She tells me she likes it there. The staff is very kind and patient. At the nursing station, Richard goes out of his way to make sure she is cared for and happy. Because of some skin wounds, the process of moving her back to the memory care facility was very complex. Thats when the Discharge Coordinator Ginger saved the day by coordinating the complex interactions of the: wound doctor, Medicare, and the memory care facility. She was very kind, diligent, and clever through it all. I am so glad that Isles Nursing has such fine employees. It is a great operation!

This institution deserves only negative comments: all staff members were incredibly insolent, not only to my Mom, but also to me. I had the right, not only as a poa holder, but also as a biology/medical degree to make strong suggestions as to my Mom's care and inform them about previous health information. I was told that " I'm not a doctor". That's when I started to question, if anyone at that place even graduated from high school. The first day- my mom did nothing, and she was there TO BE REHABILITATED, not as a nursing home resident. The second day, they also did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, but I did get a call from the financial dept trying to dearly discuss all possible " what if my mom's insurance runs out". I told them we will be discussing that when we cross that bridge. When I called on Monday, why the hell did my Mom receive any rehab therapy yet ( after being in that hellhole for 5 days already), they said that "students are on spring break "(?!?) What kind of idiotic answer is that? I left a message for the case manager to call me as soon as possible- never received a call back. You cannot get ANYONE on the phone there. Instead of getting better my mom declined, because they ignored my initial request to have my mom on nocturnal bi-pap ( on which SHE DEPENDS) - they told me I'm not a doctor and ignored what I told them to do. My mom was taken at night to the emergency room because she was not able to breathe, had a critical level of oxygen and ACQUIRED COMMUNAL PNEUMONIA !!! If you care at least a little bit about your loved ones, DO NOT allow them to go to this hellhole! The rooms do not have their own bathroom/ showers. You have to beg for everything, even for them to take you to the shower, that is located at the hallway and is shared with all patients! Absolutely disgusting!

My mom also spent time in the Health Center, where she got excellent care.The dining room was festive and enjoyable. I found the food to be very good. The interiors were all redone and decorated beautifully. My only complaint is that the hallways dont have handrails. Some apartments are a long way from the elevators and residents may need to hold onto something for balance and mobility. Many have electric scooters and more have walkers to assist them. Personally, I wouldn't mind living there as well, when the time comes. I miss HE and the wonderful residents I too became friends with over the years.

As her POA I was rarely able to contact either the management or nursing staff. We hired an independent agency to assist with her care. She soon contracted infections that could have been treated, but due, in my estimation, to lack of interest and attention, lack of medical attention, she deteriorated and recently passed. Unfortunately, her dentures were lost on the first night, which created a significant hardship. Without teeth, she was unable to eat most meals, and the puréed food provided was thick and honestly unappetizing. I ended up bringing her soup each evening so she could eat comfortably. What stood out most was the clear difference between what felt like an "A team" and a "B team." When V, Jennifer, and Mark were on duty, my mother was well cared for--knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. Other staff members seemed less experienced and less warm. The facility is clearly understaffed; while some aides were wonderful, others were not particularly kind. Cora was an absolute doll, but she had far too many patients and not enough support. Teri, the concierge, was truly five-star. Any issue we raised was addressed promptly and professionally. The rehab team--both PT and OT--were amazing and are the primary reason we chose this facility in the first place. They exceeded expectations. Areas for improvement include staffing levels, consistency of care, cleanliness, and food quality, which was mediocre overall. With more support and better oversight, this facility has the potential to be much better, especially given how strong some members of the team truly are.

Abby Blacker provided great help in making the process easy. He was welcomed and settled in quickly, While he complained daily to me about the food and maintenance at the other place, he spoke glowingly of everything at Park Summit.
