So I go in looking for a minor service on my vehicle. I tell them this at reception. The mechanic calls up 15 minutes later and tells me he has to basically reconstruct the whole car from scratch and charges me a whooping $1300 to get the car serviced, change the tyres and replace the brake pads. This price is way way above my budget for a Holden 2011 Cruze. I tell them this and the mechanic 'Brian' goes off at me telling me how his children are on the same road and I am a danger to the road and that I must get it serviced. With an extremely rude and offensive tone might I add. After about 10 minutes of him trying to convince / force us to take the servicing despite not being happy with the cost at all we finally get off go back to the Bridgestone and collect our car. This is where it gets bad.
I enter my car and drive about 10 minutes back to my place. I tell my dad that there was a clucking sound coming from the wheel. We go out and drive the car around the car park to find that a screw has come out of the back wheel. THE MECHANIC BRIAN DID NOT TIGHTEN MY BACK WHEEL BEFORE GIVING IT BACK TO ME!!! I have no idea how this can happen as we never told him to start anything!! I could have been seriously injured or in an accident thanks to this mechanics incompetence / stupidity. Thankfully my drive home was only 10 minutes away and free from all freeways. This is unacceptable and I hope to god no one gets injured or hurt due to this mechanic and this auto service center. Absolutely pathetic.
I ended up going to BrakesPlus and got a quote for much less then half the price. They also said I needed to replace the tyers after having just replaced them 3-4 months ago by them I might add. This was totally not needed! Please for the sake of your bank balance and your potential livelihood do not go here. This has literally been the worst service I have experienced. Shame on you Bridgestone Select and shame on you Brian!!! read more
