If you're looking to detox, Ritz is where you want to be. I battled opiate addiction for 7 years, 5…read moreof those on fentanyl and honestly, I was terrified of going through withdrawal. It took a friend convincing me to get help and give Ritz a shot, and honestly, it was the best decision I ever made. The staff really knows what they're doing when it comes to this disease, and they helped me finally get off fentanyl for good. Ritz is clean, cozy, and has this chill vibe that makes it easy to settle in and focus on getting better. What I loved most was how the team treated me , they actually listened, kept it real, and showed real compassion because many of them had been through the same struggles. They didn't just throw a one size fits all plan at me, they made a plan that fit meIt felt like a safe space where I could be open and vulnerable without any judgment. I met people there I never thought I'd even hang out with, but some of them turned out to be the best folks I've met. We even went on weekend outings that showed me how to have fun without drugs. Oh, and huge shoutout to Steve, the chef, seriously, the best food I've ever had.

Not the best experience, I was targeted by certain staff members and treated poorly at times. while…read moresome staff members were exceptionally helpful and supportive(Danielle, nick, Laura, Johanna, and Chantelle as well as the chef). The overall company was trying to get the most money out of my insurance as possible. I started off in the sober living facility and during Christmas time, I had covid over winter and had to take NyQuil and that was the first excuse for forcing me back into a rehab program that was not needed. My reason for being in the program in the first place was that I had 18 back to back surgeries over the past 4 years and was on opioids for a long period of time so this was a way to detox in a safe environment. There was no psychological addiction, just physical dependence to opioids. They lied about multiple addictions to medication(amphetamine addiction) that I was prescribed since childhood and used it to get more money through insurance. They also lied about an alcohol addiction, when I am medically intolerant to alcohol. When I got back to the sober living after this time I was talked about poorly among staff members and called "attention seeking" for asking for a few days off in order to visit 2 dying family members. Eventually someone in the group had consumed alcohol and told the staff which upset another client due to the unfairness and favoritism. This upset client gave me alcohol without my knowledge or consent and afterwards told the staff that I was drunk. This other client had been upset and doing things like this for 2 weeks prior to this incident. I believe he did this in order to prove a point that they will send people they dislike or with good insurance back to rehab in order to get more money. This client later confessed to me he had put alcohol in my drink without my consent and I had a reaction to the alcohol and was placed back into the rehab facility. I was put on addictive barbiturates and unnecessary medications for 2 days before my insurance denied coverage due to fraudulent services. The alcohol level was so low that there was no logical reason I needed to be there. I was then abandoned as a patient had had to find a new place to live in 2 hours or I was out on the street. Remember it's just a business. They don't actually care about you. They left another 2 of my friends on their own where one eventually fell into a coma following her abandonment. Something else they did was contact my pharmacy and told them never to fill any of my prescriptions ever from any doctor. I was no longer under their care at all. I'm a disabled person and this made it very difficult to obtain medication that I needed. This is a HIPPA violation for sure.

There are not enough words to express the gratitude I have for the Rehabilitation Center of Beverly…read moreHills. My mother suffered a devastating stroke that left her unable to walk, unable to move her arms, and barely able to speak--at one point, the only word she could say was "ok." As a family, we were scared, overwhelmed, and unsure of what her future would look like. What this facility did for her... truly changed everything. Today, she is now speaking over 100 words. That transformation alone speaks volumes about the dedication and skill of the speech therapy team. They didn't just do their job--they gave my mother her voice back. The physical therapy department worked with her consistently, day in and day out. Even though she's still on her journey toward walking and regaining full use of her hands, the progress she's made has given her something priceless: belief. She now knows recovery is possible, and that mindset shift is everything. Let's be real--no place is perfect. But what sets this facility apart is the effort, the consistency, and the care. In a place where patients are going through some of the hardest moments of their lives, the staff still shows up with compassion and professionalism. From the valet to the front desk, from housekeeping to dietary staff, management, and especially the nurses and students putting in real, hands-on work--you can feel that people here care. And that matters more than anything. This is not just a facility--it's a place where real healing happens. To everyone there: thank you for giving my mother progress, hope, and dignity. Please keep doing what you're doing--you are truly changing lives.

Most recently, I was spoken to in a tone that felt condescending and unprofessional, which was upsetting and completely uncalled for. I fully understand that this is a high-stress environment, and I always try to be respectful in my interactions. However, I believe every family deserves to be treated with courtesy and dignity--especially when advocating for a loved one's care.

On the morning she died, around seven a.m., I had a vivid dream where my mother warmly embraced me. Feeling something was wrong, I immediately called the hospital to ask about her condition. They told me only that she wasn't doing well, giving no details. It wasn't until around two-thirty that afternoon that the hospital called me back, saying she was close to death and urging me to come quickly. When I arrived, I was devastated to find my mother had already passed away hours earlier. Her body was cold and discolored -- she had clearly died that morning, the same time I had the dream -- but the hospital lied about the timing. The staff's cold and indifferent behavior added to my grief. I was forced to wear full protective gear just to see her, and a nurse coldly asked, "When will you remove the body? We can't keep it here long," showing a shocking lack of respect. Later, after I shared my experience publicly, the hospital director apologized, but then personally threatened me, saying that if I ever posted a similar review again, their Regal team would come after me. Alcott Rehabilitation Hospital failed in both care and compassion. Their negligence and callousness caused our family unnecessary pain. If you truly love your parents or loved ones, never entrust them to such a hospital -- a place that treats people like this is no place for a human being. I share this story to warn others and demand accountability. Families deserve honesty, empathy, and respect -- all of which were sadly missing here. ************************************ Update (in response to the facility's public reply): After I posted this review, the facility left the message asking me to contact them privately. Let me be clear -- I have no desire to speak with you privately. Everything I experienced is written right here. If you truly cared about accountability and compassion, you would've acted when it mattered -- when my mother was alive, when she was dying alone, and when I needed answers. And if your plan is to do what you did last time -- pretend to apologize just to lure me into the facility, sit me down alone in a quiet room, and then threaten me with "your legal team coming after me" if I ever speak up again -- don't bother. That experience was terrifying and deeply disturbing, and I haven't forgotten it. I will not have any private discussions with you now or in the future. I'm simply telling the truth about what happened, and I won't be silenced by fear or intimidation.

Many behavioral health programs say that they tailor treatment plans and supports to each individual's needs, but The Last House actually DOES it. More than a program - it is a community of peers learning together and holding one another accountable.  The staff worked relentlessly to build a relationship of trust with my son, while simultaneously holding him accountable - and creating an environment in which he learned to hold himself accountable - for doing his own hard work. He learned that he has the inner resources to make healthy choices and build a life in which he thrives. The Last House will forever have a place my heart.

Well, little did we know, at the age of 26, he had a full Bi-polar manic break which landed him in a spiral. 3 DUI's, more arrests than I care to explain, lawyers on speed dial, doctors on faster speed dial, etc. As a family, we tried everything. We took away the car keys, he went and somehow bought a car! We took away to credit cards, his resources, etc. With the exception of kicking him out homeless we had no idea what to do. It wasn't until he was faced with potential prison time, we discovered The Last House. Honestly, I didn't think this would work. In my head, this was another "typical" sober living....aka catering to drug addicts rather than what they ACTUALLY do, which is save lives. My brother has been sober now for 3+ years, (he could tell you to the day how many since his last drink/substance). I can honestly say, this house saved my brother's life. 10000% THIS HOUSE PRODUCES RESULTS. They are easy to contact, honest, have a great straight forward system. They create a brotherhood and lasting results for their guys. They make living sober very tangible, and quite honestly fun. I am so thankful to this program.

One notable trait, no matter who I asked for anything, coffee cup, a towel, etc. they stopped what they were doing and took me to it. Trust me, unusual! Cons: The night crew leaves a lot of room for improvement. If you're close to your loved one, you'll want to stay with them at night. Or very nearby.
