This centre, found in Bath Street, plays host to community events including occasional theatre productions and can be rented for many other events. There are also various church/fellowship meetings held here including the Largs Spiritualist Church on Sunday afternoons.
There is disabled access and toilets just inside the entrance. The corridor then opens out into a large hall with an attractive arched ceiling and a basic 'kitchen' at the back where tea and coffee can be made. There are many chairs stacked against the walls which can provide seating for quite a large number of people.
Last year at this time of year (November) there was talk in the local press of closing down its current use, to save money (apparently just £3,700 per year) but, so far, it remains open. I think it's a pleasant and very useful building and it would be a shame to see it close down goodness knows what would happen to it then! read more
