capacity. Wattle Creek runs itself so professionally, and I say that having seen some pretty lax conditions in other equine centres. The horses are well kept and obviously well loved, and your steed is tacked up and ready to go when you arrive for your lesson. Lessons are expensive, but that's an industry standard, not a characteristic individual to Wattle Creek. You can choose from half hour, 45 minute, and hour-long individually coached lessons. Wattle Creek runs an examination of your skills before putting you into beginner, intermediate, or advanced riding ability and assigns you a coach depending on your skill level. When I did lessons here I learnt to sharpen my dressage skills and had a lot more opportunities for jumping than anywhere else I've been to, which was a massive highlight for me because I love jumping more than any other discipline. Wattle Creek also runs holiday programs and term lessons to give students a hands-on approach to caring for horses, which includes riding lessons, horse care, and stable management, and ends with a gymkhana for some competitive fun. Wattle Creek has outdoor arenas and a larger paddock set up for jumping. They have a variety of horses for every skill level, age, and height and they send out a newsletter of all their latest activities. You can also buy gift vouchers for people who want to take lessons. Wattle Creek also has an equestrian centre, which focuses more on elite training, qualifications, and riding skills. Lessons run from as early as 6am to as late as 7pm. There is parking on site.

No communication and very low care factor. Mix ups with instructors, and lesson times. No responsibility taken, not even a simple sorry when things were stuffed up. So dissapointed. The horses seem well looked after and Lynette, who runs the show, is friendly and helpful. For people just starting out, there is a deal of 3 weekly lessons at a reduced rate to help get a feel for the place at with lighter financial burden. The facilities are good and the instructors competent. Well worth a look for horsey types.

It's situated very near the major motorway network, with the Ipswich, Gateway and Logan Motorways, and Centenary Highway, all close by. Before I continue, I need anyone reading this to know that I am no spring chicken. I am more the old boiler of the students ... For some time, my then eleven-year-old daughter pestered me to take her to riding lessons, so, in March 2012, I let her attend the school holiday program at Forest Lake Riding School. After that, she attended fortnightly lessons. After a while, I began to think that I'd like to try it. So, for six months, I too had fortnightly lessons. In February of this year, I found I'd become so passionate about riding, that I began taking weekly lessons, and have continued since. My daughter has continued her fortnightly lessons. If I'm to say anything about the quality of the school, I have to reveal my age and riding experience when I started. I was sixty when I began my equine journey in April/May last year. I had attended a riding ranch for one week fifty years before. In other words, I was basically a geriatric beginner. I've now had something like forty lessons. I can sit-trot and canter comfortably. If my style is not perfect, it is through no fault of the instruction I've received. Because of the quality of the instruction, I can handle small (40-centimetre) jumps and know a lot about the requirements of Dressage. I am afraid of no horse. I have gained a level of fitness that belies my years. That should tell you that this is a wonderful riding school. If a green sixty-year-old can learn from scratch, because of the skill of the teachers, then anyone can. The school has an amiable atmosphere where everyone treats everyone else as part of one big family. Family get-togethers and barbeques are an integral part of the package. A number of the adult students got together to form a trail-riding group. There are about fifteen in it and, so far, members of the group have been on four trail rides. When the school introduces trail riding, we will attend that as well. As part of the school's extra-curricular activity, many of us have attended several campdrafting school programs with one of Australia's foremost campdrafters. If you have no idea what campdrafting is, I suggest you google it. The school also has Fun Days in which the students compete in disciplines such as Dressage and Show Jumping. These are a hoot for students, teachers and families alike. I love this school. I love the teachers. I love the horses. I love my fellow students. It's great.
