As someone that endured western medicine for several years, I became frustrated. I had my doubts…read moreabout acupuncture. I was not expecting the overall relief that I experienced. My pain levels had been increasing at a slow and steady pace. I detest using medication to manage pain. So I sought out, with the help of my chiropractor, someone who uses acupuncture to help with pain relief. I have been dealing with several issues, mainly chronic back pain, among other issues. I had my first appointment with Dr. Wang, and with the process explained efficiently, I proceeded with care. The process is not difficult to understand; starting care on the same day visit was expected. After the appointment that day in October, having done a session face up, I did not have any headache anymore, nor did anything hurt excessively. Week 2: This is the week where both face-up and face-down treatments. I started to feel better overall, not 100%. I began to be able to lay on my back comfortably. After the second treatment this week, I had an appointment with the chiropractor. He commented that, after five years, he had been able to adjust me where previously that he couldn't. Week 3: I only had a single visit this week. Headaches eased up tremendously. I noticed improvement with my stomach and intestines; this visit did not prevent the massive migraine I ended up with the next weekend. Week 4: I can't begin to express the relief that I have felt. I have felt less tense, relaxed even. Muscles that generally are dysfunctional at best starting to relax more permanently. I have relief after starting this adventure. Between the acupuncture, the chiropractic, and the very light strength training, I am feeling better than I have in recent years. I am a believer in acupuncture. Not always comfortable or painless, I am more than willing to go through the temporary discomfort. The lasting effects of the acupuncture have more than outweighed any possible pain or bleeding that I experience during treatment. I am bummed to be coming up on the last few visits that will fall under insurance. I plan on continuing with the cash price for further visits. I wholeheartedly believe that anyone that has chronic pain should try acupuncture. I certainly recommend Dr. Wang and her practice.

Dr. Tighe is absolutely amazing. I started going to her in October and I've stuck to my plan. I…read moresuffered from migraines on a weekly basis. Since starting my plan and making lifestyle changes, I've reduced my migraines by 90%. I have more energy and I feel so much better. I look forward to my visits with her. She genuinely cares and listens thoroughly - that's rare to find when most of the time I was used to being funneled in and out of doctors offices with little face to face time - the fact that she cares so much already helped me to feel positive about my future with the changes made. It's about getting to the root and it gives me peace of mind knowing that this is an approach that I can maintain and build upon.

I've been seeing Dr. Tighe for acupuncture and naturopathic advice for a couple of months. She's…read morevery kind and perceptive, her office is beautiful and quiet and easy to get to (you can walk from the Potomac or Kelton T stops), and the treatment she's been giving me works. One detail I like, compared to other acupuncturists, is that while you're resting with the needles in she covers you with one of those first-aid blankets that look like super-fine tinfoil, so you stay warm but the blanket is super super light and places no pressure at all on the needles. Also, she does this amazing thing at the end where she covers your entire back with a hot compress soaked in Chinese herbal tea. You might as well be at the spa. What more can I say? Great stuff!
