War an einem Sonntag nachmittag dort, es war gut besucht. Der Innenbreich ist sehr klein und eher dunkel gehalten, aber die mit Schirmen geschützen Tische auf dem Platz sind einladend. Das Menü setzt sich aus diversen Klassikern zusammen, die schon mal häufiger wechseln. Die Karte ist nach "Fleischsorten" gegliedert, was mir schon mal gut gefällt. Von Schnitzel über Pasta und Salaten bis hin zu Rindersteaks wird einiges geboten, aber die Karte ist (gottlob) nicht riesig. Ich entschied mich für die Schweineleber mit geschmorten Zwiebeln, Kartoffelpüree und Zwiebeljus, dazu ein frischer gemischter Salat. Die Leber war zart und innen noch rosa, wie es sich gehört. Leider gibt es am Tisch keine Möglichkeit nachzuwürzen, etwas Pfeffer hätte ich gerne zugegeben. Aber alles sonst im grünen Bereich. Der Service ist freundlich und flott unterwegs. Preise sind innerhalb des ortsüblichen Rahmens, die Leber war sogar günstig (€10,80). Gerne wieder.

Tonight was no exception!Found Römerburg for dinner tonight along with my husband, mom and daughter who is last year in College ( and very opinionated)! The owner named Bernardo seated us at a great table! Felt instant chemistry with our new a German Friend. We laughed, learned about his family who worked there. Great drinks were serve to all of us, had a little flammkuken as an appetizer which hit the spot. From The awesome hearty soup , to the pork, beef cheek special that came right from his wife who does all the kitchen quality. Prices are double compared to inland restaurants. Still worth it. Bring cash/ no cards accepted! Bring coins for bathroom access. Remember to return your beer glasses to retrieve your deposit!!! (It's added automatically to your bill)- so easy just to walk off once you're done.... Mustard, mayo & ketchup cost money. With all of my other experiences behind me, I have to say that both currywurst and bratwurst were good but not amazing. I think I liked the currywurst a little more though I wish there had been more heat and less sweetness. That's just my personal preference. The fries were great. For some reason anytime I had fries or potatoes in Germany they tended to be pretty great. As for the experience, it wasn't too posh. You're eating outside off of a plastic tray. They give you silverware but it's just a step above fast food like eating at a cafeteria or a camping ground. I'm not sure how well they speak English here (or if they're pretending they can't speak English). I asked for soda and the woman said "we have soda" while staring blankly at me. She didn't respond to my questions about what kind of soda they had so I just asked for flat water instead. She filled up a glass with what I thought was soda and later realized was carbonated water. It was disgusting. Oh well. I think the food is a bit average for what you're paying for it but if you're in the area I suppose there aren't very many other options.

As a vegetarian, I had the ravioli one night and the pesto pasta another. The other 5 in my party had pretty much everything on the menu, and we all raved about it. The main course comes with a generous portion of salad (one night the salad was a tomato salad, one night a leafy green salad). Both nights we devoured the salads and couldn't believe the size or quality of them. Alex, the server, was so kind and helpful. It was truly a remarkable dining experience. The restaurant is right near the bahnhof and if you can't find street parking there is a nearby garage. The food, service and ambiance were just as we remembered. We were greeted and welcomed by a hostess, server and even the owner. You can tell there are a lot of regular local customers. We had lunch specials that included tomato soup. The schnitzel was thin, light and perfectly prepared and so were the fries. Some of the best I've ever found. Worth a stop anytime we're near Koblenz.
