Here I am in the jury room, so far the place is not treating me bad and there are no rats visible to rip my nylons (well actually they are Dolce & Gabbana socks in multi color but that's not the point). So I came in the line where men and women are separated and you of course have to take off all items like belts and jewelry. I seriously thought that my pants were about to fall right down to the ground, good thing I have on the new CK's you know, just in case I am discovered to be the next CK model. Of course I would take out Justin Bieber's new campaign because ummm no air brush needed here. But any-who, the court house consist of various buildings but the one I am attached to for the day is clean, brite and quite accommodating. On the jury room they have several sections to hang out in, as I am sure this experience will be a good one, I still hope not to be choose as I do have prior commitments later on in the evening. The vending machines have plenty of sugar products to wire me up to the high heavens, so if chosen, I will never shut my mouth! Parking is beyond ample and if you have to come to a court house, I would assume this one would match the lot of them. So remember, being change, a book, a lap top, an iPad or snacks to get through the day, as this will be a very long but pleasant one I am sure.

Worst Police department in existence. Instead of serving people you become the victim. On July 13,…read more2024 I had to call the police to get a man off my property. He left before the police came, then 10 minutes later he called the police and they told him to come back to my property which is unprecedented and absurd. Upon coming back I had to call the police again. I then had to argue with both police officers as to why would they make such a heinous mistake which they had no absolute explanation for 30 minutes. They left after I explained to them how the law works. This should never have to happen to anyone, but we still live in a time when people value a authority position which messes up their head in understanding law and the truth.

Thanx End "Zero Tolerance" vehicle seizures during traffic stops. Call or Visit Representative William Davis (D) - General Assembly (96th)1912 W. 174th Street East Hazel Crest, IL 60429 phone number (708) 799-7300 Springfield Office: 246-W Stratton Office Building. Springfield, IL 62706 phone number (217) 782-8197 On July 9th 2022 I was at Illinois Secretary of State to renew my license plates. I knew I needed insurance but I didn't know if I needed S.R 22 or Liability. I was told at Secretary of State my license plate was suspended. I went to my vehicle and called to make sure which insurance I needed. I had the money to get insurance over the phone and to renew my license plates. Because the operator said my wait time was 18 minutes I decided to drive home until someone answered. When I came out the Markham police were sitting at the entrance. There is only one road in and out so you have no choice but to pass the officer. This is a traffic TRAP. I was pulled over and my vehicle was seized. I am a single mother of three unemployed college student who graduated May 14th 2022. I had a job interview later that afternoon that I was unable to make. I explained to the Officer that I was on the car phone with the Secretary of State attempting to get the correct insurance and pay to renew my plates. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor came and told me to take personal responsibility for my car being seized. I said that is why I am here to take responsibility and you are taking my vehicle rendering me unable to obtain employment to take care of myself, my family, and to pay the state of Illinois their driving taxes. The Supervising Officer replied "Zero Tolerance". Mind you we are in a pandemic many people are still unemployed or underemployed. Furthermore, the war between Russia and Ukraine has greatly increased the cost of gas and food. The supervising officer sarcastically said if you don't like "Zero Tolerance" then let your state representative know. So here is the first step Please sign this petition to End "Zero Tolerance" of vehicle seizures during traffic stops in Illinois. By signing this petition We the People of Illinois stop traffic traps and poor families from loosing a critical asset. The Zero Tolerance policy disproportionately hurts Black, BIPOC, and elderly persons. This policy renders many heads of household unable to safely and securely obtain and maintain employment. Leaving thousands of Illinois families in poverty. Sign the petition and call your state of Illinois Representative including State Representative William Davis. #EndZeroTolerance Thank You

The most impressive thing that I noticed, was the perfect "People Skills" that each of them, posess, at every station of operation! It was a JOY, to NOT find "PERSONAL FEELINGS", interferring with the information, directions, etc. THAT says to ME, that the: "kind spirit of love for HUMANITY", is priority. That feature is LACKING, in the majority of most employees, and businesses. Service, not ATTITUDES! Kudos, to Markham Courthouse facility!

It was not terribly busy yesterday and I was able to take care of my court business fairly quickly and leave. It seemed to be a fairly slow day (which is not always the case). Telephone calls to the courthouse are best made early in the day, around 11 a.m. and NOT at days' end (4:30 p.m. though it can be earlier). Activity in the courthouse picks up around 2 p.m. The phone system for the most part works okay. If you have a direct number, it really helps. Given the amount of people that come to the courthouse I think the employees are helpful especially in giving directions to courtrooms and other administrative departments. I am a retired legal assistant so some of these items are fairly familiar. I think the various Clerk of Cook County webpages have been updated over the years. They can answer some but not all questions but access to a computer and having an inquiring mind concerning the court computer system and what can be done online and what cannot be done would be required to obtain the needed information. There are some items that an attorney or other legal staffperson would need to be involved in. In some occasions it might be necessary to go to the courthouse to pay fines, pull up documents and get answers to questions if needed. Good luck.
