My dog usually gets really anxious going to the vet but ever since we switched to Dr. Augustine, he's no longer scared of his appointments. That gives me so much comfort. Augustine is very reasonable and I truly believe he has my dogs interest at heart and not his wallet. He takes his time for every appointment. The prices are reasonable here. Marble had gotten tooth extraction here and anal gland expressed.

My previous vet near my downtown condo had me looking to switch vets and I landed on Apple Creek. I've dealt with several of their vets here, most recently Dr. Augustine, and they've all been very helpful and listened to my concerns, and responded professionally and appropriately. I originally switched since they have more reasonable prices for feline dental. Unfortunately for one of my cats, her pre-dental bloodwork led the team to conclude that she likely had cancer. They worked tirelessly to get my cat an appt at the OVC in Guelph where they were able to treat her in the short-term and get the final diagnosis. A note that they stopped accepting new clients in December. This doesn't include new pets for pre-existing clients. The staff here speak English, Cantonese, and I believe Mandarin also.

Consistent Exceptional Service Excellence Paired with Family Care…read more If you are seeking consistent exceptional service and treatment combined with care for animals as though they are their own, visit the Animal Hospital of Unionville. We have the absolute privilege of calling Dr. Marsig, Nela, Tyson and more recently Maryna family, because whether at the toughest and most painful moments when they hurt with us or the joyful occasions when they celebrated with us, it was this team that walked the entire journey with us. For nearly 17 years, this team has cared for, and loved our 4 doggies with complex adoption processes (internationally and nationally), near death experiences that required a highly innovative and a global researched approach, complex life altering surgeries and very sadly end of life journeys, this team has been there. While I do not have sufficient words to express my gratitude and love for this team, I hope that this review serves as my testament and unequivocal recommendation for the Animal Hospital of Unionville. Such is my trust and love for this team that when Dr. Dabir passed away, his loss was, and continues to have a lasting personal impact. I would likely be considered one of the most "high maintenance" clients at the Animal Hospital of Unionville. Best described as having a neurotic attachment to my doggies (it is actually me that suffers the separation anxiety) and many times having unrealistic expectations, this team is not only treating the doggies, they are also caring for me while managing their own sadness that I have personally seen at the end of their days. Based on my experience combined with discussions that I have had with other vets, Dr. Marsig is one of the most experienced vets in the world. My personal observations over the years are that he and the veterinary profession as a whole appears to be undervalued. When they order tests, we complain about the expense and when they don't we complain that they should have. I can personally share that Dr. Marsig has umpteen times left the clinic late because I rushed in with an emergency and that Nela has spent many nights at the clinic through the early hours of the morning looking after the little doggies. On one occasion, this clinic made all necessary enquiries that led them to Germany to solve what appeared to be an unsolvable and deadly situation. During COVID, my neighbor who goes to a different vet and I both needed vet care and it was eye opening to see the starkly different approaches, serving as yet further confirmation of my love for this clinic. If I measure them by whether they can perform miracles, they will fall short but if I measure them by doing everything within their power as though these animals were their own, then they exceed expectations ... every time! Dr. Marsig and team, I am so overjoyed to meet each of you and to count you as family.

They did the check up & Dr. Namdari took blood test & gave him needle: he had always been in good health even at 16. 5 years. It was obvious that he had sore gums and teeth, so had pain when eating; an infection which should have been prescribed antibiotics right away!! So he could eat. Instead, this vet gave us expensive ointment to put in his ear to "increase appetite" : didn't help; and sold us horrible can food which he rejected. I called a mobile vet, and being new, she prescribed only 7 days antibiotics: he actually got better and could eat again!! He was at stage 2 kidney disease and should have had antibiotics for atleast 2 to 3 weeks! He had one awful night on June 24th and his appointment with his original proper vet was in the afternoon. On June 25th, we fell asleep on sofa exhausted. He had passed away beside me before his appointment. Had Dr. Namdari treated his infection first with proper antibiotics, he may have pushed through instead of fighting this infection for 3 weeks!! I think this hospital charges a lot to gain profit over actually responding with correct treatment right away!!

Then I called unionville south, they are available, and 10 mins drive .We went in around 6:20PM dr B suggested xray. But he gave fafa hydromorphone! Which can't be use for fafa bacause she had breathing issue. Hydromorphone is life threatening on her. And since when xray require signature of concent, my other two cats didn't when going to the other two clinic for xray.(I should've known by this dr B is not confindent at what he does, )dr B said:but I trust dr B with the good reviews I read online, and I had an interview with this clinic earlier, it felt like a trustworthy company. Dr B. called me in after 30 mins saying fafa probably won't make it, and he failed to do the xray. I am in shock, fafa has good energy when she arrive, but when i see fafa, she was vomiting her hands holding on to the cold table edge, suffering from lack of oxygen, the time was 7:30PM store close at 7PM, I apologize to him for the over time. Dr B then gave fafa 2 other shots only explaination was it will help her, but she didn't, she can barely breath. The time came to 7:55 PM fafa still on oxygen provider, but dr B seem impatient and said fafa looks good to go - (but fafa had her tongue sticking out trying to breath.)Dr B process to turned off the oxygen, told me to pay the bill. 7:58PM I paid for whatever the bill is,had rush to emergency, but he told me to bring fafa home,(which later I realize is a clue he knew fafa won't make it, and had us leave when fafa obviously had diffculty breathing.) 8:05PM fafa died in my arm, with her eyes open, tongue still sticking out for oxygen, she was an abandon cat came to me 5 yrs ago, she's only 6 yrs old when she died on Oct 1. 1/3 of a cat's life span. If you are reading this dr Bonab I hope in the future for situation you are uncertain, insteading tell your customers to sign the concent and process with risks, inform pet owners go to emergency at the very first place.Because few hours even few minutes could've saved fafa's life.we are just a client to you, but fafa is family, no money or your ego can bring her back. My other two cats at home are looking for her in every corner. I can't look out the window thinking fafa can never lay by her favorite window. I can barely sleep, when my eyes are close fafa's struggling face came to my mind. She died suffering. Amy had set up instore helpout interview for me on Tuesday,I was so happy finally get to help animals. But I don't think so. I will not work with a doctor who can't judge the pet's circumstance and underestimate situations, who seem professional but actually don't. I blame myself for bring fafa to Dr B. I hope fafa is the last patient ever that gets wrong dignosis or wrong medication use here.

My puppy wasn't well and I had taken him to see the vet…read more The vet questioned why I had changed my dogs diet and expressed that I should have consulted with him. He prescribed my dog Flagyl, probiotics and prescription dog food. A week later, followed up with me via email on my dog. When I mentioned that he CONTINUED to have loose soft stools, he STILL recommended HIS prescribed dog food and did not seem to be concerned. I will be switching vets because I do not believe he had my dogs interest at heart. I am not the ONLY pet owner in the neighborhood whose had concerns with this clinic. I would advise to stay away.

Would you like to experience vet bills that increase each time that you pay them a visit?…read more Would you like to experience them running multiple tests on your pet just for them to provide a misdiagnosis? Would you like to have doctors and nurses be SO negligent that you lose your pet a month later after expressing concerns about lumps on their body for years? Would you like to give this veterinary clinic hundreds of dollars a month for a "pain shot" without doing any follow up checks or providing proper referrals to specialist? Then come on down to Markham Veterinary Clinic! I will keep this short and sweet because this business doesn't deserve my time anymore. However, I'd like to warn anyone who is a patient here or considering coming here to think twice. This clinic is money hungry and they do not provide the quality and care that other vets provide. They prey on those who are willing to pay thousands of dollars for their beloved pets. They will pretend that they care but the lack of support shows otherwise. They are incompetent, I find it hard to believe that a clinic could see a canine for years, have a family express concerns about the same issues for years and they still provide a misdiagnosis that became fatal. The doctors and nurses at this clinic do not provide proper treatment nor do they give enough information for families to consider other options. They will give you the run around because they want to profit from your pets. My family has been coming to this clinic for 10 years, and within the last 5 they have costed us more money than solutions for our pet. They are extremely predatory especially when they know how much the family cares for their pet. While our pet was dying from cancer, they failed to let us know that cancer was even an option because they were making us do a bunch of other tests and concluded that the lumps on his body was non cancerous. It wasn't until we got a second opinion where we finally got the answers that Markham Veterinary clinic failed to provide us. To the staff reading this, save your automated response for someone else because we BOTH know that you all were wrong. I wish you nothing but what you deserve. If you do choose to response, it won't be acknowledged nor, respected. To the people reading this that are considering coming here, don't. Save yourself the money and heartbreak. To the people who are patients here and needed a reason to stop coming here, THIS is your sign.

During the treatment period, I raised concerns several times that the medication seemed to be affecting him poorly. Unfortunately, these concerns were not taken seriously. After the last dose, he began having seizures. At no point were we clearly informed about the potential neurological side effects of this medication or advised about warning signs to watch for. We are devastated. Neo was deeply loved, and we spent years caring for him through sleepless nights, significant emotional strain, and substantial medical costs. I am sharing this in the hope that the clinic will remind its veterinarians and technicians to carefully discuss the potential side effects of medications like this and to listen closely when owners report concerns. If this message helps prevent another family from going through the same loss, Neo's story will have mattered.

Another time they up charge me for a partial examinition fee I never asked for only to book me in for a rabbies shot for my pet a few weeks later knowing they will have to charge me again for full examination fee which is 20 dollars more than the partial examination fee they had charged a few weeks before. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR END OF LIFE ANIMAL SERVICES…read more My dog has been with this clinic for all of his life, until days ago that he had to be let go due to degeneration. First of all, we asked for a checkup, our dog has a wound on his foot, the doctor removed to bandage to check and did not cover the wound again for the following procedures. They ignore the fact that an end of life animal will also feel pain! Their euthanasia procedure is they need to bring our dog to the back for the group of "technicians" (I guess those are students in fact) to insert the IV device on his foreleg to prepare for the injection later. Those people have made my dog screaming and trying to escaping and the clinic did not let us stay with him. We are so regret and feel so heartbreaking during those 10 mins torture on our dog. How comes those people did not give some tranquillizer to my dog before that procedure and make him suffer so much before his end of life! The only reason I can think of if they want to allow the "technicians" to learn to do that task under different situations. This clinic was companionate years ago and it has been growing, however, I found that they are more and more commercialized in recent years. This is very sad to see. Although my dog's end of life result is the same, but the experience going through is very unpleasant and has created horrible memory to us.
