We had a voucher for Afternoon Tea, and decided to make a stay of it by staying over for the night…read moretoo. The Afternoon Tea was nice, but not quite at the quality I would've hoped for. You were offered "tea or coffee" but with no choices of tea blend etc, so what came out was a teapot made with teabags (PG Tips judging from the tea elsewhere in the hotel), but that was no dealbreaker, just surprising. The sandwiches were ok, but nothing overwhelming, and on cheap thin bread. The scones were really delicious, I just wish they were bigger, or there were a few more of them. The cakes were pleasant, if a little dry. The posset (after we worked out what it was... we thought it was a subtle strawberry mousse) was pleasant. Afternoon Tea was served in a pair of beautiful Victorian reception rooms, but the musical accompaniment was odd... Walkin' On Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves, and a few other pop hits. Also a chamberpot was placed by the fireplace... so I'd assume the staff weren't familiar with what a chamberpot actually is! So overall not bad, but not great. However, the hotel part of our stay was wonderful! Yes it's a bit of a pricy stay, but as a one off, it really was a lovely luxurious treat! We stayed in the Serenity Spa room, which had a lovely comfortable king sized bed, ensuite, conservatory, and an outdoor sauna and hot tub in a secluded yard just for our room. The hot tub was lovely, we really enjoyed that, but we couldn't get the sauna to work. Also the shower in the ensuite was one of those all singing all dancing numbers with jets and sprays and waterfalls and allsorts. Very nice! The en-suite was modern and spacious, which was very nice, and in contrast to the main room itself which was Victorian elegance with chandeliers and high ceilings. The furnishings were warm rich colours, and although we thought the bed looked like it had a bit of a dip in it at first, it turned out to be veeeeery comfortable! It's a shame there was no plug near the bed, but there were others throughout the room and conservatory. The addition of a free-to-use mini fridge, bathrobes and slippers were nice too. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, both the continental and the full Yorkshire that we opted for. The grounds of the hotel are truly stunning, real Victorian English country gardens with winding paths and quiet seating areas, with some of the most beautiful views you'll ever see. Parking was free and roomy (we saw 7 cars parked there at one point with no major squashing). It's also within just a few minutes walk of the main village and street. If I had the money, I'd happily stay here again.

A rare five star rating but, from start to finish, the Old White Lion was a class act. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with ours overlooking the cobbled main street down the hill. Our breakfast was excellent, as was all the food. With essentially a gourmet restaurant and a gastropub at the bottom of the stairs, there really was no reason to go elsewhere in the evenings. Seriously, try the 3ft of Cumberland Sausage prepare to head to sausage heaven. Within Haworth, it is perfectly situated. You're a minute's walk away from the Bronte Museum, at the top end of Main Street with its tea rooms and shops and about five minutes walk from the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. If you want to hike on the moors, out to Top Withens and the like, this is a perfect spot. With the free car parking, either on-site or in the nearby Changegate car park (don't forget your permit!), you're also straight onto the main roads out of Haworth. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, this place is fantastic.

They offer free parking which is a huge bonus for this tiny village! The restaurant and food is absolutely delicious! The best food we had in the entire village was here. Breakfast is included and it's again delicious! The view from my window of the countryside was absolutely devine. Though the rooms are small they are very clean, the bathrooms are very clean. My only comments were the kettle in my room was dirty inside so I didn't use it. The toilet paper has no holder so I wasn't sure if I wanted to hold the toilet paper which the previous person was holding. The old fashioned keys require you to lock each time you leave and enter the room. Also there isn't a dedicated space to hold your luggage should you want to visit the town after you check out but luckily we had a car to put our luggage in. Everything else was perfect!

We had the most AMAZING three nights here at the Old Silent Inn, and anyone who wants to explore…read moreBronte Country, I will highly highly recommend that they stay here. It is an experience unparalleled to any that we've had while traveling across England! Firstly, the food is THE BEST british food I've ever had since moving to the UK 6 months ago. I did not know that British food could taste so good!!! During the 3 nights, we ate dinner and breakfast here every single night and always ordered 3 entrees to split between the two of us because the food was just so good. The chef here is SPECTACULAR!!! Their gravy is made from scratch (and therefore gluten free) and even though I'm not normally a fan of sausages as they tend to be over-processed mystery meat, the sausages here were mouth watering! And the meat is all locally sourced. The chicken with cream sauce... unlike anything I've ever had! I ordered that dish ever single night! And my boyfriend who loves pork belly said their crispy pork belly was heart-stoppingly delicious. Luckily we live so far away from Haworth or else we would come here for every meal and definitely go broke! Even though their entrees are definitely fairly priced, averaging about £9-11. The classic british food here is just incomparable to anywhere else we've eaten. We stayed here while there was a deal happening for accommodations, and it was £35 a night. I have yet to find such a great price for Inns around England, for such an amazing quality place! The room was nice and large, and had its own fireplace. I felt like I was literally living in a Bronte novel. We had a wonderful view of the road and the countryside, and even left little biscuits for us! The experience was unreal! There is also a bar downstairs and the prices run a little higher than the average bar, but there are more than enough pubs in Haworth city center and the Wuthering Heights pub just 10 minutes walking distance to get your fill of alcohol. But the food and hospitality is unbeatable! A full english breakfast is also included every morning of the stay, and everything was DELICIOUS. this was basically a dream countryside vacation! The Old Silent is located about 1.5 miles away from city center in the middle of the countryside, so you really do feel like you have completely escaped from the mass majority of civilization. It is an easy access to the Bronte hiking trail, as well as a short bus ride (if you don't feel like walking) to the Bronte Parish in Haworth center. The Old Silent Inn is purported to be haunted, and if you ask the staff they will give you more information about it. There are also plaques all along the walls that give little details of sightings. However, during our entire 3 night stay I happened to escape anything paranormal even though I was slightly spooked the entire time! This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and I will definitely be coming back here to stay and EAT again and again!!!
