Pretty damned convenient! His firm is part of the Brown, Justh & Romero group of lawyers. I was a victim of a crime and had several questions regarding liability, negligence and a clear legal perspective of my rights as I do not have a working knowledge of the criminal justice system. Mr Romero spoke with me in detail, answering every question I presented and reviewed several options from tapping into the dead great uncle's trust fund to how to present your evidence 101 for those budget minded folks like myself. I wish I had a trust fund :0( Mr Romero does not work on personal injury cases, but it seems that he does everything else within our friendly community. He could have simply wooshed me from his office within 5 minutes, and referred me to a personal injury attorney--instead he took a half an hour to review my case, clarify my concerns and address my questions. I would have gladly paid his anticipated wage of $210.00 for the legal consultation--and he was kind enough to waive the fee as I had done business with him in the past (living will, power of atty, medical directives). November 14, 2022 is a day I will always remember. . .  My husband, my son, my two dogs and I were…read moreon our way up north to see my mom.  Unfortunately I never made it there.  We were at a stop sign on Bruce Road.  I was in the back seat of our truck and I heard my husband swear just before the impact of being hit from behind.  The impact propelled our truck in the air, we did a 360 and we came down, upside down, in a field.  When I came to, I was hanging upside down from my seat belt.  The dogs, my husband and son had crawled out of the windows in front with the help of those that helped. I struggled with the seat belt and dropped to the top of our vehicle before I was able to get out. Thankfully, after being checked out at the hospital, my husband had the presence of mind to find an attorney--Albrecht Law.  We met with Evan Schneider and Melanie Evans.  My mind was a blur, but I remember feeling welcome. This duo made this life-altering event easier. They gathered as much information as they could, and I continued to live and try to heal.  At this time, we moved out of state where a job was waiting for me.  Every time I had a question, I would contact them and they would respond, calming my anxiety, contact the medical providers (as bills were piling up), and dealing with the insurance companies.  Often they would call me just to check on me. When I realized I had to file for a custody change, I needed to find someone new. Kelso (and his PL Tara) were wonderful. Calm, reassuring, competent, and confident and always in my corner. He waited until he got my money ($14,000 cash in total) and then let me know he was going to drop me as his client right after a court hearing with no warning. His reason? Since I had recently quit a toxic job, he was concerned that I would no longer be able to pay him. The nerve for him to say this after me giving him my life savings to help me get my child back. He told me he would have to file a motion to withdraw as my attorney, and that I had to sign it and agree, otherwise he would "take me on in court and I wouldn't stand a chance against him." I later realized I had the right to not let him withdraw as my attorney at that point, as we were headed for a trial in just a few months, but he lied to me and basically told me I had no choice. Not only this, but he failed in every way possible as my attorney. He did absolutely nothing to help my case. At one point, I kid you not, he referred to himself as a "Ferrari driving you to Vegas that needs to be filled with premium gasoline"....when I asked him why his going rate was $450 an hour when all he did during the time I was with him is play on his tablet, brag about himself, and use AI to write his paperwork in court. He is a complete narcissist and also formerly a judge from California. He decided to become a lawyer just for the money, and it shows. He doesn't care about people, or families, or integrity. Don't be his next victim! Avoid this man like the plague. Camille is cool tho.
