We'd gotten married in a friend's backyard a few months previous, but wanted to have a party for friends & family, and really had no idea about what we needed to do. Mhari came highly recommended, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Mhari took time to explain to us all the different options, what we could expect, and reminded us of stuff that we might have forgotten otherwise. She and her assistant showed up early, and were so unobtrusive, that people didn't realize she was there most of the time. We have some awesome "in the moment" photos that came out of the event, just genuine people having a good time. It came time for our personal photos, and we were whisked away to a few private areas of the grounds for the photos. Mhari is quite visionary, and can tell just from the mood and feel how things should work out. Even though our photos were "set up", they don't have a staged feel at all. One last bit... I absolutely hate having my picture taken - like many people do. But the thing is, Mhari was able to capture us in the moment, and I absolutely adore the pictures she took of us - even of me. Because we had such a good experience, and because neither of us have the gift that Mhari has, we asked her to put together a wedding book for us. She ran with it, and it came out perfect. Style: She doesn't over-process your photos with tons of blur/fade/Instagram-esque effects that so many photographers are using these days. Instead, you get clear, crisp, beautiful images that showcase your best self, not an airbrushed Photoshop version of yourself that will feel dated in a few years. Also, she took so many amazing candid photos that bring back the happy memories of our wedding and really capture the excitement and emotions of the day! Photo Ownership & Price: Mhari fit within our budget (around $3k), and made it really easy to add extra hours the day of. We also loved that for such a reasonable price, we own all the digital images (so many good photos!) and can post them as we please. So many photographers we looked at have weird rules about digital photo ownership. I love that she created an online gallery, sent me a zip file, and sent me a physical drive of the photos! She also got our photos back to us about a month after the wedding--I've seen it take much longer for friends who worked with other photographers, and I know she took a lot of care in editing our images. Jal Duncan has been doing our senior portraits and family photos for years. Our last sitting was…read moreslated for 16 adults & 2 toddlers, to be done the day after Christmas. In October, our mother was diagnosed with cancer and we anticipated that she wouldn't be able to sit with us in December. Jal met me at Mom's care facility, and got great photos of her, despite her discomfort, to be photo-shopped into the family photo after our sitting. He did the same for a 4 gen photo with me, my son and his daughter. He did marvelous work!!! Little ones are rarely easy to photograph, but despite a toddler on either side of the sitting, he popped off some great family shots. Mom passed, even before we got to see the proofs, and for me his photo-shop work to produce a complete family portrait, brought me some closure. I am proud to display the complete family, all wearing their best smiles, as well as 4 Gen photo on my walls. My daughter is an amateur photographer and Carole Meyer pictures spoke to her. My thoughts were, if she was happy, I was happy, and handed her a check. When I got the gallery though, I was blown away. The following year, we knew we'd use Carole Meyer again but this daughter wanted something a little bit different. Kandece, daughter of Carole Meyer and photographer, was more than happy to accommodate the request and the end results were stunning. I've had people ask me if her picture was a MAC ad because it's so beautifully striking. Today, I got the gallery for my youngest daughter's gallery and I found myself crying with tears of joy over how beautiful my child is. Kandece doesn't just "take a pretty picture", she captures their inner beauty. One of my other favorite things about her is she posts sneak peek pictures in record time. She sends you the gallery in amazingly quick timeframe as well. Considering how eager you'll be to see the photos; it's a testament to her professionalism and service. I'll be honest- she isn't cheap but she's worth it. And as the cliché goes, "You get what you pay for." Save up and invest in these photographs; they are worth every penny. Oh, and to note, she doesn't do just senior pictures she also does portrait, couples, and family photos. She handled our large and unruly family and wedding party with ease, getting wonderful candid shots, classy posed shots and capturing some of the really heartfelt moments of the day. We have so many gorgeous photos that I cannot decide which ones to print and frame! A good problem to have. Bridget was also a crucial resource during the month leading up to the wedding in helping us plan out the timeline. When we had to veer off the timeline a bit due to unforeseen delays, she was able to roll with punches and adjust as necessary. And, since so many of our guests were attending from out of town, we really wanted to spend as much time as possible with friends and family rather than running around for pictures by ourselves, and she made that happen. All of this and we still ended up with hundreds of great photos. I can't say enough about how great it was to have Bridget be part of our wedding!
