The second time I needed to re-hydrate and took my time to have a look around the store a bit. Basically, they're a convenience store with a little more. They have a grocery selection larger than you would see in a 7-Eleven, but much smaller than in something like a Rabba. There are some hot food options as well as pre-packaged items that you can heat up, canned goods, fruit, cereals, etc.

I've tasted the Spinach, Beef, Chorizo, Chicken - all so good! I really love the Spinach the best! It comes with the chimichurri sauce that's to die for! Carlos, the owner, also sells these empanadas (chimichurri included) via home delivery, free of charge. I usually buy them frozen and bake them in the oven when I'm ready to eat them. For the month of August 2020, Carlos will give you a 10% discount for orders greater than $50! What a deal! Just give him a call and he'll pop by with your order of empanadas.

If you want to know where Jerry and Nancy farm, ask them! They will invite you by. I have yet to take them up on their offer. The price is more than a grocery store, but the convenience of the size of the chicken is worth it. Everything is fresh, you don't always need a pre-order. They have stuff ready to go on delivery day. I happened to try the salmon which was sashimi grade and super delicious from a partner supplier that they buddy up with in Tofino. If less than 5 star rating has you wondering... don't! Help raise their ratings by giving it a try. We might have chicken tonight. It's a great freezer filler, and I love getting their emails that tell me about their upcoming deals. This week they are overloaded with chicken! So you better get some to at least try something a little different on the BBQ this summer!. Thanks Jerry and Nancy for your hospitality, and your amazing meat!

Lil' Truck on the Prairie is everything. I cannot adequately express how enamoured I am with them…read morebut I'll try. We hired Lil' Truck to cater our wedding and they're food was the one thing that kept us from eloping during our wedding planning experience. They hand crafted a menu to suit us specifically and it was the number one thing we bragged about to friends before the event and after. They were able to meet every single dietary restriction but not only that, they did it well. The vegan/vegetarian options were arguably the best on the menu which is rare and hard to accomplish especially when it comes to a big event (and it wasn't pasta!). When I say that I also want to highlight how good their meat mains were too. All the carnivores where just as satisfied as the vegans, which is no small feat. They thought of absolutely everything when planning our wedding and made us feel more like friends than clients. I also appreciated their focus on local and sustainable food sources but while also taking into consideration our (meagre) budget. They made all our food dreams come true. They served our 175 guests cocktail hour, dinner, dessert, AND midnight snack for less per person than an average prime rib dinner. While making each aspect of the event accessable and enjoyable to absolutely all dietary choices, minimizing waste, and focusing on local and sustainable food sources. What more could you possibly ask for?

I will have to update my review once I do. Front-and-center was Flo, who was selling a wide variety of jams and syrups. They were $5 each so I tried two: peach and raspberry mango. Peach could have used a bit more flavour, but the raspberry mango was excellent. I also bought radishes and green onions from some farmers. Both were good. The bulbs on the green onions could double as a weapon against a robber breaking into your house--one knock to the head and he'd be out cold. I hope by late July to come here weekly for some fruit and fresh vegetables, and to get some corn in August and September.
