The best prepared squid I've ever had. The linguini was tender and tasted perfect with the prawn and squid. Definitely take the Mrs. here.

Fina Bar & Grill - The Fina dining room

We were offered a Fixed Price menu as well as the Å la Carte, I also noticed on their website that they have a 'Bambini' menu for their younger guests and a lunch menu. We ordered draught Peroni whilst perusing the menus which are quite large. It was noted that we could have ordered EVERYTHING! Finally though we settled on; Ribs in BBQ sauce, Gambaretti, Aubergine Parcel and a Caprese Salad to start followed by a Marinara Pizza, Chicken Rostico, Cod with Chilli & Sesame Crust and a Salmon & Puy Lentil Salad. All of the food was delicious and portions were generous. The ribs for instance could easily have been a main course with a bowl of chips! My nearest and dearest was a little disappointed with the amount of lentils in the Salmon salad but the kitchen quickly provided a small bowl of additional pulses on request. I don't normally order pizza in a restaurant but I was reassured that their pizzas are stone cooked and it was very enjoyable with a good quantity of quality seafood. The banquet was accompanied by a fabulous Pinot Grigio at a reasonable price. I thought it would be rude to order our favourite Chablis in an Italian restaurant - hehe! A thoroughly enjoyable meal was appreciated by all four of us and with our bellies full we headed for Fresh in Wood Street which is fast becoming our favourite bar in town. See my first review of Fresh here - http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/fresh-macclesfield. They also do take-away now. Being a 2 minute drive from home; this could be VERY dangerous!

This is kind of a classic somewhat upmarket suburban Italian restaurant…read more We were initially going to be squeezed between some other tables but requested to be sat by the window instead which was pretty nice. I had scallops to start. They were fine but, I don't know, maybe I should stop ordering scallops. The problem is once you've had really good ones it's never the same and also it's NEVER ENOUGH. That guy had pork spare ribs to start which were enormous. He was basically full after he finished them. He then had an even more enormous calzone, which he said was a bit soggy and struggled to finish. He was fake/not so fake offended by the waiter calling him a 'bambino.' Meanwhile, I got the risotto buongusto because I now automatically order anything involving truffles because of this amazing meal I had once at Salt Yard in London. Predicatably, it was not on that level but fine none the less. Basically does what it says on the tin, and the mains in particular are very reasonably priced.

Authentic Italian with a few specialty items I have never seen on other Italian menus before. They will make your food whoever you want it, you just have to ask. The server was almost insulted to think that we would not order our food the way we would like it. Definitely a gem of a restaurant here in Poynton, a must try.
