Downtown

This hotel had A LOT of pros (and only a few cons), but overall, we had a wonderful stay…read more For starters, it's walking distance to several downtown hotspots. Not once did we feel uneasy (and we live in the Houston area - did a staycation for my husband's birthday). A few years ago, it would be a different story. There are a few homeless in the general area, but they aren't disruptive. We stayed in room 705, complete with a city view. It was quiet and lovely. I wish the rooms had a full-size fridge and cooking area, but for downtown, the suites are just as big as a studio apartment. There's space-themed decor throughout the hotel. I found the valet pricing to be a bit steep, and unfortunately, I have reason to believe two pairs of sunglasses were stolen from my vehicle. (I realize they should have been put in my purse immediately after use, but it slipped my mind, and out of habit, I put them in the console.) Regardless, it's frustrating. It also took 10-15 minutes for valet to pull our car around, so that's something to keep in mind. The evening reception was nice, especially with the two drinks/person/night. We had chips and queso, though they had a few other offerings. Make sure you get the card at the front desk. The front desk staff will also try to sell you on destinations for a cheap rate. I'm not sure when this became a thing, but instead of telling us about the evening reception and breakfast, they tried selling us on a stay in Chicago. I really just wanted to go to our room since I did everything on the app. We also found the breakfast to be worth every penny to stay in this hotel. I can't have gluten, and there isn't any GF bread. I had eggs, potatoes, grits, and coffee. There were cereal, fruit, yogurt, and waffle-making options as well. I appreciated the coffee bar having various syrups. The hotel was extremely accessible for those with disabilities/handicaps. We saw several people in wheelchairs or with assistance. Hearsay on the Green is inside the hotel, and the food is priced well for what you get (and it's excellent). If you DoorDash, the Dasher has to leave your food/items at the front desk. They are not permitted to go up to guest rooms. The rooftop pool and hot tub offer views of the city and Toyota Center (excellent people watching). Overall, I'd stay again (but I'd ensure I brought my cheap sunglasses and not my Maui Jims).

We do conventions twice a year at the George r brown. And really this is the only place to say…read more It's spacious, the beds are comfy, room is always spotless. When we ask they provide a crib for us that they bring up to our room. It's a 3min walk to the convention center. The fridge works a bit too well and freezes my son's milk and our food, which does cayse some waste, they do have a microwave in room which is nice. Couch is a pull out bed if needed. They provide a free breakfast buffet with a omlett bar. Food is always hot and fresh, they have staff manning it and serving it on ur plate to expedite the line amd for sanitation reasons. The eggs could be better they have a chalky taste. But the bacon and potatoes more than make up for that. Staff is always warm and welcoming, making sure everything is OK. There is a reason we keep coming back

The regular rooms are very nice and the room with a enclosed bedroom is even nicer. Very spacious. It's nice to have a door that closes, but this room has two doors, one that takes you through the bathroom and another that takes you directly to the living room. Breakfast in the morning is great. There's a made to order omelet and eggs any way you want station. They do an excellent job. There's also a waffle maker, one is in the shape of Texas. Plus the regular assortment of bread, muffins, bagels, yogurt, fruit & etc. The oatmeal was very good. We also utilized the meeting space for a large day & half meeting, as well as a luncheon party. Both were set up and executed very well. All of the staff was phenomenal. These are the ones I was able to get their names before I left. All of them went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed. My grouo can often be a little bit high maintenance and since we travel a lot we have high expectations but everyone was fantastic. I know we'll br back next year. My spouse and I have stayed at the Embassy Suites Energy Corridor every single anniversary, and…read moreevery year this hotel reminds us exactly why we keep coming back. From the moment we arrive until the moment we check out, we are always treated with genuine warmth, kindness, and care. This year, the service was truly exceptional especially from Zasha Ford. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay felt special, personal, and completely stress-free. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and kindness made us feel valued and appreciated in a way that is rare these days. Zasha is truly a gem, and the hotel is lucky to have her. The entire staff is consistently sweet, helpful, and welcoming. Every interaction from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast team shows how much they care about their guests. Our room was spotless, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the service was flawless right up until checkout. Embassy Suites Energy Corridor has become a tradition for us because it never disappoints. Each anniversary feels memorable thanks to the beautiful suites, great amenities, and the incredible people who work here. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a place that genuinely treats you like family.

Get rid of rude and disrespectful workers in this consulate who tell applicants pure garbage…read more We went to this consulate to apply for my 8-year old Philippine citizen daughter. I am a US citizen and lives in Texas. My daughter lives in the Philippines and waiting to emigrate to join us. I have her passport and birth certificate proving I am his father. The interviewer asked me for a Power of Attorney?!?. So I asked what's the power of Attorney for? He went away from the interview window and grabbed a Power of Attorney form and answered me that since my daughter is already 8 years old and not 6 years old, she now needs to consent to me bringing her to Japan. They are asking me to have my daughter who is a minor to sign a legal document. I asked for the Supervisor, and sure enough, he stood by what the first interviewer asked me - A Power of Attorney signed by my 8-year old daughter consenting. Does this mean in Japan, parents need to furnish a Power of Attorney signed by their minor children as a proof of their consent that they are traveling with their parents. The interviewer and the supervisor of this consulate should be both FIRED!

She is incredibly rude and condescending, which happened before my family begun speaking to her. It seemed as if she was trying to provoke my family to have an excuse to kick us out. This experience is already anxiety inducing because of the steps of the process. She doesn't seem like a good fit to be working a front-facing job greeting people seeing how unwelcoming and insanely rude (unprovoked) she was to us as first-time visitors. She angrily and loudly gave me unsolicited advice about my personal life as my back was turned and walking away. I didn't say anything to her the entire time. It was strange and unnecessary. After getting through that nightmare of a person the experience was good. The employee that actually helped us through the process was a great man, very helpful and friendly. He answered all the questions we had with kindness. He gave us additional information we might be interested in and was very encouraging.

She found pleasure in berating us for not filling out the sign in completely, even though her instructions were ambiguous at best. As we waited she did the same thing to four couples that came in after us. Our German rep was stoic and pretty decent. It would be nice if there were more clear instructions for paperwork. There are so many peculiarities of documentation that we still have to go home and mail some of it, even though we brought as much as we could possibly think of.
