Oh wow! I spent my Sunday Morning at BreathCamp to get my BLS/CPR certificate and let me tell you it was amazing. Brent is awesome, he is a great instructor and great Human. BreathCamp is located in the second floor, once you open the door you will immediately be greeted by Brent, who is a full energy and will make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Everyone gets the chance to introduce themselves and you get to say why are you there, which is awesome to break the ice. Brent really made the class so chill and nice. We were bringing mannequins back to life with songs by Nirvana, Queen, Amy Winehouse, etc. My favorite part was when Allie came out to say Hi! She is the cutest doggo and she made sure she said hi to everyone. There is a small parking lot available, but I parked on Ventura Blvd. there were plenty of spots available. I have never had as much fun as I did today in this First Aid/CPR class run by Brent. The energy was amazing, and the time passed by so quickly, without realizing it. He uses music to help with compression speeds etc, which is awesome, and it hyped us up to just keep going. You never felt silly answering a question, his energy is off the wall amazing, he is all about feeling comfortable in the class whilst engaging with the activities needed for the certification, so it was a real easy class to finish up and certify the online part that you do at home first, before you arrive in class. He knows his stuff incredibly well, and I was sad when it ended! And to top it all, he does dog and cat cpr classes also! So all you animal lovers out there, a nice way to spend an hour or two and then pop into Casa Vega next door after for a well deserved margarita! read more

Brent is a fantastic instructor! I was really nervous to renew my CPR/first aid license because it's been many years. My mom and I came together and had such a good time! He explains everything in detail and makes the class very fun. It's nice that he doesn't make you feel dumb if you don't understand something on the first try, second try, or even the third try. The first thing I noticed upon walking in is that it was freezing in there (a positive given it's nearly 100° out today and you get a good workout during the class). It was also spotless in there, everything was laid out perfectly, and he's kind enough to offer drinks and snacks. I was excited to learn he also offers a dog and cat CPR class which we are definitely going to attend. I've already told quite a few people about it and hope they join me as well. Thanks for such an awesome class and being an amazing instructor. There is a reason why every single rating is five stars! We came to this class from Ventura County and plan to return here every two years when we need to renew our certification. read more

Amazing! I've taken a few BLS/CPR classes and super happy that BreathCamp was available. I found them through the American Red Cross website and happy to see many different available time slots. There is a parking lot or also plenty of street parking on Ventura Blvd. Brent is very enthusiastic and explains all the concepts you learn online in an easy to understand way. He doesn't make you feel weird if you don't remember an answer Also I must add that previous certification classes did not have adult and baby dummies that were advanced as the ones here. I totally appreciate that the adult dummy had light indicators to show if your compressions were at the right pace/depth and that the dummy actually shows the chest rising and falling. Definitely makes you more prepared for real life situations in my opinion. Or at least more comfortable to prepare for an emergency! Must add the fact that Brent has covid precautions on lock. We wore masks during class and he had us all wear gloves + a plastic disposable most protector for the dummy when we practiced the ventilations. Thanks so much! I will definitely be recommending to fellow colleagues and anyone who needs to get their BLS/CPR certified. I've done quite a few years of BLS classes for health care professionals and this is seriously the best one yet! You can do the hybrid class where you take the online portion first before arriving. Brent is sensational. I learned an immense amount of sacred information of how to care for my animals and any animal within a couple of hours! Let me back up and share my experience upon first entering his gorgeous space...he was there to greet me with a warm smile and his backdrop was this immaculate. High-ceiling studio with great lighting and perfectly organized yoga mats lined up with giant plush doggies and necessary supplies we would use during our class. He encouraged each of us to talk about our animal babies and asked what brought us to his class that morning. My reason was that I want to have the confidence and knowledge for what to do in case of any animal emergencies, Then we got to hear about Brent's beloved animal babies- beautiful 17 year old Nema and mini pit bull, Allie. He told us his wonderful, heartwarming stories of how he and they collided and then we got to meet Allie! I was choked up as she sauntered around the studio, hamming it up while we cheered for this sweet mama. Brent is such an incredible, loving human and animal dad. His passion and love comes through powerfully while he shares his wisdom and brilliance and teaches us! I now know what to do if an animal is choking, having a seizure, ingested poison; how to properly wrap a broken leg with a DIY tourniquet; I have an invaluable ap now installed on my phone with everything I need to know; very important items to add to my homemade first aid kit. I know how to do CPR! And how to do it correctly- there are different methods for different dogs and appearances of dogs! We practiced CPR compressions and breaths to the beats of inspirational music! So helpful and fun! I was emotional during the course- every new lesson we learned- especially the CPR, I imagined it was the actual, real moment- one of my precious babies was in need of me to save their life and I was empowered now with the right tools, thanks to Brent! What a fabulous experience we had at BreathCamp with Brent! He was SO energetic, enthusiastic and encouraging. He made this experience so much fun. There were no stupid questions or stupid answers and he made everyone feel at home. He also made it a point to get to know everyone in the class and provided personalized attention to our techniques. The facilities were SUPER clean and COVID friendly. It felt very very safe in these challenging times. Also, Brent was kind enough to provide an AMAZING selection of drinks and snacks. Seriously the snack game was on point - SkinnyPop, Lara Bars, Belvita, Oreos, Nutter Butters, etc. Seriously such a nice touch for this class! Another nice touch was the really fun music! Best CPR class ever! My friends and I needed to get our BLS renewed in a pinch, and we were able to sign up for this class the day before which was extremely convenient. Due to COVID, part of the class was online prior to arrival. Our instructor was named Brent, and he was wonderful from start to finish. He helped everyone stay engaged and feel comfortable during the class. The site was fully compliant with social distancing and everything was sanitized prior to our arrival. In addition, the playlist was amazing. It was so great to hear something other than Stayin Alive during BLS!!! A special touch was that there were lots of snacks and drinks available for us. There was a full fridge with water, seltzer waters and juice, as well as oreos, popcorn, lara bars, etc! The training was wonderful, and Brent made sure to go over all the key points from the online portion of the course as well. He also went through real-life scenarios with us, in the event we have to use these our skills. After this class, I feel totally comfortable using these skills if necessary!! read more

Wonderful way to learn first aid and keep certification up to date! I'm adding at least one friend or family member each year.

I appreciate the hybrid class structure. It's better than sitting in classroom for 4hrs. We got to do the online modules/test on our own time at home (or wherever you have access to a computer and internet) self paced and then did the physical skills review in class the next day. Both take about 2-2.5hrs. Brent is a great BLS instructor. He was very engaging, and we we were able to spare 30 mins of class time due to everyone being knowledgeable and participating with enthusiasm. Would recommend for BLS certification and renewal. read more

Fantastic. This would be my fourth time doing a CPR class in the last six years. Each time before this I always left unconfident that I would know what to do in an emergency, whether it be because the instructors assumed too much of our knowledge or they just blew past the content to get done sooner. This time with BreathCamp it was a breath of fresh air (no pun intended, lol). The premises was very neat, clean, and professional. Brent, our instructor, was energetic, funny, patient, and thorough. It seems Red Cross has very little to do with the quality of the in-person classes but stumbling onto BreathCamp was a stroke of luck ;) Also, do Red Cross' mix of online/in-person. The online curriculum is laid out very well - almost like a video game. It is interactive and allows you to go at your own pace. I liked it so much I did it twice. When it comes to the theory, I thought this format was much better than an in-person format due to the stress, time constraints, and susceptibility of human (instructor) compromise. This online portion could have been dull and unengaging, but it was actually a home run. Kudos to Red Cross on getting this right at least. The final in-person session with Brent was a good way to solidify what I had learned. read more

Today I came prepared with a big mug of matcha thinking it would be the only way I'd get through another cpr class but honestly I didn't even need it. This is my second time renewing my BLS via BreathCamp. My first experience was so great that I knew I had to come back! I seriously love this place. Brent is so kind, lovely, and encouraging. I love that he motivates without belittling or making anyone feel stupid, which I've experienced in some CPR classes. The classroom is SO clean and the equipment is all in perfect condition. It's a welcoming atmosphere instead of feeling like a stuffy classroom. Bonus: there are snacks, drinks, and coffee! Best place to do your CPR/first aid/AED certification. The place is set very nice , super clean, and pleasant to spend the 2 hours of the training. Nice choice of coffee, tea, water and light snacks are set for you. Brent the owner is amazing! Very energetic and dedicated to make sure you understand the material and enjoy the learning process.
