I like loads of the shoes in here, and have bought some on many occasions, they seem to stock different shoes than elsewhere, which is good as I like shops who look for something different to interest customers. The guys who run the shop are really friendly and as its a small shop, they don't have much trouble seeing to everyone quickly and efficiently. It is however still an independent shoe retailer, which focusses on quality brand footwear built to last. It has a large glass front to the building which is always set out well showing some of the ranges from the brands stocked, such names as Gabor, Geox and Ecco are usually represented. When you enter there is a vast display of footwear for Men, Women & children - they have a very good fitting service with trained staff. They also stock high end bags and accessories and of course every type of shoe cream and potion imaginable. Together with this the service is fantastic, you are served promptly with a smile and the products are great.

This branch is split over two floors, with women's clothing, shoes, bags, and a few seasonal decorations on the ground floor. Upstairs, they have men's and children's clothing, toys and games, ornaments, kitchenware, lighting etc. TK Maxx seems to have a reputation (at least on the television) as being a brilliant place to buy designer clothing on the cheap. Well, I can't really dispute that as I don't bother much with the clothing. To be honest, I find it all a bit of a jumble, hard to find the right sizes, and to my mind the stuff is still over-priced! However, I do like TK Maxx for toys and for household items. I've managed to buy some real bargains int he toy department. The problem is, like the clothing, I suppose, it just depends on what they get in. You have to rummage around and you may find a single item that you like, but they will only have one of them most of the time! I did manage to get a lovely star shaped light-shade for about £6, which I know was £18 in B&Q (because I had already bought one!). So I would definitely recommend having a look round this shop - you could find bargain. The only real downside is the check out queues. I don't think I've ever been in without there being a long queue for the check outs, and it feels like it takes ages to get to the front! Oh, and the other thing I don't like is that they charge you for carrier bags!

Inside, they have a really nice range of shoes and boots. They are set out in the style of a pile-'em-high-sell-'em-cheap type of shop, but they still have some nice shoes. I very often end up buying more than one pair because I can't make up my mind and the prices are really very reasonable. They also sell bags, sports bags, a bit of jewellery, and the occasional accessory like fancy scarves.

However I have found the quality of some of the shoes quite poor, especially those for my daughter. I bought her some new school boots there a couple of weeks back and they were runied within one day of her wearing them for school. although I wouldn't expect them to last too long as I only paid ten pounds for them, but I would have thought they would have lasted for more than one day! I don't intend to but any more shoes for my daughter from here; I think that the prices are good but the quality is very poor, and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.
