I missed the text message from my mom telling me that my Grandpa Bob had died two years ago. My aunt had been concerned after she'd not heard back from him earlier that day, and by the time of my evening class for grad school, he'd passed peacefully in his house. Living in town, it meant that by the next day, my parents, my cousins, my sister, and my aunt and uncle were all assembled at his house, all scared. Through fatigue and sadness that damped the air, we all wondered what would happen next. Some of us wondered if we'd see our other aunt and uncle. Part of me wishes we didn't knowing now what I do now. About a year ago, my uncle -- or perhaps my aunt Anne through my uncle's phone -- texted my dad his desires to drain the complete estate dry through a drawn out legal battle with Cheryl and my dad. We don't know why they did, other then perhaps maybe feeling ever-so-slightly slighted that they couldn't refinish their kitchen sooner. Brogan & Yonkers ensured that my grandfather's estate was executed in accordance with the trust and his wishes. They ensured that they weren't able to abuse the clauses contained in it to try to draw out a legal battle. They will never undo the misery of knowing just how little the duo I used to consider my uncle and aunt think of us, of course, but if Scot cared, maybe I would've met him more than once in my life. They greeted me, however, with a smile and with respect every time that i knocked on their door with questions, concerns, or more paperwork to drop off, and they treated my family with more dignity and respect than Scot's lawyer (who continues still to misspell my name) did. This should've all been over a year ago, but even though it isn't, you've ensured a great value within the work you've done for my aunt and my family as a result: something to at least offset the pain of losing a man I respected so greatly. read more

Attorney John Yonkers does not follow the law! My sister-in-law was named the executor of my father-in-law's estate in August of 2023. My husband and daughter (for whom I have durable power of attorney for all financial matters) have repeatedly asked for information about the assets and liabilities of the trust for the past 11 months, and no substantive information has been provided. The trust documents stipulate that at the 6 month mark after the passing of my father-in-law, a full accounting of assets and liabilities to date would be provided, and that was due in February, and we never received anything. It is now July 22, 2024, almost 11 months since the passing of my beloved father-in-law, and John and his client Cheryl Cowell are still withholding information. We have asked for banks statements and they have repeatedly not provided this information. We have also asked for itemized receipts for ALL expenses, and this has also not been provided. The family home was sold last week, and we have no details. John does not follow Michigan Trust Law. Steer clear of this shyster! read more

When I told them I only need to review and clarify items, they said the best they could do was recommended other attorneys. read more
