I usually do not review businesses or services (mainly a traveling restaurant guy as you can see in my status) ...... unless I feel it would really give back to fellow Yelper's or to highlight EXCEPTIONAL services or business. So here it is: I have been going to Dr. Yonks for a few years now, and so is my wife and kids. We are on a hybrid plan of insurance and "co-pay"/high deducible. Dr. Yonks and his staff make this seamless and easy and flexible. He has brought me through multiple injuries, a knee operation, and a MOST excruciating L3/L4 herniated disc issue and this was JUST in 2019!! He is more a physical life coach/trainer. I am a swimmer, cyclist, and racer/cruiser sailor and very frequent traveler on crappy planes, through airports and sitting and walking sometimes over 100,000 steps a week!!! Dr. Yonks and his office keeps my now 60 year old chassis swimming a few miles a week, cycling 20 to 50 miles a week, weight training and sailing for hours a week in season...........and with not only no pain, but great recovery and rehabilitation from self induced (smile) injuries or just plain old age. read more

I normally refrain from doing reviews, but I felt compelled to do this one. Specifically, I met Dr. Yonks at a wellness program being held at my community's clubhouse early in the year, at that time, he laid out in great detail the essential aspects of eating well and overall health management. Having a very rare form of Muscular Dystrophy FSHD, I was so impressed with his presentation, and made an appointment as a result. I started going to Dr. Yonks a few years ago when I had a problem with my back and I couldn't walk. He is knowledgeable and kind and knows what he is doing. After a while, I stopped because I was fine and went back again a few months ago because I was experiencing some pain which is now gone. I am on a monthly maintenance program. Recently my husband was diagnosed with deterioration of the disks in his neck. He only had 1 treatment so far and couldn't believe that he felt so much better. The application of moist heat and use of electronic muscle stimulation (with your approval) for about fifteen minutes prior to treatment is a great help in relaxing and healing. Dr. Brian Yonks and his staff are kind and courteous, and do their very best to help you feel better, and as comfortable as possible while you are there. He uses a variety of methods, heat/ice and stim as well as massage. But also importantly, he educates you on your condition and the ways in which you can help to improve it yourself with exercise and stretching. He is also concerned with healing the body as a whole, not just the spine. I have visited many chiropractors since childhood regularly for maintenance and find Dr. Yonks to be among the very best of them, giving the best gentle adjustments and knot relieving massage. For years he had been recommended to me by various massage therapists and friends in the area and I wish I had started with him sooner. I was T-boned in my drivers door in June of 2018 and suffered a concussion and neck injury when my head smacked into the window. I was barely able to turn or bend my neck without pain, not to mention the nausea, headaches, dizziness and inability to sleep. I was extremely frightened that my once active lifestyle was lost. I initially went to Dr. Yonks because I recalled his name from classes given in the area. The first visit I was greeted by friendly, knowledgable staff. After my exam and initial treatment, he carefully explained what was going on. He explained how I would learn exercises to I can help my condition while at home. I went to Dr. Yonks office pretty desperate. I had recently been diagnosed with occipital neuralgia and had been to several appointments with my neurologist to get nerve blocker treatments. These would leave me pain free for approximately 10 minutes after a process of 20 injections to my scalp and eye socket. I was told there was no cure and the only method of treatment was pain management via drugs. I refused to go that route, knowing the damage and destruction pain killers can cause. Fortunately, I conducted my own research and found that people suffering for occipital neuralgia found relief from chiropractors. That led me to Dr. Yonks office. Since I had never been to a chiropractor before, it's safe to say, I was skeptical. He sat with me for about an hour as I explained what I had been through. He assured me that I would respond extremely well to treatment. However from the level of pain I was in, I was doubtful. Now here I am, 2 months later and I'm 100% pain free. It wasn't immediate, but under his care the pain dissipated over the course of about 12 treatments. I barely remember how horrible and debilitating it was.
