Heck No. I have my own personal modem for internet and still pay a ridiculous price for internet. Spectrum is very greedy. They truly want to bleed you dry. I really appreciate bright house now. This is what I sent Brighhouse and awaiting a response: I sent an e mail yesterday and got no response. Your service tech came today. He was not friendly and obviously didn't want to be working on Easter. I asked if he was putting in a new box and he said he only had refurbished boxes. After he finished, I asked him if the remote was set and he said yes. I asked him if the delay on our other box was normal, he said yes and left. I tried the replacement unit and the remote did not work. Called your company and after they ran thru some tests, determined that the box was not good and I needed a new one. YOUR COMPANY HAS INCOMPETANT PEOPLE!!!! I asked that they send someone out to replace it. Your company said no, they were too busy today. So I guess your Company standard is to get in and out as fast as possible. You have no quality control. The proper response was to get someone here immediately, even if it meant sending a supervisor. Your lack of response to yesterday's e mail and lack of ability to respond immediately shows that I need to look for a new provider. Brighthouse sucks. If there is a good alternative, let me know. Because AT&T sucks, too. We've had Brighthouse for nearly 5 years for phone, tv, and internet. Their speeds are not what you pay for and are worse during peak hours. They upgrade their equipment and don't bother to let you know that you need a new cable box until you call them when you can't get half your channels. Their customer service is all over the place. Today they were supposed to come between 2-4, which they reminded me of TWICE, but it is 7pm and they haven't come. Not only that, but when I called for the second time to find out where the tech was, they said he had come but no one was home. Stephanie's review just does not compute. Perhaps she works for BH - either directly or indirectly. My issues with BH have nothing to do with their service agents. Yes, they are nice when you call their center. However my issues with BH have more do with the quality of the product, their level of service and value for my hard-earned money. Bright House fails in so many ways. But then they don't really have to try very hard do they when consumers have so little choice with service providers. In my particular piece of paradise in Orlando my only Internet options are Bright House or Centurylink. For cable TV, since "free TV" does not work in this metro area either, our options are satellite or Bright House. AT&T & Comcast are not available because the telephone & cable companies have carved our little world up into corporate fiefdoms. I even called the FCC to validate this. Cable & Internet providers have pre-arranged agreements whereby they will only service certain blocks. The only cowboy in the mix is satellite dish for TV but then you are locked into a 2 year contract + equipment fees. Bottom line folks they can call you "friend" all they like. At the end of the day consumers lack choice & freedom when it comes to selecting their providers. They are all quasi-monopolies, which entitles them to charge you outrageous prices for sub-par service, nickle & dime you with service chargesr and provide you with sub-par service for your trouble. I would like to live in a world where I could select from all providers and go with the one who provides me good value for my money. I'll pay for quality but I won't pay a kings ransom or get locked into a blood-signed contract because I am forced to choose between which evil is less painful. Perhaps if there was more competition in the true tradition of business enterprise, these companies would clean up their act or new and potentially better service providers would rise above the sea of discontent. read more

BHN cannot be any better than other providers as far as customer service goes. They make sure the Tech arrives "on time" according to their statements but it took 3 phone calls for a Tech to finally arrive. Look, don't call me to tell me the Tech should be there by so and so and he shows up 4 hours after his original appointed time. Oct 4th 2013: Tech comes and replaces my current internet modem with a Ubee and gives me a Samsung Cable box for my recent upgrade. Oct 23rd 2013: After a few weeks, I am dissatisfied with the billing. These fools want to charge me $169.66 for Digital TV (One Box) and Internet upgrade from 10mpbs (standard) to 30mpbs (roadrunner turbo). I spend 1.5 hrs on the phone disputing the bill and all the Rep keep does is placing me on hold any time I have a question about billing. Not to mention the number of times he contradicted himself about getting credit for this and that. On top of that, they want to lock in a "pending/queued' charge on my card for $169.66 (it should have been $118 after all credits applied) and they end up telling me that it will be applied in the next billing. My thoughts are, what If I am not happy with the service and disconnected before next billing. Regardless, their word is I'm getting to get charged $169.66 because auto pay customers can't release the pending payment (this is 3 business days before the actual due date). I decided to cancel the service immediately after the first call to straighten out the billing amount for my October bill.. It is a mess and CS can't get their stories straight. I as a consumer don't have time to baby sit employee from another company to make sure the customer is getting charged the correct amount let alone make sure any 'credit' promised or stated to a customer is actually applied to his account for the current billing period. The 2nd lasted almost 1.5 hrs just to cancel service.. I have no complaints about the Cable service itself but rather the messy Customer Service they have provided. I'll look for TV service elsewhere. Update 10/24: came and picked up the equipment. They forgot the cable modem and cables.. Wtf! That means to me more excuses for charges and holds on my account! It's true. They are the worst. The poor customer service people are nice, but they don't have a clue. Been on phone with them 7x totaling 4 hours of my time over past week to get a simple phone number ported from CenturyLink to them. They blamed CenturyLink even though I confirmed that with century link it was Brighthouse that was delaying it. As as local business owner and member of the local Orlando Chamber of Commerce I am in complete shock at how terrible their service is on this recent work order. So bad, I got disconnected after waiting to speak to supervisor. They never called me back even thought they had my number. They buy those customer service awards because they get. My Friend. I am simply amazed at how bad Bright House is. The only thing they have going for them is the fact they sealed up the market somehow blocking competitors from coming in. I was told that if Bright House was in an area they are the only ones that you can get service from. This is a travesty to the public. There is no competition on service providers so we are forced to endure the substandard service they provide. It is time that we force them to fix their issues. I have been in Orlando for right at a year. Prior to moving here I lived in Guadalajara Mexico. I was shocked coming here and finding that there was no fiber optic internet in Orlando. Is this town that technologically challenged? I have only had the opportunity to deal with BH for my services. I have always paid for the 45 MB internet after continuously having bandwidth issues I started doing periodic speed checks. The fasted recorded speed over a year was 17.8 MBS. I spoke to BH about this and their reply was you are paying for "UP TO 45." I told the sales rep that in my speed log I have 45 and 50+ but that was when I was with another carrier. Prey tell me why there is not a better service in Orlando. I told the sales person if that is the case and I only get 15 that is what I want to pay for. So he down graded my service. What I expected was to still get the 15 that I have always gotten. Well that is not the case. For some reason I only now get 2-5 MBS. That have oversold the bandwidth in the markets and we are paying for it. To me this is fraud sell one thing and then throttle the bandwidth down so much that you can't get what you pay for. Google fiber or AT&T's ADSL needs to come to orlando and they will put BH out of business. So if you are looking for a place to live in Orlando look for a place that does not have BH for services. read more

A lot of people have problems with Bright House, but I've never had any serious issues with them. I have great service with their HD programming, HDDVR, and I have their 15Mbps internet... I agree DirecTV might be cheaper sometimes, but face it - we live in Florida... storm clouds frequently distort my friend's DirecTV signal. Customer service has been decent. I've had a couple of DVRs crap out on me - mainly because I record a lot of shows and there seems to be a problem with Scientific Atlanta's Java firmware with garbling recorded shows when the DVR hits about 98% capacity, which then would cause the system to crash. I think Bright House still has better overall quality over Comcast. I'm about to move and I have the option to go satellite or cable - I'm pretty sure I'm sticking with Bright House... read more

Late last month or earlier this month (I can't remember) my service was disconnected by mistake. There was a problem with my bank and couple of payments bounced (the problem was I was giving them my old bank info by mistake) As soon as I figured out what was happening I paid the bill with my credit card, several days later the service was disconnected. When I called to find out why the representative told me it was because of the returned check when I pointed out I already paid that on a credit card he apologized and turned the service back on. I should not be billed a disconnect and reconnect fee for this error. It was not my error I resolved my error before it became an issue. A few days later I got a notice on my door that I owed $522 and change. I used the chat feature to talk with someone about what was going on. They were very clear and explained why the notice was left etc... and even took off the $20 fee. During that discussion I was told that my service was safe until the 17th and I assured them I would make the payment by that time. Today the 13th my service was disconnected again. Again I should not be billed a disconnect / reconnect fee. The service was supposed to be on until the 17th. I work online and require internet access to get paid. I called and spoke with someone and they said nothing could be done until I paid 177.07 and that I had to pay in cash. I actually had to go and pawn things to get the bill paid. It literally took every dime I had. I had full intentions of paying this bill before the 17th but needed to get a paycheck in the bank first. I am now completely broke and can't even buy food. I want to know what brighthouse is going to do to make up for this error. I am due to be refunded the disconnection and reconnection fees for the last two mistaken disconnections. In addition to that I was forced to pay $177.07 in cash I had to drive all the way across the county using up gas. I also missed about 4-5 hours of work today and counting because my phone is still not working. I work online and require internet and phone to do my job! read more

Another horrible review. The customer service people are maybe the best but their field service techs and service in general suck balls. Cable service provider for the last five months, five visits from techs who clearly have no idea or clue. Also finger pointing as to whose fault their terrible service is. Techs blame the customer service reps for not reading emails. Techs blaming the boxes themselves (currently have Cisco boxes). CSR's blaming the field service techs. Disgusting when they charge almost $200 a month for premium cable, Internet and phone service. Absolutely terrible service - Do not use!!!!!! Was a loyal customer for 2 years until I moved. They failed to notify me and started chipping away at credit. On top of this, they are completely awful at customer service and their offerings suck. Constant outages. If I could give them zero stars I would. They came and set up my internet. It never worked. Made several appointments to fix it and the never show up. I called and they said the appointment was never made....Unbelievable. Waited from 1:00 to 8:00 no show. They begged to keep my service. Whoever dreamed up the idea of putting these little boxes on every TV set in the house will ultimately be responsible for the collapse if Brighthouse! I have 4 in my business and after only 1 month if service, I have had 3 service calls and have had all 4 replaced on different dates. In my home, 1 box didn't work for 2 days and just Shen I was ready to make the call it magically started working again. Mist TV's are HD ready now and should not need a box. Brighthouse, if this was an attempt to keep people from stealing cable, you should be more concerned about the honest people that will now leave your services for satellite. Your main advantage WAS "no boxes" required. If I need a box on all sets, satellite is looking like a better option read more

If I could give me zero stars I would. Phone reps are nice great but to get to them you have to wait about 20 min. I have had so many issues trying to get my devices moved. First put the order online never got a call finally called in myself no record of me requesting move online so save yourself time and don't bother. Then on install date they went to the old house not the new house and after two calls and more days waiting another phone person tells me the order was submitted incorrectly not as a transfer. Install comes Internet is fine but tech tells me I cannot choose my network name or password which I know is a lie because previously I had named it and selected my own password for the lightning internet. I decided not to argue with him but now have to keep a piece of paper to know both of them. Next issue is day later the TV cable is not working after calling and spending an hour on phone resetting digital box they decide we need a new box. To speed time and not to wait another two days we go to brighthouse ourselves and get a new Digital box which surprise is same issue - more phone calls to brighthouse resetting he box still not working so two techs later still no cable tv. One tech arrived at 7:30 appt window was 4-6 however brighthouse did call to tell us they were late. Next appt was 2-4 no show so call until 7:55 pm so then had to spend another 30 min on phone to get a stand by appt which means they can come literally at any time. Long story short if you can get it hooked up correctly then you may be ok but if you have any issues good luck. I'm still waiting.... They promote a customer service appointment guarantee which as far as i can tell that guarantee doesn't mean a darn thing. The poor phone reps can tell you sorry but that is about all. Unfortunate there is no competition unless you want a dish hanging off your house you are at their mercy and I think they know that. read more

If you are thinking of signing up please do yourself a favor and look at other services. I have lived in Orlando for over twenty years. I have seen the service at Bright House go from good to terrible in the past few years. Cable companies have lobbied our government to allow them to create monopolies on certain areas. If you are in a bad area, you may have no other cable choice but Bright House. However I would still recommend looking at other companies. Expect 20 to 45 minute wait times on the phone if you bite the bullet and get Bright House anyway. The customer service agents do not like the company they work for and it comes through in the calls. They are increasing rates every year and providing service that gets worse as the price goes up. Maybe Orlando will get lucky and get the new Google service but for now we are stuck with cable companies that have the government backing their terrible behavior. If your installation goes well, you should buy a lottery ticket.. Expect two or three visits before they get it right. You should also be aware that the equipment they give you to bring cable and internet into your home will fail regularly and waste lots and lots of your time trading it in... This company is known as Spectrum now. I actually liked Brighthouse, but Spectrum is straight up ridiculous and I been a customer for a long time, and my bill is almost $200.00 since they keep raising the monthly charge and it's not like I have all the extra services! I just have Internet, TV and Phone. I'm looking elsewhere as it's frustrating to see my bill keep going up. Worst service ever. even with the most expensive and "fastest" package , your service will go in and out and after 10 service calls to your residence over 12 months, they will still do nothing to fix it. They say its fixed ( two new routers - did nothing to help) ( new wiring - did nothing to help ). Unable to watch netflix or hulu due to constant - buffering due to slow internet speed ( even though I pay 130 a month for the fastest). Wifi always goes in and out. Now they say they are not sure what the problem is , but admit that the service in my area- Windermere , FL is not what it should be - But they offer NO discount to a service that does not work properly. Terrible customer service. Sadly Only company in my area that offers internet . I have had Birighthouse as my internet and cable provider for about 5 years. They have always provided good service. I have had very few outages in that time, and they have been very prompt when coming by for service. No more endless wasted time time waiting on a cable guy like I remember from long ago. I have a high speed internet package and basic cable. The internet is fast no problems there. My cat even spilled a bucket of water on the modem they came right out and fixed it no charge. Great customer service! However the installation tech missed the initial hook up date and customer service kept telling me I was the next appointment making wait 4 hours for someone who never showed up. Cool, my cable got fixed, as well as my name... however when I was waiting for my cable box to reset over the phone the representative for brighthouse started saying some inappropriate things while speaking to one of his associates. Now, he must have not realized he had not muted his phone but regardless, talk like this should NOT go on at the work place. I heard him say "what?? When we called to complain, customer service said the $19.94 rate is for NEW customers only. So that means, your NEW customers are more valuable to you than the old loyal customers. Most horrible internet I have ever had. We pay for the 60mb package and still extremely spotty constantly. When it works, it tends to work well but more often than not it doesn't. We have replaced at least 4-5 cable boxes in the 2 and a half years I have lived at the house and have had bright house reps to fix the tv or internet at least 10-15 times. I recommend to all to look into "cutting the cable". That is the only way you can have an effect on them and save a ton of money in the process. Getting by without cable TV is super easy in central Florida. I built a couple of (free, I already had the materials needed) digital antennas off plans from the net and strategically placed them in my second floor attic. I can pick up all the free high-deff TV signals and analog in about a 70 mile range. If I could give a negative rating I would.. absolutely fucking ridiculous process to get this service. - Their pricing is outrageous for a premium package!! My bill was over $200/month with 2 boxes, 100 MBPS and HBO/SHO/STRZ packages!! I could get all of this and WAY faster internet for $120/Month max with Fios or Cablevision. Such a rip off and a complete monopoly when an apartment complexes in Tampa keep other major ISP's out of the region by making new tenants choose between 2 crappy ISP's AND they get kickbacks for each one! - The internet service is garbage compared to FIOS (500MBSP vs 100MBSP). - The remote is something from the god damn 90's.. talk about R&D department.. - They lost $20 million last year because they can't run proper credit checks.. people were calling in giving false information and then cancelling or not paying bills. So now their new policy is to require you provide the ENTIRE social security number? Can some one say identity theft? What other ISP requires your SS#, not just the last 4 of your SS#? - What the hell is a "sports package"? These channels should just be included with a premier package. You're going to charge me $10/month more for the NFL Network? There is no reason this company should still be in business. They are absolutely corrupting the housing complexes in Tampa/St. Pete by giving backdoor kickbacks to property owners and keeping Verizon/Comcast out of the region. The only reason Bright House networks is able to stay relevant is because they buy out certain properties to prevent other competitors from coming in. If I could I would give 0 stars. I have never been so frustrated with a cable/internet provider in my life. I had to use "clear internet" for a couple of months when I had a summer internship and that was WAY more reliable than this brighthouse crap. 1st of all who has ever even heard of this provider? I know I havent. I am not from Florida or the south so I have only ever heard of Comcast, time warner cable, verizon and att uverse. *cough* reputable companies *coughs* and so when I moved here and was informed that brighthouse was the only company (running a monopoly) I was not very happy. Anyway, I pay $127 for regular cable and regular internet. Needless to say outrageously priced.... I was with time warner cable prior to being forced into this crap cable company for 3 years where I had 1000+ channels, highest speed internet and DVR for $90 a month. The internet does not work even though I have called countless times trying to have them fix it. ( I am using hotspot from my iphone right now to use the internet on my laptop) the rep told me that it is normal for intenet connections to get interrupted when living in apartments when it is so many people living close together... so is that what companies tell the reisdents of NYC, Chicago, LA and countless other cities where the vast majority live very close to one another? I think not. That cannot be a reason that my internet works for about 5 minutes on my laptop before going out and i have to reconnect. Oh it also will not work on my iPad or Iphone at all. He told me that the internet connection has trouble connecting to apple products. Seriously!?!? If you live in an area in Orlando that has the option to get another cable provider DO IT. read more

Brighthouse has absolute garbage service and their internet is even worse. I have had a technician at my house once a week for the last two months. The first guy left my house without providing a router, or setting up the service at all. The second, which couldn't make it for a week later set up the internet but I was getting under 1mbps when I was paying for the lightning speed! (90mbps) To this moment, I am getting 5mbps for almost 100$ a month and I am furious. Avoid this company if at all possible. read more

To no one who will really read this,cares, who will contact me or make changes.... WHY do I have to look at my statement each and every month to see what BOGUS and not authorized charge has been put on my bill. Example... 6.14, i receive a letter that BH is now after 14 years of a service, has decided to change $4/month for a modem ...that without the modem.... the services would not be available..... in the letter that I received, it states the charge will not start until the July statement. I call BH in June to tell them to come pick up them modem and install the modem that I NOW have to buy....for something that used to come part of the service of BH... they pick up the modem on the 7.5 but I still was charged $4 for the modem and now see a charge $1 for "Regional Sports Network.... I NEVER ORDERED THIS....! The person said it used to be free....now BH is charging for it. YOU NEVER ASKED IF I WANTED THIS.... YOU JUST STARTED TO CHARGE ME MORE MONEY FOR SOMETHING THAT USED TO BE FREE. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS NETWORK....NEVER WATCHED IT BUT YOU THOUGHT IT OK TO START CHARGING ME AND MILLIONS OF OTHERS WITHOUT TELLING THEM ABOUT IT. This is why I hate BH and tell everyone NOT to use them. I will post this email on line so that all can see the underhanded tactics of BH and maybe have them change their unethical ways. I say to all, look at your BH statement each month carefully. I'm sure eventually you will find added fees that you NEVER asked for...used to be free and now have to opt out and unethical practices to charge you more. read more

I am sick of my wi go kicking me off the system. They are telling me we all need to be hard wired... so why pay for wifi??? They suck.

We got brighthouse installed about a week ago. haven't had any issues. Brighthouse is my favorite cable company. Will never go back to comcast and direct tv is a joke. :) read more
