I graduated from Bright Star back in 2006 and till this very day I remember Ms. Lisa and Ms. Vicky. I remember all the fun times I had coming here and the feeling of safety and security. I think because I had horrible separation anxiety as a child, I remember attending here so vividly and feeling secure(I also have photographic memory) because they made sure to make this place feel like a second home. Based on my personal experience as a young girl, I would recommend many children to have the privilege of attending this preschool. These teachers will treat your children like their own.

Highly recommend this headstart my son Daniel was attending since he was 3 my daughter the same . Both of my kids loved it here it's Soo much fun and at the same time they learn what they need to learn before going to kinder my daughter misses Miss Lisa So so much till this day she does not want to go to her new school. Miss Lisa and miss Vickie are such great and caring teacher and they have so much patience for our kids. They will work with you and if you need something they will also help you out. Since the pandemic happened they managed to keep everything so organized and sanitized. At the end of the year the kids have a little graduation and they all feel so special in some type of way. I highly recommend this place I miss my kids going here. My daughter got so attached to her teacher and she loved going here she would go into school so happy she would forget about me. For the summer they also have water day once a week. Kids love it.Take your kids here you won't regret it I promise!

If you are looking for a preschool that will teach your child social, emotional, academic, and physical skills within an incredibly nurturing and caring environment, then Bright Start Preschool is the school for you! It offers a small student to teacher ratio, with twelve students or so, which is what I preferred. I highly recommend parents to enroll their son/daughter in Bright Start Preschool. I first learned about this wonderful preschool from my cousin who enrolled her son years ago. Upon our family tour in 2019, I loved the school director and teacher, Mrs. Lisa (a.k.a. Elizabeth Reyna Sanchez), right from the start. The school is located in a residential area and the classroom is a home fully redesigned as a complete classroom environment. The yard is a fun spot with little houses, slides, and tricycles for kids to get out their energy and play. During the tour, we were given a thorough explanation of the curriculum provided and the many wonderful subjects that would be taught thematically throughout the year. She gave us the schedule and other valuable handouts in order for us to fully be informed about how Bright Start Preschool functions. I recognized many Lakeshore curriculum materials and that really impressed me. I love the schedule for the day and the structure provided for Circle Time, Group Activities, and the Child Directed and Enhancement Activities (i.e., manipulatives, language, math, cooking, art, and science). I am a former elementary teacher so I know an excellent and prepared educator when I see one. My spouse and I visited several preschools throughout the Valley to make our decision, and we made the right choice. My daughter attended from Sept 2020 to June 2021 and graduated from Preschool on June 11, 2021. Mrs. Lisa and the second teacher, Mrs. Vicki, ran a fantastic program. Student work was displayed everywhere, organized by themes. The classroom was extremely kid-centered and colorfully inviting. Each area of the classroom had a purpose such as where students can read books, where students gather to start the day to review the calendar, several small tables to work, a place to play with toys, and so-forth. One of my favorite parts of the day was that Mrs. Lisa made the time to have students learn the Pledge of Allegiance and recite it to start each day. It gave me so much joy and pride to hear my little girl recite it. I also loved how Mrs. Lisa had activities for Halloween (kids got to dress in costumes), Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter (egg hunt was organized for kids), and more. My daughter incredibly benefited from the Full Day program, attending 3 days a week. My daughter learned to write the alphabet letters, identify and write numbers, shapes, and so much more. She also painted, colored, and did so many arts and crafts projects. My daughter looked forward to school every single day. Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Vicki were so attentive, kind, and caring for all the children. They created such a beautiful and welcoming classroom community. Given a small student population, my daughter learned so much because the student to teacher ratio was a low number. My daughter always shared all the things she learned, academic or social, and this for me was a testament to the positive impact Bright Start Preschool made upon my daughter. Ms. Lisa is absolutely organized and so professional in all communication by providing memos and communicating via a phone app called Brightwheel. I also enjoyed when she occasionally sent pictures of my daughter doing various activities. I like her two-part security system that all parents (or authorized person on list) must use the Brightwheel app to check their child in and out. The second part requires that one press a buzzer so she can view visitors on a camera and then she remotely unlocks the door to allow one to pick up one's child. Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Vicki took every health precaution to keep the students safe, given the Covid-19 pandemic affecting us all. I appreciated every requirement to keep my daughter safe such as doing temperature checks to check-in, requiring students to keep their masks on at all times (except to eat), wash their hands often, and keeping their distance. They kept things so clean and sanitized. Overall, Bright Start is a wonderful and loving educational preschool environment. You and your child will always be welcomed with a smile and your child will learn so many important educational and social skills. I appreciate all Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Vicki did to make my daughter's graduation from preschool and end-of-the-year activities special, even though it was done differently because of the ongoing pandemic. I will treasure the graduation photos and classroom picture for years to come.

Before I give a glowing and deeply heartfelt review of the experience our family has had at…read moreMontessori House of Children with both of our boys, I want to share a broader thought, because context matters, especially when parents are making one of the most important decisions of their lives. I think it is fundamentally unfair when a school receives a one-star review based purely on a parent's expectation of what they think an accredited Montessori environment should be, particularly when that opinion comes from a misunderstanding, limited exposure, or without ever actually attending or engaging with the school. Montessori education is nuanced, intentional, and often misunderstood when viewed through a traditional lens. What troubles me most is how quickly some people run to leave damaging reviews without first asking questions, seeking clarity, or having a conversation with the school. Educators and administrators put their entire lives into the well-being of these children and the integrity of their program. Parents rely on real, lived experiences when deciding to place their children in someone else's care, and highly subjective or reactionary reviews do not serve that trust or decision-making process. I truly believe that if something feels off, the first step should be to pause, gather information, and talk with the school. If, after genuine effort and understanding, you still feel strongly, then by all means leave a review. But perspective matters. And if you take a moment to look at some of the most extreme one-star profiles, you will often notice a pattern. Volatility, absolutes, and very little middle ground. Life, and education, rarely works that way. Now onto what actually matters. Our older son graduated from Montessori House of Children and is now thriving in first grade. Our younger son is about to graduate this year. Over the years, we have watched both boys grow not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and independently. This school helped shape who they are as learners and as people. The teachers are patient, intentional, and deeply invested. The environment fosters confidence, curiosity, responsibility, and respect. These are core Montessori principles that are clearly lived, not just advertised. Our children felt safe, seen, challenged, and supported. We will always be grateful for the foundation Montessori House of Children gave our family. It is not just a school. It is a community that genuinely cares about children and their development. I recommend it without hesitation to parents seeking a thoughtful, authentic Montessori experience.

TLDR; Second child just graduated Montessori…read more Bittersweet is the vibe. We truly wish our time here would never end, but now it has, and for the second and final time. Both our children entered this happy place at the youngest possible age, 24months, bc we wanted them to enjoy the stimulation of a preschool setting, and we are so happy we did. It goes far beyond the lessons learned in the classrooms, and the social norms they picked up in the sandbox. This is a place entrusted with not only watching your most precious possessions, but nurturing them and guiding them in their most formative years. It almost feels inadequate to relate the gravity of this responsibility and the proven outcome in a few graphs on the internet, but here we are. A combined 6+ years total, spent at this place. The first week at Monty with our first born, we weren't sure what to expect. She was able to do dropoffs well, as she had experience w that in daycare. Ofc, there were more than a few days where those turned difficult, her tears streaming, legs kicking, voice straining with violent screams at the prospect of not hanging out with Dad all day as he worked from home. But nobody is better at that particular hostage negotiation than the staff at Montessori. What seemed a task akin to charming a hissing Cobra snake was handled like a scoop of ice cream. I still remember the first Friday pick UP where my daughter had a complete meltdown at being told she was coming home for the day, and no, she couldn't come back til Monday. From an infrastructure standpoint, it's hard to beat this facility. The powerful HVAC hums along in all seasons so everyone is in comfort. The lunches are prepared hot, consistently, and lovingly everyday, which is so convenient. And most of all, their vast shaded outdoor space, separated by age, is what really sets this place apart. Children are at their best when given room to run, and the playground and toys provided are second to none. I'll miss cleaning the sand out of their shoes every day. Ultimately tho, what really makes this place what it is, is the Staff. The longtime teachers here truly love their job and the children they teach. The small class sizes ensure these wee ones have a loving experience as they navigate the bright and sometimes stormy journey of early childhood. The teachers always know how to handle any of the challenging situations that arise, and have a never ending supply of love to share. They also potty trained both our kids in a short amount of time, filling the crucial daytime gap of our schedule. Another advantage they provide you with is the highly individualized education plan that is tailored toward the daily progress of your child. Age is just a number here. When our kids were showing progress w their numbers and letters, they advanced appropriately. Both had a full kindergarten education a year early as a result. And, not to brag, but I strongly believe this to be the main reason why our oldest (now a soon to be 3rd grader) threw a perfect game on her OLSAT. Some folks say start kinder a year late, I think a year early (for the right child ofc) is the move. When LAUSD started offering free transitional kindergarten, it was natural for us to consider taking them up on the offer. But we quickly decided against it, despite the cost savings and convenience of a single dropoff in the morning. We didn't want our 4 year old getting bullied in the bathrooms by 5th graders, nor being immersed in a classroom of 30 some odd kids either. At this tender age, the loving, hugging nature of Monty is something we could never quantify, and is by far a superior environment. Really, it's hard to overstate the profound feeling of gratitude we have for this School. Like, it's not simply a Thai food restaurant you frequent bc you can't think of what to make for dinner. It's a place where children will receive an upbringing that never misses, that they enjoy and truly delivers at every opportunity.

I found this school after trying many others in the area. New Generation is both play and academically focused, always clean, and has a GORGEOUS backyard play area (I always say it feels heavenly back there). I'll never ever forget how wonderful it felt to pick my daughter up in such a safe and loving environment every day and have her run across that playground to hug me. The school is not only kid-friendly, but parent friendly. They have always been kind and supportive in a way that parents of preschoolers need... they just get it. The front office empathizes and gives of their time and attention, always making me feel safe and seen. They also throw a great party!! The Fall Festival every year is seriously so much fun - we're still planning to go as a family even after we've left! There are always holiday activities, celebrations, shows, adorable Graduations... everything is just so perfect. Most importantly, the teachers are INCREDIBLE. We had Ms. Claudia, Ms. Laura, and Ms. Favi throughout the years, three of the most lovely women, always with a focus on learning, growth, development, and kindness. The kiddos spend so much time at preschool, it has been very comforting to know it is such a wonderful environment, complete with care and attention from very involved teachers. Ms. Favi, our current teacher, truly looks at her students as if they were her own, and treats them as such. My daughter loves her so, and dreams of being a teacher one day because of how wonderfully Ms. Favi does it. It will be so hard to say goodbye to her, and there will be no shortage of tears (mom included). I highly recommend this school for your sweet little ones. Now, four years later, he is graduating as a Blossom, their equivalent of Transitional Kindergarten. Among his graduating class, he is the longest attending student and the very first child to start as a Seedlet and complete all four years of the program from beginning to end. We proudly refer to him as a founding member and a LIFER! Watching our child grow alongside his cohort of classmates over these past four years has been such a special experience for our family, and for all of the families who have been part of this journey together. Mariya, the administrator, not only has the professional background and expertise, but more importantly the personality, talent, passion, and true calling to make this establishment the magical place that it is. She has an incredible ability to build diverse, beautifully balanced classroom communities, and her continued investment in both talent and professional development for the staff truly sets Harmon Oaks apart in meaningful and developmentally impactful ways. One of the things that immediately stood out to us, and completely put us at ease as first-time parents enrolling our child in a nursery program, was how thoughtful and intentional their onboarding process is. Instead of introducing many children at once, they bring them in one at a time so each child has the opportunity to build trust, bond with the teachers, and adjust to the environment in a calm and supported way before another child joins. That level of care made a tremendous difference in our son's transition into preschool. He bonded with his teachers very quickly, and we truly believe that strong foundation shaped how secure, confident, and excited he felt coming to school every single day. Harmon Oaks has created something truly special with their Reggio-inspired, STEM-focused approach. The environment encourages curiosity, creativity, collaboration, problem solving, and independence in ways that feel natural and joyful for children. Over the years, we have watched our son grow academically, socially, and emotionally through hands-on learning experiences that genuinely sparked his love of learning. Our son is graduating from preschool already equipped with foundational reading and writing skills, a deep sense of mathematical thinking, problem solving abilities, a love for experimenting and discovery, basic sign language, class etiquette, self regulation, and genuine respect for both friends and teachers. But most importantly, he is graduating with a true love for learning and a strong sense of belonging within a collaborative classroom community. That, to us, is the greatest gift a school can give a child. The teachers and staff have been extraordinary throughout every stage, from Seedlets to Sprouts to Bloomers and now Blossoms. They are warm, attentive, patient, and deeply invested in each child's development. It always felt like our son was truly known, understood, and cared for as an individual. As parents, there is nothing more meaningful than knowing your child feels safe, loved, challenged, and excited to learn. Harmon Oaks NoHo West gave our family that and so much more. We are endlessly grateful for the role they played in our son's early childhood, and we could not recommend them more highly. PS: I just asked my son if he wanted me to include anything extra in my review and he said "You forgot to name all the teachers I love! Ms. Amy, Ms. Emily, Ms. Joy, Ms. Mariana, Ms. Reyna, Ms. Anahit, Coach Pancake, Ms. Mariya has also been my teacher in every class and she is so proud of me. I am going to go back to read books for them when I am in kindergarten!"

My daughter just switched to this day care. She was at a house daycare prior to this, which she…read moreloved, but I saw this place when I was pregnant and knew I wanted her there. The transition was good - they did a 30 min playdate, then a half day into a full day. This is more of a classroom setting and I think that she will thrive. The teachers are really nice and nurturing. They have a hot foods menu that you can order from, but they provide morning and afternoon snacks. Overall this has been great so far!
