I say this both from my personal experience and from the perspective of someone who works in a related field and understands how rare genuine compassion and true skill can be when combined. Helene embodies both. She is not only caring, but deeply intuitive -- the kind of person who doesn't simply listen to your words, but understands what sits beneath them. She goes above and beyond for those she helps, meeting each person exactly where they are, without judgment or pretense. Her professional background is extensive and her knowledge evident, yet she leads with empathy before expertise -- and that balance is what makes her remarkable. Her office is a reflection of her spirit: calm, grounded, and safe. It is a space where vulnerability feels possible and healing begins quietly, sometimes even before a word is spoken. Helene doesn't just provide support; she helps you find tools, insight, and strength within yourself. She guides you through the hard work of change with patience and clarity. Because of her, I've experienced measurable growth -- in my own self-awareness, in how I handle challenges, and most importantly, in the renewed and healthier relationships I now have with my child and my husband. I will always be grateful for her presence, her wisdom, and the kindness that defines every moment spent in her care. Thank you Helene.

I have had the great pleasure of meeting Joy but also working with her over the course of 12 weeks…read more Now before I actually get into this review, I want to throw out a few disclaimers...Joy does NOT have a magic wand that will magically make your issues go away. Joy does NOT have the ability to do your work for you and lastly Joy does NOT by any means sell herself short on the services that she provides. Joy, you are an absolute god send. Seriously.... I have been thru various counseling all of my life but that didn't resolve my issues nor did it really give me the tools needed to actually resolve them. So since I had tried that previously and pretty much got the same result, I knew I had to try something different. So, what did I do? I went to my trusty yelp and reached out and received several responses. I had a few phone interviews because I needed to find the right person to help me thru some heavy stuff. I liked Joy right off the bat. You can simply tell by the tone in her voice that she is an angel. I signed up for 6 sessions with Joy...and after my 6th session, I signed up for 6 more. And I threw Joy some crazy challenges (nothing in my life has EVER been easy)....there were issues that she flat out told me she couldn't do anything about (I appreciate the honestly more than you know) and there were some issues where I really feel like I challenged her but guess what? SHE NEVER GAVE UP ON ME. SHE NEVER TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION (again she doesn't have a magic wand). Instead what I received was far far greater than any gift...Joy gave me the tools I needed to see where my deficiencies came from and also gave me some positive insight as to how to fix the behaviors and this is something I now work on EVERY SINGLE DAY and it's made me a better person. So if you feel like you are stuck, and don't know where to go, and you have tried traditional methods (and they haven't really worked) I would seriously urge you to give Joy a call...set up and appointment and more importantly work on your (O&*%(Q*&)%(. Joy, thank you again for everything. I'll be back after tax season and I've already started a list of things to work on when I return to your place...oh and Mr. Meowghee says hello!

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to write this one because Teresa has truly…read morechanged my life. When I first started working with her, I was in the middle of the hardest, darkest decision I've ever faced: leaving my narcissistic ex and all the fear of what would follow. I honestly didn't know how I was going to make it through. Teresa was the one who helped me find the strength, my voice, and my worth when I didn't believe I had any left. She is not the type of therapist who just sits there and repeats back what you've said in clinical jargon. She listens--really listens--connects the dots, identifies the patterns you're repeating, and then gives you actual tools to work with. She has this massive binder, filled with handouts and worksheets on everything you can imagine--organized by behavior, diagnosis, and pattern--and she pulls from it when something fits. She gives book recommendations, resources, and real-world strategies that I could take home and apply. Every session felt like progress, not just venting. What sets Teresa apart is her dedication. She's not lazy--she genuinely loves what she does, and it shows. She's constantly reading, learning, and keeping up with the latest research so she can bring fresh, informed perspectives to her clients. I always felt like she was giving me her best, not just "checking the box." She is warm and kind, and she remembers the smallest details--things I said months back that I had forgotten myself. But don't mistake her kindness for passivity. She isn't trying to be your "friend." She will challenge you when you're falling back into unhealthy habits or patterns, and she does it with honesty and compassion. It's never about shaming--it's about holding up a mirror so you can really see yourself, and then showing you how to change. In the past two years, I've changed more than I did in the previous four decades. Teresa has helped me understand the true meaning of co-dependency--beyond the oversimplified definition we all think we know. She helped me see that my 14-year relationship was toxic and abusive in ways I hadn't been able to name. She helped me recognize that my ex has a personality disorder, which explained so much of the distorted reality and self-blame I had been living with. She also taught me that I could rewire my own brain to undo the unhealthy patterns I thought were "just who I was." I used to label myself a people pleaser, someone who couldn't say no. Teresa helped me see the deeper issues at play and gave me the tools to start putting myself first. She's helped me quiet the inner critic that once ruled my life, and, maybe most importantly, she's taught me that I don't need to be perfect. Mistakes don't mean I'm broken--they mean I'm human. I can honestly say I would not be the person I am today without her guidance. If you're looking for a therapist who will show up, who will care, who will challenge you, and who will give you the tools to actually change your life--Teresa is that person.

A scam. Saw Bill Burg for a consultation surrounding my issues with self-medicating using alcohol…read more Upon entering I was rubbed the wrong way about this guy. He immediately showcased his alcoholics anonymous "regalia" as if I asked him to please show me all his medals. He seemed to be promoting AA and it made it seem unattractive. However, That didn't bother me that much because hey people are proud of being sober. What bothered me was his rather disrespectful tone towards myself and my very general inquiries about what exactly I would be paying for. And he pretty much let me know he was a "for-hire" sponsor for AA. WHICH IS COMPLETELY AGAINST THEIR TRADITIONS AND CODE. When I asked him specifically what could I get from him that I couldn't find in the rooms. His response was "more dialect and verbiage to use in the rooms and a unique route through the steps since I've failed before." Every interaction with a new sponsor you get a different experience. This is a joke. I knew he wasn't too truthful when he told me he never has a bad day and each day is better than the last. Everyone has bad days and if you don't, or think you don't, you might be delusional. I knew this place was unprofessional when I called the # posted online (for his office voicemail) at 6 AM to set up this consultation. He proceeds to rudely answer the call half asleep, mumbling to his wife and his first question to me is not how's everything going or why did I decide to seek out his guidance.. No, he instead asked me if I knew what time it was and why would I call that early to make an appointment? Take your house number off your website if you don't want calls at certain times. And finally, he ended the session after I told him he should be doing this for free he let me know that he couldn't help me anyways and I now needed a brain surgeon. lol. The "brain surgery" i sought out consisted of me leaving the rooms of AA (begrudgingly) and life has been just that, life. He was the last straw with that organization. A large # of AA folks are great and he just had the unfortunate spot of being one of my last straws. Try David Gust or Kent Morrison down the road at New Directions in Fair Oaks. They're the REAL DEAL. Seriously night and day comparatively. Do not pay for this forgery. He said he also does "pro bono" work in the rooms as a means of being of service. So find him in the rooms if you like him and ask for some help lol. Don't pay!!!!!

I hope to be going back soon, I still have my water color paintings she helped me push through to do, and it has given me a life long coping skill I never would have wanted to use, because I hated how I wasn't a great artist, and she taught me it wasn't about that, and hey, I've improved as well :) Thank you Gaylon, for everything. I hope to see you soon. I am 18 now, married and alive, and honestly, she's a reason for that.
