Though, in the recent year, life got a little complicated, and thus it's been a while. Not wanting to fight the continuous Boston traffic, I decided to give Boston Bowl - Hanover a try. It was quiet on a Saturday afternoon - it was tax free weekend, so everyone was likely out shopping. I'd brought my own shoes and ball, though there seemed to be plenty of different house balls available (though during busy times, your mileage may vary). The lanes were well oiled, the automatic scoring did not give me any trouble, and there were no malfunctions that needed an attendant. The facility was modern, with large screens (Spongebob was on), and music loud enough to be heard, but not approaching a metal concert (again, Saturday afternoon vs Friday night is likely a different experience). There's just one little thing: a bit of sticker shock. When I was a kid bowling with dad, it cost under $4 a string, maybe $4.25 during a popular time. Here, it was $8.50 per string [Fri. 5pm - Sun. Close]. I fully understand that it has been 20 years, yet, $25 for one person bowling for 15 minutes still seems a bit steep. Consider: if I had brought three friends we'd be be looking at over $100.

Staff is friendly and The facilities are clean (or as clean as a skate park might be aka stickers everywhere). Most importantly, the bathrooms are clean! There are lockers you can use to store your stuff. Bring your own lock. There's a skate shop and a couple of different areas different styles of ramps. There are lots of areas for parents to hang out or kids to chill and eat food. There's even a couch and some upholstered chairs for watching skate videos. Bring your own snacks or buy food from the snack bar or the vending machines. Not a whole lot of options, but there is hot coffee and tea. If you want more than snacks, I recommend bringing food in. Prices are $25 for a three hour session or $50 for the entire day. Skate parks and scooters are available to rent for 10 bucks. It feels like a pretty good value when you compare it to the cost of other activities such as snowboarding for over $100 a day. You can even rent the place for private parties for $200 per hour certain days.

I am one of these visiting players, and also the parent of two visiting players. Lakeville has easy parking available. There is a lobby with a big screen television, which is almost always showing the Tennis Channel. That is a cool way to welcome tennis players, or make it more comfortable to wait in the lobby. The locker room is sufficient, with showers and space to change. The amenities are not fancy; but they are functional. The hard courts indoors are in good condition and separated by netting. The lighting is sufficient for play. The climate is temperature controlled. I have not yet played on the outdoor courts. The desk staff has always been courteous and welcoming on all of my visits. The home team players also seem friendly, as well as being good players.

Following up on my previous review, I went back to this club later that week with my brother and…read moresome friends to give it another chance. The front desk staff was very nice and polite and waived the guest fee for all four of us. I did ask them what court we would be playing on before paying. I was told court 3 and we were placed on court 2 but that was no big deal. The four of us played for the hour and a half we payed for and for an extra 10-15 minutes over with no extra charge as no one was scheduled for the court until 30 minutes after we were scheduled to stop. Overall it was an enjoyable and relaxing experience. I would come here again, I'd just recommend requesting to be put on courts 1 through 5 prior to reserving court time and paying.
