Especially in town like Henley, the outdoors is particularly a nice place to eat. Strada had two options that met out desires, a totally outdoor seating area and also a strip of two person tables against a completely open wall that is similar to eating half inside-half out. We decided on the latter and loved the seating arrangement. The servers here are on point and always ready to tend to needs and inquiries. We wanted some garlic bread to start and they brought out this delicious crust type of garlic bread bake. It was baked with olive oil and was a spectacular take at a bread starter! See pics for a visual. For my main course I got the Ragu Spaghetti which has some meat chunks in it with thick spaghetti noodles. The sauce has accents of wine and tomato and tasted like a classic ragu Italian sauce! My girl got the Rustica pizza which is basically cheese and sausage. That was also quite good, the sausages were very fresh. It oddly wasn't cut and that was left to her doing with the basic knife they supplied. The dishes were around 10 pounds each so that's also quite reasonable. There are some solid Italian options in Henley, but being that this Strada is also attached to the Regal movie theater, this one is great for a dine-dinner date! Get fed.

I have had bolognese here which is okay, but I had a lovely salmon lentil salad dish here a few weeks ago which was quite delicious. In general the pizza is quite dry and not up to Pizza Express standard. In general the service is good and brisk and we don't have any complaints. This is just another in the Pantheon of mediocre restaurants in the centre of Henley.

The place was pretty deserted as the weather was poor, so I would have expected some attention to detail. We ordered the loaded fries, squid and wings - £15 for the three. Squid. Would have worked out at about a quid a ring if ordered alone. Really?! Bland, soggy and anemic- Mum's been to Iceland. Wings. Again would have been about a quid each. Rather than marinated, so seasoning had been vaguely sprinkled near them. Nuclear temperature - almost blasted to death. The loaded fries. Struggle to describe these. Fries are fries and, thankfully, within the ability of the kitchen. The brisket though ..... what the hell was that? A few pieces of what appeared to have been a shoe gone through a threshing machine is probably the most apt description. Had I been blindfolded and asked to name the food item, I would have failed. We arrived hungry and left hungry - just lighter in the wallet. No. We didn't complain, as I drink here regularly and don't need the hassle. However, pro tip - if you're going to compose a first class menu, make sure you got the kitchen to back it first.

I had the steak and frites. Steak was weirdly overcooked in places and undercooked elsewhere. It was tough and tasteless. The chips were OK. My lunch companion enjoyed her Welsh rarebit but that must be quite difficult to get that wrong. Recommend this place for a drink but don't bother eating here.

That area is awash with world-class restaurants owned/run by top-name chefs. We had many opportunities to indulge, but also to gain a better appreciation of blending flavours, food preparation and presentation, service, and, basically, style. It was a pleasure to come to Shaun Dickens' restaurant and experience the same very high quality of service, food, and style as we had over the previous years. Shaun even emailed me prior to our meal to check on our vegetarian preferences, which I had referenced in my reservation. Nice touch. Walking through the door, we were warmly welcomed, ushered to a window-view table, and provided with pre-dinner amuse-bouches, along with a pre-dinner drinks menu. The wine menu showed a broad range of excellent choices from all over the world, which was refreshing compared to the almost all-California wine menu (as you would expect) in San Francisco. Our appetisers and main courses were things of beauty - almost too well presented to want to spoil. But spoil we did, and the fantastic range of flavours left us sated... but still with some room for dessert. A "happy birthday" message was kindly written on to my wife's dessert plate, and we were given after dinner treats along with an extremely reasonable bill. One of the servers, the young lady who presented all the dishes, was extremely professional and polite, clearly mindful of delivering a higher level of dining experience - but by some standards she might want to relax a little. Overall, an excellent choice for a special meal, and we will definitely go back for more.

FIVE GLOWING STARS!…read more Can y'all say top 10 calzone of whole life? I CAN! Zizzi sits nestled at the base of the town center of Henley. It is quite an enormous structure. The seating on the main floor really opens up and the kitchen sits at the back where you can see the oven. The architecture is really pleasant and creative with a warm vibe accented by interesting art and such!!! Zizzi is quite deceptively large in size, there is also a bar upstairs which is quite a huge space. It was closed when I was there, but perhaps it opens at night. Anyways, I freaked out when I saw calzones on the menu, but didn't really see the type I liked. So I asked our waiter and he was glad to make my custom favorite: ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, pepperonis, and tomato sauce. When it landed in front of me I knew it was going to be quality stuff. I sliced and dunked in marinara as piece after piece of the amazing calzone entered my body. I WAS IN HEAVEN. This is a truly top calzone. As I said, top 10 I've ever had and I'm still loving it to this minute. My girlfriend ordered a thin crust pizza called mezzoe-mezzoe. It was very wide and served on a wood block. It also came with a personal Zizzi pizza cutter which we loved because we could cut any size of pieces we wanted!! I got to try it and loved the non-tomato side. Very high quality pizza. No surprise considering the epic calzone. Overall this place had all the small touches I wanted. Great service from a very understanding and nice waiter, amazing environment, and even custom Zizzi high quality silverware from Italy! Zizzi now. Zizzi forever. Calzone zone!!!
