They also hire shoddy repairmen to fix issues one of which was the property manager's ex-husband...tell me there isn't possibly something shady going on with that. Flooring in my apartment has been replaced three times (subflooring included) and is now in the same shape, if not worse than right before repair. There is a problem underlying but they were too cheap to look into it. We even lost pest control services for a few months because they couldn't even pay the fee for that. Last insult was them sending a "bill" through their portal to every tenant for $250. The description in the message was "OWNER HELD SECURITY DEPOSIT". This was in the middle of a transition to a new owner and management company. I have confirmed that the new owner was not requiring additional security deposits from the current tenants and they had no knowledge of this. Even if the new owners did require this, they were not going to be managing the property anymore so we shouldn't have been required to pay it to them. Shady? Yes...we are checking into this. They are slumlords and that is being kind. I would suggest looking elsewhere if you need your property managed and if you are looking to rent and they manage the property...RUN!!!!

I lived at The Standard last year before moving off campus, but from what I've heard this place…read morehasn't really changed much since then. Long story short, living here is like living in a frat house, so if that's not what you're looking for then stay away. My main issue isn't with the staff, but with the other residents. Basically, this place is full of loud, obnoxious frat guys who are destructive and throw loud parties almost every night of the week. Every weekend, I would wake up on Saturday morning to find vomit and trash all over the hallways and there would usually be several holes punched in the walls. There was only one working elevator for a while because people were jumping and fooling around inside the other one and it broke. The walls are THIN- people on the other side of the building would throw raging parties and I could hear it clear as day, even with earplugs in. I had a lot of trouble sleeping because of this. Also, the coffee machine in the lobby broke during the fall and they didn't fix it until spring. I don't think it's a coincidence that they waited to fix it until prospective residents would be touring. This was my first time living in an apartment, so when I lived here I assumed it was just part of living in a student apartment complex. Now I live in a different student apartment complex and I'm not having any of these issues, so I know the issues I described aren't the norm. The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the students running the front desk were always nice and I could tell the staff members were working hard- the problem is that they're understaffed (I think they have 3 people to clean 8 floors) so they can't stay on top of these issues, and the residents are so nasty and destructive the staff just can't keep up.

Do not live here! The staff and management are so rude and unhelpful. The maintenance staff is a…read morecomplete disaster and bandaid fixes all of the issues. There are multiple holes a previous resident made in the doors and they half filled it. None of the facilities work. And there is a massive bug problem that they refuse to acknowledge. The building itself is very unsafe, most of the locks and parking garages are left opened or unlocked allowing anyone to be able to walk in. The mail room is a disaster and have lost/ruined multiple peoples packages. And if you have any issue with the things listed above management will make sure to do nothing. The price is ridiculous, the interior hallways are disgusting and dark, and the parking is very expensive although they refuse to ever lower or fix the gates. Also all the roads around the building are closed and there is loud construction noise 24 hours a day and this is not an exaggeration.

If you are looking to rent a place or have a place you need managed for renting you have to check out Keyrenter!! At this time it can be a pain trying to find a place to live that fits your budget and your needs. You also have to juggle the evil leasing companies and sketchy subleases so when we found this property in the neighborhood with our friends and a stones throw from UT campus we had to check it out. The house tour was super simple with an online scheduler and a wireless lockbox that opens to your code after sending in a pic of your license. Super cool to see tech starting to show up like this, making things easier. We had the pleasure of seeing the house with Dan present so we could ask questions and learn about the benefits that come with Keyrenter. We loved the house so we applied as soon as we could. The staff with Keyrenter were super communicative and made sure they got everything they needed from us for the application which was a painless process. After moving in things got even better. Dan was extremely nice and flexible with the move in times (which was great as we had a family trip scheduled right before move in). There was a kind letter and some house warming gifts from Dan and the owner that made us all feel more at home, even our cat Sushi got some treats. While moving in Dan made sure we had everything we needed and was great with communication. The old dishwasher wasn't working great and he immediately scheduled a repair visit and afterwards decided to replace the whole dishwasher with a brand new one! That was greatly appreciated. And the whole time Dan was communicating the status of everything. Also, with the Keyrenter benefits package you get some pretty sweet discounts and your filter replacements come automatically (when most properties never even do it, gross)!
