This is a great place for physical therapy. First and foremost, the physical therapists I've…read moreworked with really know their stuff. I've worked with Stephany mostly, but also had a session with Katie. Their training (MPT, DPT) and experience (24 years for Stephany) enable them to home in surprisingly quickly on causes of pain. My right shoulder has been really hurting after a fall. The usual culprits, muscle trauma and arthritis, are major sources of this pain. But Stephany soon realized that a pinched nerve in my cervical spine is also causing substantial pain. She's given me a menu of stretching and extension exercises that are simple and effective. And after she has worked on--manipulated--my shoulder for a while, I leave PTSMC feeling decidedly better. Katie worked with me one time when Stephany was unavailable. She had thoroughly discussed my problems with Stephany beforehand, and I got the same level of expert therapy guidance from Katie as I had experienced with Stephany. Stephany and Katie are pleasant and patient. Sidney and Sam at the front desk are pleasant and invariably helpful. The studio itself is bright with plenty of outside light streaming in through the windows, well laid out, and clean. After years of physical therapy that was annoying, but necessary, I consider myself very lucky to have come across PTSMC, where I actually look forward to my physical therapy sessions. Five stars and three thumbs up.

Went to LHOA for a broken ankle 12 hours after an ER visit w/x-ray. They did a 2 minute look and…read moreout the door, and the tech comes in an says more x-rays. OK. More x-rays. Then they fitted me for a boot and gave us one that was L for my XS-size foot. Charged me $550 for the boot. Later, at home, and suffering with this anchor on my leg, I looked up replacement boots on Amazon. There is the exact same boot for $69 shipped. So, $481 markup over the Amazon price. That's a 700% markup. You tell me if that's right. So I buy the proper XS-size from Amazon and when I went for my checkup a week later, I tried to return the original boot, telling them that it was misfitted as a L size for my XS leg and it was causing extreme pain and it was their fault. They told me too bad, no refunds. Went through 2 clerks barfing the same predatory nonsense before the office manager came in to tell me to go pound sand. Imagine having a job where your role is to steal from people. So by all means, do go to LHOA if you want MDs that put profit over people. Also, while I was there, Dr. W yelled at 3 techs in the room across from me, telling them, "I have 3 rooms empty, go fill 'em". Because, you know, can't let that money train idle. And finally, when I went to another ortho, Dr. Penny in Torrington, he found that the inside of my tibia had a fracture that LHOA missed. I guess that second and third set of films weren't enough to catch their attention while they were counting their money. But they sure were right on it when it came to jacking me for $481 over the price of that giant boot that we donated to the VA because I heard that Sasquatch was an honorable veteran. LHOA is warehouse medicine at a concierge price. Go see Dr. Penny at Charlotte and see what kind, competent, and human-centered medicine is all about instead of getting treated my MDs who see patients first as profit (gouging) centers. Unbelievable. It's not just insurers ruining medicine.
