To her credit there was one visit where I was feeling very overwhelmed and emotional and she did show kindness in that moment, which I truly appreciated. I also understand that early on my son needed frequent check ups and the office was trying to accommodate us by squeezing us into the schedule. However the wait times were often very long sometimes an hour to two hours in the lobby, followed by additional waiting time once we were in the exam room. As a brand new mom with a newborn less than two weeks old that experience was extremely overwhelming. I do appreciate that they were making an effort to fit us in and continue monitoring my son but the scheduling could have been managed better. If we were being squeezed in it would have helped to do so at times where the wait wouldn't be quite as long, especially given how challenging those early days can be for new parents. Overall I didn't always feel the level of consistency, warmth, and communication I was hoping for during visits. Because of that I ultimately decided to switch to another provider who was a better fit for my needs. I appreciate the care that was provided but this just wasn't the right match for me and my family.

But if your team listens, there are numerous parents on here trying to tell you something is wrong. Please, try to do what is right for the kids Dr. Castillo, ego aside, the kids are all that matter. My son deserved to be seen the first time he was in there. Seen as a unique individual with his own life that just begun. You did not see him, you only saw me and my wife as overprotective parents, and judged my son from that. My son, and every one of you patients deserve better than that from you. If you cannot change the way you judge or speak with parents, then that is ok. Just please consider changing to caring for Adults or some other field.

I have never left his office questioning his decision or feeling like more should have been done. Dr Mayo is kind, friendly, knowledgeable and remembers details about my kids everytime we see him. Anytime we have a medical issue he takes care of it 100%. I just wish he would take on a few parents as a our primary care Dr!

We would never think about seeing any other doctor for our daughter's care. She has always been so thorough with educating us, taking her time with us, having a caring disposition, and such a peacefulness about her. My review does not do her justice. We could easily see a local pediatrician, but choose to drive the city over to have her care for our daughter. I have told my husband that if she saw adults then I would, with a doubt, have her as my doctor. She is not only a brilliant mind, but a sweetheart. Bedside manner is huge to us.
