Prior to high school, I was an MPS, and then a WAWM public school student. DSHA is such a positive world of difference compared to public schools. The teachers at DSHA truly care about the girls, ALL of the girls. They expect excellence because they know you are capable of excellence. They truly care, and want to see you do well. This is not just a "paycheck" for them. The academics are stellar with an abundance of AP courses offered. How many high schools can say not only did 100% of students graduate, but were ALSO accepted into 4-year universities? Very few. DSHA has a fantastic athletic program as well with quite a few championships. Many athletes are student scholars. Lastly, DSHA is a school centered around the Catholic faith with theology classes, retreats, and service opportunities. A student does not have to be Catholic though to attend as there are students of Jewish, Muslim, and Protestant faiths. DSHA transforms girls in to strong, confident, well-rounded, educated young ladies ready to take on the world! A DSHA grad is a force to be reckoned with. Please do not take my word for it though. My advice would be to add this to your calendar from their Facebook page for next year if you're not already coming out today. Ends at 4 PM and pictures do not do justice. Specialty food items found in the cafeteria and throughout including Simmas famous cheesecake! Advice is to arrive before doors open as parking is at a premium but there is a shuttle for overflow as well. Specialty and one-of-a-kind items and we always spend a little more than we planned. And hands hurting with heavy packages on the way back to the car. Bring some cash as not all vendors take credit cards or checks.

Gorgeous property just on the outskirts of Milwaukee before you get to Tosa and Brookfield…read more Sprawled across several acres smack dab in the city this facility is going through a morph of being upgraded to a modern day facility. I've had the pleasure of working here for the last couple years and been a part of the revitalization of the older buildings around this campus. Football fields, soccer areas, school campus and buildings litter this spot and make for one solid scape of a school structure. In the summer it's a nice walk around the neighborhood that surrounds this spans. Just an all-around pleasure to see the maintenance on this classic spans of area on the edge of Milwaukee proper.

This is for the CHURCH, not the school…read more Pastor Wayne Van Gelderen, Jr. is an awesome local BAPTIST church preacher in the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church history. His late father devoted his life to the fundamentalist BAPTIST Cause. I am more worldly than they would, God bless them, permit in their members. Yet his dear wife, might have been Pastor Wayne or one of his two evangelist brothers who made the marvelous point, if some of your church members attire doesn't bother you, you're not evangelizing enough. Led my first lady to the LORD biblically here. Will see them all in heaven. LOVE this church, its preaching (it challenges you, right?) and the godly wonderful music. Plenty of free parking. Note: In the wintertime when it's snowing, no worries. That's normal around here. The church's menfolk will have been snow blowing and shoveling out the parking lot. You'll can still go to church here with snow on the ground. The church will be open. Not MANY yelpers will love it here. But just a few will. God bless you.

I did my student teaching partially at this school. I taught German to 3-4 graders and got to work…read morewith four different teachers and a few other assistant staff in the rooms. Teachers here are so excellent. I was very impressed by their professionalism, care, and dedication to their work. Definitely an excellent neighborhood school.
