The backstory of what went into the stunts and how a lot of it was trial and error and memorization was interesting. The hardest part was realizing my own naivety and flat out ignorance as it related to the confederate heritage that undergirded the show. From the car, the flag and heritage the theme of the show aimed to keep alive was tough to come to terms with and at the same time reminded me of the innocence of being a child and just enjoying the action and comedic experience the show brought. I bought a souvenir and I haven't even unpacked it almost a month later.

The 125 acre urban arboretum "provides all students and community members with an outdoor classroom, a forested haven that is home to a rich oak-hickory habitat of flora and fauna, flowering gardens, and native wildflowers." The arboretum is open from dawn to dusk 365 days a year, and has free admission. (That said, I encourage you to support the EJC by becoming a member). We enjoyed walking on the 0.9 easy loop trail, passing through or near the family garden, the oak-hickory forest, fern valley, the pond, and more. Being late October, there weren't any flowering plants, but it didn't matter. There are restrooms, family restrooms, a water fountain, picnic area, a few benches, and an information kiosk. There are also three free parking areas on University Blvd, all with handicap parking spaces. We parked in the largest R5 lot. The garden and paths are well-maintained and enjoyed by a variety of users -- students, people walking their leased dogs, and older folks getting in some gentle exercise. I had only two disappointments -- (1) I so enjoyed the arboretum that I wish it were bigger! (2) can hear some traffic noise, but I guess you'd have to expect that in an urban garden. We look forward to returning when next in Harrisonburg!

While the streambed running through it was dry, it had the insect population of a wetland and I struggled to stop and be still at any point during my exploration. The site has two small parking lots and a variety of attractions, including extensive play facilities for the pre-college crowd. Most of the other attendees, however, appeared older than college students. There were certainly some interesting sights to be seen, and no charge to get in.

The temperature of 54°F (12°C) year-round. I brought a light jacket. We walked thru the paved loop. Scott talked about history and the discovery of the carven. He pointed out many different shapes of limestones around us. He also mentioned lots about minerals, Stalactites, Stalagmites etc. I enjoyed his jokes and he definitely made the early tour worth it. With the ticket, you can also visit Car & Carriage Caravan Museum, Shenandoah Heritage Village, and Toy Town Junction. The cafe sells some snacks and chocolate. All the staff were very nice and friendly. Bathroom is clean. You can stay there as long as you want. visit all the museum and the carven . No time limit. Big parking lot in the front. Very convenient. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Luray Caverns is definitely not accessible and can be very dangerous for anyone who uses a manual wheelchair, walker, etc. Power wheelchair - Forget about it! I called your main number on 8/7/2026 at 11:38am and the man I spoke to told me there was one moderate incline going in and the same moderate incline going out. Nothing about all of the steep inclines up and down and up and down walking around for an hour in the cave (about 20 or 30 steep inclines). But it was all good. We had lots of help from the other visitors. Our 22 year old son's Guardian Angel or Guardian Angels were working overtime when we were down there.

Large pumpkin patch you get any size pumpkins or they have an area with tent you can extra pumpkins in boxes all sizes shapes and colors and you buy ticket online or buy your tickets when you get there and the service is super awesome the people are so friendly happy and caring helpful and so kind and super helpful and they have super fun shop food and fun goodies it is really adorable everything is very organized clean and always sanitary and everything hers restocked always. Plus everything they are sale is home made fresh from the farm and the ground I appreciate the farmers so much for working 24/7 and 7 days a week making sure we have fresh food products! The farmers deserve have an day decided to them and or month and unbelievable people and they deserve extra credit for everything and their needs to farm fairs to celebrate them and plus they have family and all generations learning the tricks of treads of the farm life and thank you so much for bringing us joy and happiness and with all ur incredible work support for the community! I had heard good things about their pumpkin patch last year and wanted to check it out this fall…read more The pumpkin patches I've visited in the past didn't have an entrance fee and $10 felt like a bit much to pay per person (especially for a 2 year old!) But now that we've been I think that the amount and variety of activities justifies the price. It's also nice that everything inside is included in the admission fee. My three kids had a blast exploring all of the grounds with various cute playground structures, swings, and slides. Several gardens, a tug of war station, a zip line, a small petting/feeding area, bunnies to watch, giant jenga and connect four - all generously spaced out with plenty of shaded areas and seating for parents and grandparents to relax. The corn maze is large but not TOO large. We took a photo of the maze map and were able to make our way out in 15 minutes (we took our stroller in without a problem). The tractor ride up to the pumpkin patch was a lot of fun for the kids and the views are very pretty. They did a great job of sanitizing in between rides as well. You can pick your pumpkins from the fields or from the store - both options are $0.50/lb). One thing I wouldn't recommend is their food. While very reasonably priced ($3.50 for hamburgers, $2 for hot dogs, and $2 for fries) the line was excessively long, the food took forever to arrive, and also wasn't very good. (Have you ever had over-fried funnel cake? So sad.) Next time we'll pack our own lunch. *just a note: this year due to COVID19 there are no pig races and no train rides

It's very common for haunts to set up a long line and chase people through, which is okay if you don't really like haunted houses and just want to get it over with. But this place is different. They stick to small groupings which are very well spaced out. The rooms and make-up are great, but most important the actors really take ownership of their individual rooms and interact with you in a scary, but also fun, kind of way. Can't say enough about how much my daughter and I liked Darkwood Manor. Well worth the money and the drive!
