When in Alberta one must indulge in some quality Alberta beef! Picked up some burgers for dinner…read morerecently from this amazing local Calgary butcher shop. Also a bottle of jerk seasoning which at the time of this review remains unopened in my pantry. The burgers were juicy and delish. This is a modern version of an old skool butcher shop where you can get pretty much any cut of meat your heart desires. Definitely carnivore heaven. These local butcher shops used to be on every neighbourhood block one time ago. But with prepackaged mass factory meat they have become a thing of the past. Good eats!

These patties are smaller than the others they have for sale but were perfect for what I needed them for, which was a large family BBQ. 36 patties will run you about $45 from what I remember so they are on the pricier side for 4 oz patties but they were as close to my homemade hand pressed ones that I make. If you are looking for a great tasting lean burger without that gristly fatty mass produced grocery store frozen taste then come here. They also had fresh patties that appeared to have a higher fat content, also had some with bacon and seasoned; personally I like as little extras in my burgers, typically an 80/20 mix and salt and pepper right before grilling. The brisket burger will need to be lightly seasoned before grilling. Saw around 5 guys working behind the counter cutting and wrapping meat like total pros, and the place is impeccably clean, only downside is their website isn't great and there is no product or pricing on it and if you do go in some of the pricing is on the higher end, once the weather warms up I will pop in for a few steaks to try them out.

DISAPPOINTED with the experience last Wednesday August 16th at Pure Country Meats in Strathmore. My…read morefriend and former Walmart coworker who now works there told me to come and see him about some soup bones at 4:30PM at their store. I went in with my wife and asked the manager at the counter for my friend as he was expecting to see me at that time. The manager was annoyed at my inquiry about his employee and said and I QUOTE, "I am not STUPID to call him on the line when he is working!" When I told him that I was only here for some soup bones my friend put aside for me, the manager brudgeningly went to a freezer, pulled out a bag of soup bones, and with an irritated voice, "HERE is the soup bones!" and shoved the bag in my face! I put the bag of soup bones on the counter as I decided to no longer make s purchase and said to the manager, "you should not be so agitated and rough with old clients like me!" and The manager motioned my wife and I with his hands to leave the premises. As we proceeded out the door, I mentioned to the manager that "this is not what I expect from people in our community of Strathmore when we been living here since 1986!" My wife and I were in COMPLETE shock on the manager's mistreatment, disrespect, and verbal abuse and will no longer be patronizing this establishment. Please SHARE and let others know of my TERRIBLE customer experience we got at Pure Country Meat. Save yourself from the abuse, and suggest you go elsewhere!

If you want to know where Jerry and Nancy farm, ask them! They will invite you by. I have yet to take them up on their offer. The price is more than a grocery store, but the convenience of the size of the chicken is worth it. Everything is fresh, you don't always need a pre-order. They have stuff ready to go on delivery day. I happened to try the salmon which was sashimi grade and super delicious from a partner supplier that they buddy up with in Tofino. If less than 5 star rating has you wondering... don't! Help raise their ratings by giving it a try. We might have chicken tonight. It's a great freezer filler, and I love getting their emails that tell me about their upcoming deals. This week they are overloaded with chicken! So you better get some to at least try something a little different on the BBQ this summer!. Thanks Jerry and Nancy for your hospitality, and your amazing meat!

Nestled inside this location is a Starbucks AND they had a hard to find studded lilac cold tumbler my friend has been looking for!!! The main reason for ur visit was to grab lunch in between hockey games. My kiddo was beyond satisfied with the in house fried chicken and momma was happy with the sides - I always love the root veggies and baked beans. We got the family meal and it was more than we could eat - even with a starving hockey player, lol. I'm happy eat in dining was allowed - Freson Brothers dining is always comfortable and easy. I appreciate the self serve water and coffee station. Two thumbs way up! We will definitely be back on our next adventure to Drumheller! (So why 4 stars insured of 5? Grocery prices here are higher than average. So if cost if your biggest concern, I wouldn't pick this as my one stop shop. That being said, they do carry a HUGE variety of options including local, organic, and their house brands).

To top it all off there are unique gift items on display throughout.
