refused to use the part purchased in the building that they also get their parts. the part they purchased failed right after warranty and they refused to remedy the situation. came up with every excuse to not work on it. highly discourage anyone to use them. horrible customer service. acted like I was upsetting them returning a vehicle their part failed on. willing to push vehicle in garage to fix nonrelated brake issues but not willing to push the the truck from the parking stall to the garage to fix the part that failed they supplied. Had an appointment for 3:00pm, car didn't get on the rack until after 4:00pm, no problem. I get my car back after brake service to hear clunking so I return to have it adjusted, no problem. I leave again to go home, after 5:00pm. I get home and try to park my manual car, some numb nuts thought loosening the emergency brake was a good idea, now I can't park in neutral without sliding down hills and no one capable is at the shop to fix the problem they created half an hour later. I love this location. I live in Manitou and drive to this spot for the best service. Any time I have an issue with my car(s) the staff listens and diligently applies their attention to what I am concerned with. They're not trying to make an extra buck off you. The prices are also far better than competitors. They offer coupons on their website 24/7 and email deals for maintenance and essential services. Last time I brought my Suzuki Samurai in for an alignment, I noticed they fixed my steering wheel without request or extra charge! That made my day. My truck needed new brakes, I could hear them starting to make noise. I took it in to get an estimate from BrakesPlus. They said I needed new pads and the front rotors done. I said ok. They called me back later and said that work was done but the brake pedal felt very squishy and there was to much pedal movement. They then kept the vehicle longer to further diagnose the problem. Right before closing I called them for an update. He said he wanted to keep it overnight so the lead mechanic could take a look at it in the morning because he thought I may need a new master cylinder which was 1K. I thought oh crap. I then thought about it and asked myself why would the pedal feel any different with them just changing the pads. The next morning I said I wanted to test drive it before they did anymore work. I had to pay for the service they had done before they would let me test drive my truck. When I test drove it it was perfectly normal! I had my wife drive it too and she said it felt fine. Thank goodness I was insistent on a test drive before they did anymore work which was unnecessary. read more

Went to Les Schwab and they gave me a quote of $360.00 for rear brakes only on my Jeep Compass. I read the Yelp reviews and decided to give them a call and see how much they would charge for rear brakes. I spoke with C. and he came in at $208.00 which is much better. I scheduled an appointment and dropped my Jeep off at noon and by 3:30 it was done. He gave me a ride home and back to the shop instead of waiting in the lobby for 3 hours. I can't recommend them enough. Very friendly staff and they did a great job. The customer service is outstanding and I will be going back to them. read more

Although I rarely take time to write reviews, we are long-time, loyal customers at this Brakes Plus location and finally decided to take time to give them the accolades due them. Years ago, we were loyal to another local auto service shop (incidentally, it was not a Brakes Plus) and we eventually discovered they had been taking advantage of us so we didn't even use the last two "free" oil changes that we had pre-purchased with them. That was when we found this Brakes Plus location. They already had good reviews, so we checked them out. We have always felt like they are trustworthy and have competitive prices -- and work gets done right the first time. After years of different vehicles with teenage drivers, we have never been disappointed when we have taken our business to Brakes Plus, but today they went beyond our expectation. My car had been making a strange sound that was difficult to explain, reproduce and eventually it was a challenge for Gene, Brandon, Justin & Mike (on Mike's day off!) -- to diagnose. After close to an hour of working on solving the mystery of what was happening with this car. Last fall, I had new tires put on my car and a sensor had come loose inside the tire. It would swirl around in the wheel quietly except when I was just taking off or coming to a stop. Then it would rattle against the inside of the wheel and make a metal on metal clunking sound. Sometimes it was a single "clunk" or a smaller "clink" sound. Sometimes it was several "clunks" together, and other times there was no sound at all! It sounded like I was rolling over a speed bump or over debris in the street so we thought there may be a problem in the tie rod, wheel bearings, or motor mount, etc? After trying to solve this mystery for close to an hour, the guys at Brakes Plus diagnosed the problem. They took the wheel off to spin it around and figured out what was happening. They recommended we take it back to the tire shop to replace the tire sensor and the best part was that they did not charge us a dime after helping us with this issue! We will continue to be loyal customers and would recommend anyone else to check them out if you are looking for honest, reliable, polite and skilled auto repair people. I had to get my brakes done and they were able to keep in contact with me while I was out of town, and have the job complete and my car ready to go when I got back. Mike is a professional! I have taken my vehicle to this location a few times for regular maintenance. It is the only place that I trust now. Mike is always upfront and honest. It is very hard to find an honest service spot. The quality of work and the treatment I experience will bring me back to this location for all of my needs. I am very surprised at the scope of services that are offered. Mike and crew have done everything from brakes and rotors, oil changes and most recently a enclosed headlight replacement. The dealership wanted $1,100 more than what Mike and the guys took care of it for. I appreciate them saving me that money! The special bulb had to be ordered, but they were able to get it the next day. Not only that, Mike knew that it is my birthday, and had my vehicle in and out of the shop quickly! Superior customer service and honest, down to earth good guys!! Bob Guzman makes you feel better when he takes his time to make sure the questions you've asked (even really stupid ones) get answered. He remembers customers that only came into his shop once, for a quick fix two years go by and not them but their husband comes back with a different car and tells Bob about his wife car, Bob finishes the guys story. The guy sits next to me, looking shocked by the Bobs recollection, says,"That is a nice man". Being a woman and having to go get your car fixed isn't something I wanted to go at alone for the simple fact men don't try to sell unnecessary services, parts and BS to other men nearly as much as they do women. I never was worried about being hassled or pressured into unnecessary repairs at Brakes Plus, never. Bob would take my 96 dodge stratus, look at the problems, well my concerns regarding the cars problems ( a 96 dodge- problems are expected). He would come over and sit down and tell me "If this was my car...." and tell me how he would deal with it, and then he would talk about the options to look at and never once did I second guess the repair or cost be cause it was never over and above. The last visit I had there was yesterday, 08-24-2011. I am moving to California to put my 96 dodge to pasture to spend it's last days out..no but I am driving it there and was concerned how much oil I'd be needing to bring with me considering the massive oil pools I have wherever I park. So, I called at 1030 told him to give the once over and the cost for r the repair on the leak issue and whatever other services he thought would be good before heading west. I was ready for the damage...he came over sat down and said"If this was my car I would buy enough oil to make it there and check it all the way over, and add as needed." I listened for the expensive part, " And?' I said, "What else, should I get a flush for the cooling system, or transmission?" Bob says "Nope it's an older car with high miles and its working still, sure you could do the flushes you mentioned but its not needed really the systems overall look fine. Honestly." When he told me that it was the first time I questioned it, any other shop in town would have done the opposite and tried to sell me sideways, because they have in the past. So women if you feel like a women when you take your car to a shop, go to Brakes Plus and have Bob Guzman help you he is awesome!, and considering he wouldn't ride shotgun with me to California as my roady mechanic.
