It's a lovely shop with lovely volunteers. Just don't think of working for the comapany. I have a new slogan for them: The British Heart Foundation, Charity with no heart. Now I know what your thinking.Hmmm this person is just a bitter ex-employee. But this is not the case at all. I have never worked for them. However a friend of mine did. She was in the unfortunate position of needing time to take care of her child. When she asked for a couple of days she was told that she could not. And if she did she would be given a warning. Now I can understand if she had done this on other occaisions and was pushing her luck, but this was the first time. In the end she had to leave because there was no other person to look after her child for the couple of days she needed and the BHF did not care enough as an employer. Shame on them. read more

This shop is run by some extremely hard-working volunteers and is definitely worth a look whilst cruising the markets in Saffron Walden. The British Heart foundation charity store makes sure it's clothes and other goods are of an acceptable quality and it's an especially good place to go for coats, accessories and shoes, with the added bonus of helping a worthy cause. The staff are on hand to help you out with any requests and the store is well laid out and organised, considering the massive amount of donations that has to be sorted through daily and presented to the customers. Worth a look for fancy dress outfits too! read more
