Many…read moremembers of my family and my friends have been brining our vehicles to that location for over a decade, as it was formerly owned by Henry and Joe. In all the years, I never had a single issue with H&J. They were mechanics with integrity. The new owner of "J&J" lied to me several times throughout my first experience under his command. When confronted regarding the initial lies, he constructed more lies. Expect him to "find" problems with your vehicle and expect an inflated bill because of it. Do not expect him to have your vehicle ready when he agrees to. Do not expect a courtesy call to inform you that it's not actually ready yet either. Expect no one to answer the phone at the shop for hours after the agreed upon pickup time. Above all, expect him to prioritize his road service over your scheduled appointment and to lie about the reasons your service was delayed. These interactions are difficult to summarize into words. Something you unfortunately understand following a first hand experience. If you want to feel like you were taken advantage of and lied to, this is your guy. The new owner of J&J recently acquired this business. Most of the positive google reviews are older and should be credited to the former owners only. Those guys were worth their weight in gold. His recent positive reviews are clearly orchestrated to offset the incoming negative feedback.

Kraken Towing contacted me and told me the driver had another vehicle on the truck, but would be there within an hour. Brian from Kraken called me again and told me he should be there soon, he just closed the previous ticket. AAA texts me and tells me the driver is on the way and will be there within 20 minutes. It's now 12:30. 12:45 Brian from Kraken calls and tells me, sorry there's an issue w the car that's on the truck now the place he's dropping it off is giving him issues having to move cars around. I tell him, per the AAA app, he's 3 minutes away- he said I don't know why the app is saying that. I said how long, he said I'm not sure. I call AAA again at 1:15. They tell me he should be there any minute it's showing in the app he's down the block. I told them the towing company told me that he's stuck at a yard. AAA says let us call the dispatcher we will get back to you. 1:30, dispatcher says he will be there in 10 minutes. 2pm I call AAA again. I tell them it's way past the 10 minutes and still no tow. It's hot out, I'm hot I'm overheated and it's now 2 1/2 hours since I first called. Finally Brian from Kraken calls me back and tells me he will be there in 3 minutes - about 2:15 - 2:30 the driver finally shows up. I mean I expect to wait for a tow a reasonable amount of time but almost 3 hours is ridiculous - I understand things happen but one hand doesn't know what the other is doing with AAA. I'm also not sure why Kraken took the job if they knew their driver was that busy- The tow driver was quick, got the van right on the bed and got it over to the mechanic. Also AAA will tell you that you can ride w/ the Tow driver- the driver told me no they can't for insurance reasons- so beware when booking a Tow- it's not the first time I've heard that from a Tow driver- so double check it-

After a terrible experience with my GEICO adjuster, Kim and Stephen steadfastly had my back, when I was being bullied by the insurance company I had been using for over 20 years. Check out how much they get for "storage" of your vehicle just for starters, then go elsewhere where integrity is still prioritized. It is fair to expect common decency, but not here. The old guy's tact & decorum are elusive as well. I am obviously not the only one who would avoid this shop. Please notice how often this place has "help wanted" on its sign. Think about that. I got into an accident and went through Insurance to have my vehicle fixed. The job was done well cosmetically from what I could see. However, about a year and a half later, I had another incident and the second that my front bumper was damaged the paint immediately flaked and chipped away. When I brought my truck to two different shops to get quotes to have the work done, the FIRST THING out of both of the managers mouths at each shop was "Who painted your bumper"? When I tell you that it was the first thing out of both of their mouths I am not lying. I told them who it was, and that the reason I went to them was because they got such amazing reviews on Yelp. They both told me obviously that the bumper was not primed and prepped at all and that it was just simply painted. The bodywork, etc. that was done to my vehicle from what I can see was done correctly. I was not told otherwise. But the painting of my replacement bumper was half ass. You would expect that simple things like that are done correctly. I really wanted to leave them a good review and to be honest with you I wouldn't have known any difference had I not gotten into a second fender bender. But I'm glad that the other two mechanics pointed it out to me immediately. I had asked for a quote when I was there to fix a small dent in my trunk and I was quoted $1200 from Bona Fide. I found another gentleman that's been doing bodywork for 40 years and he did it for 250 bucks and did a phenomenal job. If you're gonna be a retail shop that charges retail prices you better do quality work front to back.
