Yup, this is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Copenhagen!…read more I will try to keep this short and sweet, because if I start raving on, there's probably no stopping me. I've lived in New Orleans for a while, and I've been on the lookout for a place with great Southern food (House of Souls is another great address for that, btw), and I'm so, so glad that Alabama Social is here to fulfill all my cravings for hot wings, jerk chicken, and cornbread! The hot wings definitely deserve a special shout-out; as do the fries, which are just perfection, served with creole mayo. Their menu changes regularly, and they're recently started serving Po' Boy sandwiches for lunch, which I'm eager to try. Staff has always been friendly and attentive, and I'm personally a huge fan of both the location by the lakes and the interior with dark wood and open kitchen. Bottom line is, I cannot recommend this place enough, and I wish I could eat there every day (and not get fat)!

My wife's colleague suggested we try this place. Why would Americans go to an American restaurant…read morein Denmark? Because it is good. We ordered three course tasting menus, getting six different items between us: a biscuit with pulled pork and a biscuit with pulled beef for appetizers, brisket and baby back ribs for entrees along with sides that included French fries, slaw, and cornbread, chocolate and coconut sundae for dessert as well as a butterscotch pie. I also got a drink called a Harley Davidson which is their take on an old fashioned. The biscuits were smaller than a good ol American buttermilk biscuit, but stood up nicely to the pork and beef. The pork had a nice texture and a tasty Asian slaw, but there was way too much mayonnaise on top. The beef was also a nice texture but I was missing bbq sauce. The brisket entree was a small portion of tender beef topped with onions and some herbs. It wasn't quite bbq, almost more like corned beef. The ribs were charred and spicy. The overall texture and flavor was similar to Chinese spare ribs in some ways. The portion was rather generous compared to the brisket. The side dishes really stole the show. The corn bread was spot on and the accompanying sweet and spicy butter brought it to a new level. The French fries had a good texture and weren't over salted. The slaw was not mayonnaisey. It was an Asian style slaw with a light dressing. My wife asked for an extra order to go she liked it so much. Dessert was a mixed bag. The chocolate and coconut ice cream sundae was well-composed but a little gun shy on the flavors. The butterscotch pie was actually a salted caramel pie, delicious, with a buttermilk ice cream that wasn't much to my taste. Service was good and friendly. The atmosphere was approachable and unpretentious.

This is a pretty good Hard Rock Cafe - it has an interior design that feels at home in Copenhagen…read moreand still has some of that Hard Rock feel. Service wasn't the best at this location but it was fine, not a serious complaint. As with most Hard Rock's the food was pretty much the same as you would find at other locations. I did like that this seems to be one of the last locations (that I've noticed) with the city written on at least some of the beer glasses which is nice and something I miss from others around the world.

I had tried to stop by for dinner in other places but everything was pretty full (even on a weeknight), so the relative emptiness of this place was what I was looking for...plus I've had good luck in the past with burgers from the various Hard Rocks visited. I got seated right away towards the back. There are a few rock'n'roll memorabilia but nothing to make you want to look too hard. My waiter came soon after. The menu is smaller, with the only thing on it that seemed customized was the 'The Little Mermaid Burger' (213 DKK), described as braised red cabbage, beetroot chips, orange segments, blue cheese, shoestring onions and brown sauce. It came with thick fries. Not much selection on tap, so got the 2nd most popular Danish beer (Turborg Classic for 79 DKK). Learned that I don't like cabbage or beets on my burger. The meat was good and the fries were excellent. It did fill me up which was the point. They do ask for tip on the payment, but the service wasn't good enough to justify the additional charge...total ended up being $45.64 for burger, fries, and a beer...yeah, it's expensive to dine out in Copenhagen. Before leaving, bought a women's classic t-shirt for my wife for $39.85. I did notice that they identify themselves to credit card companies as 'retail' instead of as a restaurant, even for the food portion of my stay.

They really have managed to capture the "grease lightning" feeling without crossing over to be a diner. Feels genuine and thought-through!! The lunch menu looked fantastic and there was many different types of food to choose from, as traditional danish eggcake We had the ceasar salad and for a change there were chunks of fried chicken (with skin) instead of the common skinless fillet. The dressing could have been a real ceasar salad dressing and not seasoned mayonnaise as I believe it was. I love to come back as the service was really good and then I shall try the eggcake and hopefully 5'star it!
