This was the worst experience I've ever had with a motel... and I've stayed at motel 6, the rodeway inn, days inn, and the clarion back when the building behind it was abandoned, yet STILL, this was a worse experience than those places combined.
During my stay, the room was in poor condition, including obviously flagrant stains on the bedding and towels, visible mildew and possible mold in the bathroom, cracked tiles, deteriorating grout and caulking, stained fixtures, dirty ventilation, and overall lack of proper maintenance. These issues were present throughout my stay and were not caused by me.
I was also denied access with my service animal, despite repeatedly explaining that under federal law service animals do not require registration or documentation. Staff insisted that I provide paperwork and would not allow my dog until an online certificate was produced -- something that is not legally required and should never have been demanded.
I was blamed and warned for noise disturbances that never even came from me or my room on or about the second week of my stay. I thought it had been cleared up after speaking with staff, but the guests who were actually responsible remained, (still noisy I should add,) despite having warned ME I would be removed if the noise continued. I later received a vague "noise disturbance" notice with no times, details, or explanation. I was never told exactly what behavior was supposedly occurring, nor given a real opportunity to address it. Staff provided inconsistent information (providing at least three different excuses, later sticking to "a reservation" for the room was made), and management made decisions fairly quickly without ever speaking to me directly, despite my efforts to dispute and resolve the unknown issues.
Ultimately, I was asked to vacate without being given a clear reason or proper explanation. Upon returning the keys, I asked for written verification as to why I was asked to vacate, and was met with "I don't have anything (to give me)." Communication between staff and management was extremely poor, and most encounters with front desk was unpleasant at best. I felt unfairly blamed for issues that were never substantiated nor caused by me. This entire stay has left me mentally and emotionally exhausted and now without a clear idea of where I will obtain safe shelter for the next few winter nights.
I would not recommend this property to anyone seeking a safe, clean, or professionally managed stay. I would recommend the homeless shelter I work at before even thinking about recommending the Bramble tree. read more
