The baby clothes all look really cute and stylish, they even had little flat cap hats that were adorable but you have to wonder why someone would spend that much on items that a child will grow out of in a matter of months. My son grew out of his 0-3m clothes in about 6 weeks! There were beautiful little outfits that were £45+ each!! A mere onesie cost £25+... Considering I didn't really want to spend more than £20 my options were very limited. I did end up having a quick look in Mothercare but the style and quality didn't compare. I did find a lovely gift in the end but still came away thinking everything was a bit of a rip off!

Both shops have their advantages, but Ten Tiny Toes I've found to be the best for babies. The helpful staff are (thankfully) at hand to guide you through what the best thing to buy your best friend's baby - what will fit, and what's in your price range. Ten Tiny Toes is fairly expensive (I once bought a raincoat for a friend's child for £25!) so it's probably not suitable for everyday stuff, but their products do make great presents.

With prams, pushcairs and travel systems the main purpose for visits is usually baby transportation shopping! I go to the shop in Westbury Village, and love all the gorgeous clothes and toys there. The price range is varied- you can pick a lovely gift up for 50p or £50 so there's something to suit everyone. They also have very knowledgable staff in both shops and they are always on hand for ideas if I need them. There are always lots of toys out for little ones to play with and they are breast-feeding friendly too! They sell lots of well known children's clothes brands such as Frugi, Kite, Pigeon, Hately, Joules and Blade & Rose, I have bought lots of gorgeous dresses for my daughter and everyone asks where they're from and comments on how lovely they are. We were staying across the street at the Future Inn and on the evening we arrived, we strolled over to take a quick peek at the adventures I would be exploring the next day. Much to my surprise, pleasure and happiness, there was a Pret right there as soon as we walked in! Breakfast at the hotel was on the pricey side so we knew where we'd be coming in the morning and we certainly needed to get fueled up for a day of shopping! CC has lots of high end, brand name stores and with even more shops beyond the boundaries of CC, this made for a lovely day of retail therapy. My poor husband... oh well, at least they had an Apple store for him. ;)

Uncle Sam's has been here for as long as I can remember, and I do quite like it, but despite saying…read morethat, I haven't actually bought anything from here. It is a fairly small shop, a beacon to vintage lovers on Park Street. They sell records, leather wallets, jackets, 80s dresses, cut off levis.. anything vintage that pops in your head, they do have it here. You do have to dig abit to find things though, which just adds to the fun. This is somewhere I always pop by to have a browse, always expecting to find something awesome, but never really do. Maybe that is because the prices are quite steep; rising with the rise of the love of vintage fashion these days.

A classic American vintage sign, a window full of Levis and checked flannel shirts, but it's best not to judge a book by its cover. (Or a vintage clothes store by its window!) I love a bit of a rummage through piles of retro clothing, but the interesting finds here are so few are far between that it doesn't make your wait worth-while. On the whole, I find that men do better here than women with some fantastic leather jackets and belts to be had. Just be prepared to pay a hefty price for some of the better pieces. It's worth a look for die-hard vintage clothes fans, but personally I prefer to save my pennies and go rooting around Bristol's fabulous charity shops. Cheaper, with added feel good factor!
