Hostess did so much to make our stay comfortable, including parking her car out front to stake us a parking space for arrival on a narrow crowded street. Gave us a lot of helpful info on where to eat dinner, visiting the castle that is main attraction, and getting around & into the nearby park. Breakfast was extensive, well prepared & generous. Highly recommended, if/when we return we would definitely stay here again.

But I doubt it. Bathrooms are new, contemporary and sparkling clean white. Beds are comfortable feather types. Breakfast? You want it, you get it. Gert goes out of his way to do and/or give you anything you want. Welsh fry up? Bacon, rashers, chipolatas (breakfast sausages)? Indeed. All you can eat. Healthy porridge or brand cereal...with non-fat milk? Yep. Fruit? Organic, lots of them. Toast? Jam? Fresh creamery butter? It's there before you can even ask. 8 different types of bread/toast, plus muffins, croissants, etc. Only downside was iffy Wifi which seemed to be rampant in Wales, most of the UK and Northern Europe. Definitely the best spot I stayed at while traveling through N. mainland Europe over a month - and the only B&B during that time. If asked "if", I'd resound with a "when". Definitely on my list of accommodation return stays.
Wow. Charming, clean, gentile host - fav B&B in Wales thus far.
Walk-in shower, all new, modern construction in white marble.

We stayed in a cottage that comfortably slept three (and maybe four if two are children) for £300 for three nights. It was clean, with a huge bathroom (towels, etc, supplied), fully equipped kitchen (even milk, eggs, butter and bread were provided upon arrival for that first breakfast) and outside seating. The cottages are located a couple of miles from the village centre and there is access to endless walking trails a short walk from the front door. There are also a couple of restaurants and pubs all located within walking distance (but far enough not to disturb the peace of the place). The lovely horses in the pasture right across the cottage and the nesting pair of hawks were our only noisy neighbors. The only thing I didn't like was the 10am checkout.
When you are in Wales ...there is nothing to do but enjoy the beautiful scenery...take that away…read moredue to nasty weather, and you will struggle to find ways to entertain yourself. Luckily I heard of this place. Situated near Llandberis and down a long windy 5 mph road is this gorgeous farm house. Strangely enough their website is poor..yes we know it's a place to stay..but did you know that anyone can pay £8 to use the sauna and pool? Or even better £19.95 to use the pool, sauna AND enjoy a two course meal after? So we arrived around 11am while the kids were off school and was greeted by the lovely receptionist who id spoken to via the phone previously. After checking in, we were provided towels and directions how to reach the pool. The changing rooms were TINY..one small cubicle, a sink and a fold down baby chance unit..stalk like I had to balance on one leg to undress while trying to remove my knickers..without dropping my clothes on the sodden floor!! Annoyance cast aside we went to the sauna while the pool quietened down . Both sauna and pool were not the largest but did the job. After RE dressing we walked into the restaurant where we were informed it was busy. Graciously a waiter led us to a quiet conservatory where we could eat privately. The menu consisted of veggie risottos, steaks, seafood and other posh pub grub. We all chose the eggs Benedict with smoked haddock for starters, for mains I had the seafood tagliatelle , while my mom and sis chose the fish and chips. The starter arrived promptly, well seasoned cooked and perfect presentation...but we were left for awhile afterwards , no one checked about our situation or our meal.. Mains arrived in good proportion, however mine was very weighed down with mayonnaise like sauce..the girls enjoyed their hand cooked chips and lightly battered fish . Overall for £20 each for a swim, sauna, and two course meal I find this ideal. But why not advertise this on their website?? Also they need to increase their changing room size..and slightly modernise it all.

In general the building seems well maintained, but some of the public areas were being patched and re-painted whilst I was there. My room was spacious and comfortable with free DVD movie rental which is a nice touch. The cooked breakfast was better than most, although 3 staff members were chatting loudly by the entrance which is unacceptable at the level they are trying to pitch, although the rest of the time they were generally very good. Bar snacks are good, but the food and drinks are relatively expensive: expect dinner in the restaurant to cost £30+ per head. Overall though I'd return: especially if I wanted a quiet nice weekend away with a friend. It is a lovely quiet, calm rural location.

It's blocked by trees. It sounds idyllic, but it's not. The proprietors are nice, but I get the sense that this place is not very busy because nothing is upgraded at all. Towels are thin and old. The cold breakfast consists of low quality items. I wish there had been reviews. This is one to avoid.

Originally a manor house and farm buildings built in the early part of the 19th century - they are set around a pretty, gravelled courtyard. Ty Mawr, the Manor House (which sleeps 18) is grand and spacious whereas the cottages are more rustic and cosy sleeping between 2-8 people. It really was the perfect place for a wedding, as the huge gardens easily accommodated a large tepee where the reception was held. The weather was glorious for the entire weekend, so the ceremony itself was held on the lawn in front of the Manor House and then drinks were served in the courtyard whilst photos were being taken. It was fantastic to have a self-contained large space to celebrate well into the night/morning. Most of the cottages have their own private gardens but there are also the woods to explore and a large trampoline (yes, we went on that after quite a few beers). Their land spreads to some six acres in total, including a tennis court. The local pebble beaches are only a short walk and quaint Beaumaris town is just over two miles away. There are a number of good cafes, restaurants and pubs here. We couldn't get over how truly gorgeous this place was; we're hoping their wedding anniversary parties will return here!

A load of holiday cottages all surrounding a main house - it's the perfect place to hold a big celebration, wedding etc and with us and a load of others taking over the whole compound for 4 days it really felt great to be in such an enclosed but spacious place. The ceremony took place around the back of the house, the garden had a large enough area for a giant tipi taking over 100 guests and the front was great for a reception. Lovely fauna and foliage - this place was the great and we even got some sun - nice work James ;-) A 5 min drive from Beaumaris, probably a lot longer to walk up and down hill - a real hidden gem and with it only being 2 hours drive from Manchester is perfect for a weekend or longer away!

Over the past few years we have travelled extensively in North, Central & South America, Europe, North & South Africa & many parts of South East Asia. They'll recommend walks or hikes nearby, tell you how to do it the easy way, and they make a tasty breakfast. (Say yes to the local bacon) There are plenty of spots to hang out in the house besides your room, if you find yourself needing to wait out a spot of rain. Plus, it's very eco-friendly! They have a greywater system for the garden, they'd just had 21 days of heating the water for the house with solar &/or wood. Fairtrade & local are their monikers too. But they don't beat you over the head with it, you have to ask to find out that's what they do. I think this a lovely part of Snowdonia to visit, because it's not as well known. But you can hike for seven miles out behind the house before you hit another house, and you won't find super-busy trails full of other hikers. Big bonus in my book.
