The Watson Funeral home handled the funeral services for both my mother, father and other relatives…read moreover years. Most recently, my 100 year old Mother who passed at my home, out of state. During difficult times Mr. Watson made all the arrangements with the local, family run funeral home to prepare Mom and coordinate her flight back to RI to be put to rest with Dad and her family. Bill also took care of all the details in planning and conducting the service. If you are ever in the need of services of a funeral home/director I would always recommend Mr. Watson and the Watson Funeral Home for respectful, organized and professional service, especially during the very difficult challenges we face during this horrible pandemic.

If you come here for typical services rendered, such as burying or…read morememorializing a loved one, then you are probably OK. I would caution you not to go outside the lines with the short-tempered and stressed out owner William Watson, because you don't know what will set him off. I contacted him to verify a burial of a family member whom I know was served there. Typically, if the deceased is someone whom they have previously served most mortuaries will cooperate with you to verify what is public information on death records and obituaries. Not Mr. Watson. He was uptight when I called the first time, the next, even worse, refusing to work with me. When I disconnected the call, he called back immediately to chew me out on a voice message. After all, I wasn't bringing him any new business! We all know that attitude is poor public relations and will do nothing for business. Many of the mortuaries in Rhode Island are family-owned for decades, like Skeffington, and the principles there are aging and rigid. You have many other good choices. Go somewhere else!

They treated us like family! It's weird to write a review for a funeral but they treated so great,…read morei felt i need to let others know. My grandmother passed away suddenly; it was a hectic time and we were trying to make arrangements as best as we could. We called the hospital she had passed away at, and they suggested Dyer-Lake, which was close by to where my grandmother had lived. Originally we wanted to do it in RI, since she had lived there for years and most family/friends are there, but due to some circumstances, this funeral home would be best. From the first moment going there through the grave side service, they were super helpful and friendly. They spoke to us about prices, about picking up the body; helped us get a mass service at our church and helped us figure out how to get her buried with her late son. At the wake, as soon as the family arrived, we were treated well. Cars got parked for us, they explained how the service would go. They had pamphlets and cards beautifully made! We were so surprised. The pamphlets had her information, poems and lots of pictures. The cards are laminated and beautiful. Everyone who came to the wake received one, hand given by the staff. They also had chocolate angels for guests, a nice treat. The day of the funeral they were there with the casket and directed us through everything. My family is very thankful to Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, the owners and all employees. They made a stressful, sad situation, a little easier and we couldn't have asked for more.

They handled every detail with genuine care, making a very difficult time so much easier for our family. They listened to our wishes and honored my dad's memory beautifully. We are so grateful for their compassion and support. I want to add an extra special thanks to Tim, as this man is so whole heartedly kind and compassionate ...especially to my mom and this didnt go unnoticed by my entire family. He is truly a special person.

I buried my father, mother, and nephew though Winfield & Sons Funeral Home. Nicole was the funeral…read moredirector for both my mom and my nephew. She did an amazing job with both, so when my mother-in-law was placed on hospice in March, we called and asked specifically for her. From start to finish, Nicole began taking care of business and always made herself available, even on her days off. We wanted to place the obituary in the local paper, but it needed to be in quickly. My husbands aunt and I were trying to write it together by collaborating over the phone as we live in different states. We needed to make the deadline by 12:00 pm and we just made it but since we rushed there were many error's that we noticed after. I frantically got ahold of Nicole and without missing a beat she corrected the article right in time for the printed version. We were originally told that they couldn't guarantee an open casket, as we were waiting 2 weeks after she passed to have the funeral so that my son could come home on military leave for it. But Nicole made it happen. She even touched up my mother in laws regrowth, and colored her brown roots to blond. The services went very smoothly and Nicole organized the whole event with ease. Our family and friends were very pleased with the results. I realize that writing a review for a funeral director is not as glamorized as a review for a vacation, but it is something that all of us will have to face someday for not only ourselves but the loved ones on our life. I had a negative experience when we buried my father in law, with another funeral company. I can only say that this experience is etched in my memory that even exceeds the loss of my father in law. Having a kind, patient, caring, thoughtful person taking care of everything after your loved one has passed makes the experience much more bareable. Nicole has done this for us in all that she does and we will for ever be grateful.
