I attended this location during the first week in January. At which point "veganuary" was in full swing. Now at the time, the menu was VERY vegan and vegetarian friendly but whether or not this was due to the date or is a normal staple, I'm currently unsure of. Now, the staff were friendly. The food was delicious. And the option of drinks were vaste. Upon receiving my food, I was handed a very dirty knife, which was quickly rectified when pointed out. Due to the professionalism it was handled with, I won't be docking any stars. The place is dog friendly and actually encourages the inclusion of dogs so if you have any allergies then I'd avoid. Though if you dont have any allergies to dogs then there's absolutely no reason to not stop by.

I was going to take a photo of my pint... But it's gone :p

If you're a craft Beer fan - this place is a MUST! Firstly... lets talk about the venue. So, again, this area in Birmingham is really hotting up as a great night spot. Directly round the corner from the train station, it's slap bang in the centre of town and has a great trendy vibe to it. The interior feels like a bar in midtown America, with hard wood and dark tones. There are booths and high tables for big and smaller groups. Downstairs is a real treat, as there is a hidey hole with mismatched furniture (perfect for a group of 20 or so). I should really get on to the star of the show - the beers. There is an amazing selection of craft beers on offer (not just Brewdog offerings) which changes daily. They know how each beer needs to be kept, so you are guaranteed a fresh, delicious pint every time. The food is also very good (and not too pricey). Even if you have been to a Brewdog bar before, each venue serves differently themed food and beers - so it's worth checking out. If you're unsure of what to go for, my current favourites are the 5am Saint and the Fake Lager - but they will do tasters if you want to try before you buy. The beer isn't cheap, but is worth it!

Here from California and so glad to pop in to Brew Dog. The staff are amazing. They know their craft beer and also are so impeccably clean. Whilst the brewtender was not busy with customers he was cleaning everything a nice thing to see. So glad to finally come here. Had the nachos so delicious. It's such a comfortable atmosphere. We will be back for a few more stops before going home. Brew dogs in US is a great show to watch. It's great to have a nice Craft Beer pub to come to. Be sure to stop in for done fantastic beer

BrewDog is a great place for craft beer, with tons of interesting home brews on tap and great guest beers available as well. They have all kinds of beer to suit every taste, from IPAs to dark stouts, including a gluten-free option and a low percentage one for designated drivers. They make a point of being an 'accessible' brewery with an option for everyone, which I think is awesome! The atmosphere is lively and unpretentious. There's plenty of seating, with extra seating downstairs and comfy sofas (though some need reupholstering). There are quite a few outlets available for people who need to charge up devices! Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is pretty good too! A short, to the point menu- I've tried the wings and fries, and both are fantastic (beware though, the wings are hot!) All in all a great place for a pint in Birmingham City Centre.

Thank you BrewDog for restoring my faith in English beer! This place is hands down my favorite watering hole in Birmingham. The menu is constantly rotating (no, you're not stuck between AmBev and Carlsberg!). The service is not the friendliest, but it's efficient and they don't serve food so who cares. On our first visit, several pumpkin beers were on tap. I chose to stick with the house made pumpkin because it was delightfully seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove in the brew. The beer was crisp and bright and at 3.50 a glass, quite the deal. The decor is a fun punk theme with trendy lighting. The seating leaves a little to be desired, unless you can snag the couches downstairs. Unfortunately, these were reserved for a group. The art is fun and the location incredibly convenient to New Street Station for an easy drunk train ride home.

Brew Dog is a cool place to hang out after work or a night out but beware you may never leave! And if you leave you may need a taxi or someone to carry you!, being a Ladeee I prefer the IPA's and paler beers or I'm partial towards the very tasteful Bourbons but don't expect to be standing after trying Tactical Nuclear Penguin of 32% so I here. The bar staff will happily pour a taster to try before buying. The food is also very good. It's difficult to find a seat on most occasions unless your there early evening or stand until one is available but worth the wait and great atmosphere and would say on most occasions it's failrly male orientated but then what can you expect with the finest beers and coolest place to hang out with mates.

Before BrewDog cemented itself into my life I was completely unaware of the "craft beer revolution" which was happening around the country. Ales and stouts were something old men drank in pubs with sticky carpets and bad decor and something I avoided at all costs. In stepped BrewDog. Opening at the end of 2012 and at the bottom of my apartment building on John Bright Street I couldn't help but take a gander at what it had to offer, and boy does it have a lot. There is something for everyone here. Even those that profess they do not like or drink beer can find something to enjoy, they also offer beer cocktails or wine if you can't handle a pint, 2/3 or 1/3. Yep, 2/3. Who knew? Though with beers ranging from 4% right up to 15% you can see why you might want a 1/3. You can also sample the beers before committing to a full measure. Just ask the staff, they are friendly and knowledgeable about the beers on offer, even the guest drafts which come from all over the world! They even serve food too! You can grab their daily specials, I had a beef stew using their IPA Hardcore beer during their live brewing event or try something from the main menu such as their delicious burgers. They also host music nights Thursday and Sundays as well as infrequent tasting sessions, so be sure to keep your eye out for them. So what are you waiting for? Join the beer revolution. You won't look at an ale quite the same again.

Brewdog has definitely settled right in as part of the ever expanding family of bars on John Bright street! Previously John Bright Street was pretty run down area of town only visited by young goths and rockers (me) who were taking advantage of the stupidly cheap drinks at Edwards. Since then the whole area has changed now being home to Turtle Bay, Cherry Reds and The Victoria. BrewDog has the type of minimal decor that I like with lots of concrete and neon signage. The range of beers available here is really impressive with an ever changing menu of options to choose from. My advice is chat with the bar staff and try and few of the beers before you buy....everyone I have met behind the bar is always more than happy to give you a taste of some of the lines to make sure you get the right pint. This is more a place I usually start a night before heading to somewhere like Island Bar, The Victoria or....The Nightingale but it's a great place to meet up especially on weekends when they have local djs playing all evening.

I've popped in here a couple of times before and it is ALWAYS busy. Brewdog is on John Bright Street and suits the area perfectly. The first time I visited I didn't know much about beer and was a little flummoxed. Staff kindly gave me a couple of tasters to try and I have seen them do this many a time. Brewdog was the first time I'd been into a BEER PUB and had someone really want to guide and help me. I expect it now, with places like Purecraft and Tilt, but Brewdog was the first time I experienced it. Flash forward a few years and last night I visited with a group of Yelpers. We had a pint and some food. I had some chips and a chicken wing (thanks Dan) and was quite surprised by how good the food was. The chips reminded me of chip shop chips but thinner. The wings were super hot but also sweet and had a good crunch. We had a mini beer tasting with one of the staff members. This was because we were with Yelp but staff are clearly happy to talk you through anything you're unclear about. He talked us through a variety of ales from light, gluten free Vagabond, Punk IPA, the malty 5am Saint and the CRAZY Jet Black Heart which tastes like an iced coffee. We even tried some of their fruit infusion, which was a little insipid though smelled lovely. What I really like is how inclusive Brewdog are as a brand. As I mentioned, they have a gluten free beer. They also have a super low alcohol beer for those who are driving. This isn't somewhere where they will look down their nose at you for not knowing about beer. The only problem is how busy it is, you can struggle to get a seat. They also do kitchen takeovers but again, these get very busy.

DELICIOUS BEER! (and delicious food). BrewDog has a unique offering of real beers, backed up by a good atmosphere and great food. Their passion for the perfect pint knows no ends and their attention to detail is second to none - pairing the food on their menu to with their beer. The friendly staff are always on hand and happy to help advice a cheese (any of the food on the menu for that matter) to go nicely with your pint. If you love beer, you'll love BrewDog!

Brew Dog were one of the companies spearheading the revolution in craft beer and their locations reflect the spirit of the company, an anti-establishment attitude with a core dedicated to design. As such it won't surprise you to see the bare brick walls, metal surfaces and slogans everywhere it's a cool place (literally sometimes) also it's well worth having a look downstairs, they have a "snug" area with sofas that is pretty cosy. Obviously beer is the way here and they do it well, the full selection from Brew Dog plus a variety of ever changing others, the staff really know their beer and are always happy to give out samples so ask freely if you want to try before you buy. I've not eaten much here but the food seems pretty good, if limited in selection, it should keep the hunger at bay while you quaff in any case. Also worth being on the lookout for kitchen takeovers, some of Brum's best street food vendors have taken up residence for an evening here.

Enjoying a pint of Raspberry Revolver @brewdogbirm

Pretty familiar with other Brewdogs in the land, it was great to see the Scottish beer experts opening up in Birmingham in December, and also in a location in real need of some 'life'. Being a one minute vicinity of the Victoria and the Island Bar, this little pocket of Brum is becoming a veritable heartland for a quality alcoholic bevvy! Indeed, Brewdog's contribution is to offer high quality beers to the Brummies looking to experience something worthwhile. Sure, it isn't cheap ... but that is reflective of the exclusivity and quality of what they are offering here. Each beer represents an adventure into the unknown for me. That's what makes it exciting. I don't think I would ever come in here and have the same thing twice. This place is most definitely the epitome of alternative. No Carling here - the beers come in different recommended quantities - reflective of what is the right amount for the drink. I'm not a beer expert but I had a Raspberry Revolver and my brother sampled one of the Italian offerings. It was a very pleasant affair on a very wet Wednesday evening. The decor is full of little anecdotes and jokes. The staff were into their beers and keen for the customer to reap the rewards of the experience. There is also a food menu offering an unfussy selection of offerings which I will try out again in the future. Welcome to Birmingham Brewdog!

    Not the most flattering shot!

Headed in for a proper pint before the perils of overpriced and poor quality lagers at our next destitnstion. As a staunce lover of Dead Pony I decided to mix it up with a Trashy Blonde and it was so very good. Not your cheapest pint, but worth the money in my eyes Service was quick despite the bar being 3 deep and the vibe was relaxed even though it was packed Only thing unwound have changed was the MC'ing as its just not my bag. Will certainly return

I have yet to try the food, so this review is reflective of the cocktails. The bar staff here are expert craftsmen. Every cocktail is made to perfection. The menu rotates seasonally, so enjoy a favorite until you pick a new favorite. If you like gin, this is the place for you. There is more gin on offer than I've ever seen in one place before. The upstairs even boasts a gin lounge with yet more selection. The deliciousness is in the details. Jekyll & Hyde made use of fun flavored alcohols, syrups, juices, herbs and spices. Each cocktail is shaken, stirred or muddled to be an explosion of flavor in your mouth and served up in a perfectly paired glass to suit. My first favorite drink here was called the Puss Puss Meow Meow. Served in a delicate tea cup, this drink was sweetie cute and oh so yummy. A fruity, fragrant concoction with floral gin notes. On the new menu I'm smitten with Strawberry Laces - served up with little twizzles of strawberry laces. Absolutely delicious. Also check out the French Connection - a warming drink which makes use of saffron gin and cinnamon. It tastes like a Sunday afternoon drifting through the warm countryside. The decor is well thought out and the tables and stools are adjustable for a pair or large group. It looks like a typical pub outside and is anything but inside.

The staff in here are excellent. I asked them to make me a non-alcoholic cocktail last night and was whipped up a gem for the eyes and tastebuds. However, again, if you don't get here in Happy Hour and want a cocktail - you're paying from £6.00+ - so not a cheap option for a night out. Last time I ate here (Booking is a must by the way, if you want to eat!), I had the Sea bass with Sanphire - which was fabulous. The Ginger cake dessert was lovely too. The lunch menu is quite reasonable (and there is a loyalty card scheme - meaning you can earn a free lunch if you eat out regularly). A MUST for Gin fans. Good for a night out with the girls or the start of a big night out. Aim for Happy Hour and keep in mind Thursday/Friday/Saturday is VERY busy (but - top tip - you can reserve tables in advance).

My friend is entirely obsessed with the Peaky Blinders series, so requested that we checked here out on our Birmingham jaunt. I didn't google or yelp it beforehand, and how I wish that I had! I had imagined a carefully researched themed bar, era appropriate, speak easy vibe, and maybe something special occurring with the final series imminent. However, what we got was cheaply dressed mannequins, t-shirts and waistcoats, oddly placed graffiti, a very run of the mill bar and the weirdest karaoke selection I think I've ever experienced (good on the woman singing Nightwish- 13 year old me would have been very happy, not perfectly executed though, shall we say). It all felt a bit *too* local, which I expect is amazing if you are, mind, and it seemed weird to me that the "speakeasy" behind the big bookshelf was closed on a Saturday night on a bank holiday weekend? It entirely feel like they've simply dibsed a name and tried to cash in on the popularity of the series, with the minimum effort that they could manage. I had themed parties as a skint student that I reckon had a greater budget and craft than this. It's a real shame as it almost stops an amazing one coming along and doing a better job. It's a laugh, but nothing more unfortunately.

I therefore had to give this place a try before I left - especially being a fan of The Peaky Blinders. I had passed by this place a few times when it was known as Confessions and it never really enticed me in. So, this time I was more hopeful! Stepping through the door your attention is drawn to the friendly looking bar tender dressed in (roughly) Peaky Blinder style hat. The next thing I noticed was a mannequin also dressed (roughly) Peaky Blinder style. Now for some the mannequins could be considered bizarre, I however am from a small town which considers one of its prime tourist attractions to be a shop decorated with very bizarre looking mannequins! There are a few more of these mannequins type things around the place adorned with a flat cap, and accompanied by instructions not to touch and that offenders will be instructed to leave! The bar area itself is one average size room, it was relatively clean and populated by older gentlemen of varying mental capacity. There was at least one sat alone having a full conversation with himself. The bar itself had nothing special to offer, just the usual bulk items, Carling, Strongbow (original and forest fruits) and Guinness. A simple selection of bottles were stocked in the fridges, the best of which seemed to be bottles of Magners. As for the "Peaky Blinder" theme. Well, I was pretty disappointed. This clearly just an attempt to cash in on the show, with very little actual connection. A few cap clad mannequin's and few pictures on the wall which seem to be screen grabs from the show. So much more could be made of the theme which would no doubt attract loyal fans. This place just doesn't cut it as a themed venue. Its an OK pub but that's about all it is.

The pie flavors available Friday just didn't stand out for me, so I tried their gnocchi and a glass of tempranillo (full-bodied red from Spain) instead. The food was a solid 4 stars. The ambiance and drink were 5 stars. The gnocchi had good subtle potato flavor and the texture was a standard slightly chewy pasta that I've come to expect outside of Italy and the Italian enclaves of New York. I'm always searching for more melt in your mouth pillowy gnocchi, but this was a solid representation of standard gnocchi. The gnocchi was served in a creamy tomato vodka sauce and topped with fresh local mozzarella and a garnish of greens. The portion was very filling and well worth the price. The tempranillo was wonderfully full-bodied with a lovely balance of fruitiness and spice. I like that Old Joint Stock offers wine in small and large glasses or by the bottle. I chose the large glass, which is plenty to accompany dinner and dessert, if you somehow have room for dessert. The dessert menu looked amazing - I'm definitely going back to try something. Old Joint Stock offers a luxurious old-world charm that just beckons you to come spend an evening enjoying good food and drink. The church library, turned bank, turned pub has kept it's original splendor in tact, with heavy brocaded draperies, faux marble walls, high painted ceilings, and antique seating arrangements.
