I had a unique problem: I went to a used tire shop, and they ended up damaging the lug nut on a tire I didn't even need to replace. My driver's side rear tire blew out one night, and the tow truck driver couldn't change it because of the damaged lug nut. Therefore, I had my vehicle towed to Discount Tire, which couldn't do anything and recommended I take it to Brake Masters. I had my car towed again to Brake Masters and spoke with Cassady at the front desk, who was pleasant. I also talked to the manager, Chris, who was equally delightful. This location was spotless, and I left and returned later. The mechanic replaced the lug nut, put on the spare tire, and charged me $65.51.I would return to this location in a heartbeat! read more

I chose Brake Masters because they offered appointments for oil changes, but the experience was extremely disappointing. I arrived at 8:50 AM for my 9:00 AM appointment and was told they were already running 45 minutes behind and that I had to leave my car there. I returned at 10:30 AM, then again at 11:30 AM, and my car still was not done. Waiting over 3 hours for a basic oil change is unacceptable, especially when I could clearly see my car sitting untouched for long periods of time. After finally completing the oil change, they told me I needed rear brakes and had a leaking CV axle, providing quotes totaling over $800. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion from Mr. Brake. Mr. Brake inspected the same items and told me my brakes are still at 70% and do not need replacement. They also confirmed the CV axle was in great condition with no leak at all. The only thing they noticed was a little oil underneath the car, likely spilled during the oil change. Otherwise, my car is in excellent shape. This experience honestly made me question whether they take advantage of customers -- especially women who may admittedly not know a lot about cars -- by recommending unnecessary repairs. A trustworthy shop would have simply said the brakes were wearing normally and should be checked again at my next service. Instead, I was pressured into over $800 of repairs I didn't actually need. I will not be returning and strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any major work from Brake Masters. Thankfully, Mr. Brake earned my trust and future business. read more

I've used them a couple times but now I can't recommend them. Simple task turned into a 6 hour issue. I brought my own oil, the service lady was very confused but got it added to the ticket. After an hour and a half, the Mechanic finished my oil change and said I'm good to go. Except the oil, filter, and drain plug I brought in were still in my car. Easy fix, they re did the oil change with my stuff and after a total of 2.5 hours I was done. Except I started noticing leaks in my drive way, brought it back on my day off, leaking from the drain plug, mechanic tried to tell me it was oil and heat, but it's A WEEK old. Drain my oil that I supplied, had to wait about 3 more hours to get the correct oil and replace the drain plug. Almost 6 hours to figure this out and barely got a "my bad". Poor customer service overall and won't be giving them any more business read more

I was recommended this place by Discount Tire after getting replacement tires. They said I was in need of an alignment which they told me if I go and say Discount Tire recommended me, it would only cost $49.99. I arrived on a Tuesday around 12:40 PM and saw only 1 other customer waiting. I talked to Joe, the man behind the counter who said it'd be about 20 minutes to bring my vehicle in, and then about 30 minutes to do the alignment. I said I would have no problem waiting. As of this review, 4 other people that came in after me have already had their vehicles done and it is now 2:50 PM, over 2 hours later. Just talked to Joe who said my vehicle is "on the rack" and after the alignment it should take no more than 30 minutes to complete. I'm giving them til 3:15 PM then I'm going to take this review from 4 to 2 stars. Quality or not, you don't tell someone who is willing to wait for a brief period of time that something will take less than an hour when it ends up being over 2 hours. I'm becoming convinced that this is one of those places where customers that pay full price get priority and anyone getting a discount gets shoved back for over 2 hours. They finished at 3:17 PM, with no "I do apologize" or "To compensate we decided to take off..." just a "Thanks for your patience". I will not be using again. read more

I went in for an oil change for my 1984 Mercedes w123. They overfilled my new oil about almost a quart seen in photo. This can be catastrophic for the engine so it's very important to get the level correct. I told the advisor but said it was correct. It sounded like he was just making it up as he went along. Calling to make an appointment was very straightforward and easy. Came in when I was scheduled, was greeted and checked in promptly. I dropped my car off and had my husband pick me up so I could relax at home while they serviced. I don't understand why anyone would wait in the building for them to be done. I knew I would get bored so I made arrangements I would recommend everyone do the same or go enjoy a meal at a restaurant near by maybe. They called me pretty shortly after my car diagnosis to let me know what they found. It matched up with what I had been assuming was wrong. They did recommend a couple other services which I felt was reasonable and made sense. I initially declined but after further convo I decided it was the right thing to do. My husband and I did some research online in regards to part pricing. The quote was right on par with what we were finding and the labor cost seemed fair. Couple hours later my car was done! My car feels better than it has in years and I felt happy to have peace of mind that extra measures were taken to prolong the life of my car/breaks. I would recommend them to my friends. read more

TL DR: Brake masters tried to scam me out of $300. Thanks Fransisco! I went here to get a quick oil change and nothing else. They called me prior to my oil change finishing, listing a myriad of things that need to be done to my car including a battery replacement since my battery seems to be low. I assure them I'll only need the oil change, but I appreciate them letting me know of other services I may need. They're insistent, but I refuse. Minutes after we end the initial phone call, they call again to let me know my car would not start and that the battery died. Convenient, right? They let me know to change the battery it'd cost $300. I ask how much it would cost if I brought in my own battery, and they said $50 for labor. Instead of agreeing to a service then & there, I pick my car up and drive it to the AutoZone right across the street to get my battery tested for free. They test it, and my battery is at 100%. Brake Masters tried to scam me out of $300, speaking condescendingly to me as well. Even when I was picking my car up, they asked again to see if I wanted my battery changed, and kept emphasizing that once I turn my car off, it won't turn back on. You're better off going to Walmart for a routine oil change. They'll get the job done and won't try to upsell you. read more

It's so hard to trust mechanics and repair shops. I decided to trust this Brake Masters location. I had a repair done and paid the invoice. Respectfully the repair was done. Upon looking at my charges I paid well over the price of the part, marked up 200% from average $100 to $281. That got me curious and I called around and inquired about the part price and the time for repair. The time I was quoted was 0.6 hours. I was billed for 2 hours. I estimate I was charged double what I should have been. I went to the shop thinking it was just a mistake. The manager was unhelpful at best. I escalated to the company where they offered me a free oil change from the person who ripped me off in the first place. Use caution and shop around. This place will take advantage of you. read more

Recently took our van in for a check engine light. We ended up needing a new cylinder head. They explained their shop didn't really take engines apart, but did install new- but that would be way more costly and silly to do. They gave me several options on how to proceed from the cheapest to most expensive and recommended a reputable motor shop to do the work. Originally used Brake Masters in Peoria, Arizona. THEY ARE GOOD. What a disappointment this particular Las Vegas location is. Between my daughter and I we have frequented this location several times and EVERY SINGLE TIME WITH AN APPOINTMENT, its a 2+ hour oil change. Absolutely ridiculous. The most recent time, i made my appointment for opening, thinking that would resolve my continuing complaint.. nope. Almost 3 hours with one additional customer. The employees behind the desk were busy chatting with sales rep and vaping. It finally took the shop employee to come in an slylu nod my way, only to have counter employee say he was waiting on my paperwork, to which the shop employee states, "i put it on the counter over 20 minutes ago" 3 tries and you are out in my book. Had an oil change here for $59, made an appointment the day before and I came in still waiting an hour for them to just pull in my car into the shop then another 2 hours for them to finish the job. Watched the mechanic talked for the majority of the 2 hours and working on other cars while the oil was finished draining. My experience at this auto shop was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Let me walk you through the series of events: Quote and Initial Work: I brought my car in for a radiator replacement, coolant flush, and oil change, which was initially quoted at $677. I agreed to the work. Unexpected Changes: The next day, I received a call saying my car was ready. Upon questioning what had been done, they mentioned a new radiator and coolant flush but forgot to do the oil change. They asked for another 30 minutes to complete it. Then, they informed me that they needed to replace the radiator hose, which would delay the completion until Monday. Final Bill Discrepancy: When Monday rolled around, I was told my car was ready again. However, the final bill was a staggering $1025, well beyond the initial quote. Despite my attempts to clarify the charges, I was met with confusion and unhelpfulness. Bolt and Safety Issue: After finally retrieving my car, I noticed a clunky sound and screeching noise coming from under the hood. Upon inspection, I was shocked to find that essential bolts were missing, including those securing the radiator, engine cover, and car undercover. This glaring oversight endangered my safety and left me in disbelief.Resolution: I had no choice but to return to the auto shop and have them put the missing bolts in place so I could safely drive my car. If you want a simple Oil Change regardless if you set an appointment and we're the first one in like as instructed to be at their doors at 7am before they open at 730am you will still NOT be seen! Great staff on the inside, Kind and friendly but No attentiveness to communicate any delays and 1hr later upon arrival to see that my car was never touched nor the attempt to contact me was made. I will not be returning to this place anymore because they failed to take fault of the problems they've caused. I've been taking my car there for oil changes for the past couple of years without any issues. I took my car in today for an oil change and was told that the threads for my oil pan have been stripped. I told the employee that I've only ever taken my car to this shop for maintenance and that nothing was mentioned previously in the past about stripped threads. This leads me to believe that whoever worked on my car in the past it their shop monkeyed on the drain plug too hard. Employee tells me that this is what a decade of "wear and tear" will do. I have a 2012 Toyota Camry with 53,000 miles on it. I told him that that is basically impossible because I have all the maintenance records on the car, ALL the oil changes being done at 6 month or 5,000-mile intervals. I did the math and that comes out to about 11 oil changes for the life of the car. You mean that you can strip out a metal oil pan within 11 oil changes, majority of the oil changes were done by you on the latter end of the car's life? I find that hard to believe unless you over torque the plug which is more than likely what happened. I've had cars with twice the mileage and age that are still running the original oil pan and plug. The employee then tells me that it's about 843 dollars to replace the pan. Aside from the oil pan issues, they also raised the prices of the oil change. I used to pay 60 dollars for a full synthetic oil change. I had a coupon that was supposed to bring down the price from 74.95 to 59.94 dollars. They charged me 95 dollars then brought it down to 78 with the coupon. When I asked why the price hike, they said that my oil filter had to be special ordered hence the price increase. One of the most common cars in the world must have its oil filter special ordered, sure man, sure. Tell me why when I look up the price of the specific filter you special ordered it costs double than what I found it for online. Employee also mentioned something about inflation to justify the price hike........... keep mind, the last time I was there was October of 2022 for an oil change when I paid 60 dollars. After all this is said and done, I am now taking my car to another shop who quoted me 600 for an oil pan replacement. Which is better than 843 but still hurts. Stay away from this shop. This is not a review of how I was treated but rather a review of the business establishment and their practices. Update: I emailed Brake Masters corporate and an area manager contacted me within a couple of hours. I was "compensated" via a check of 250 dollars for my hassles. I tried get the entirety of my oil pan fiasco comped but the most I got was 250. It costed me 600 to repair it.......guess it's better than nothing......still won't ever be returning. read more

Honest reviewer: This place is absolute trash. The people here act nice but then when I came back to get my car they charged about 90+ dollars. They had done something to my car as it never creaked while driving (my car is fairly new too). They want me to come back for them to fix my car again. Like wtf they had done something so they can get more money. One of my friends (them being a guy) had come here before just so he can drop off my car so he can go to work (he doesnt know much about cars) and it seemed fine it didn't creak and it didn't seem broken but now they had made my car creak so they make me pay another 100-200+ dollars. We brought my wife's car there to get her brakes, rotors and calipers done/ replaced. The car needed it badly considering the brakes grinded when she stopped. That was the ONLY issue with the car prior to us taking it there. When we picked it up and drove it over 50mph, the steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably. There was smoke coming from the wheel well as well. The car rode PERFECTLY SMOOTH prior to us getting the car repaired there. We told them and took the car back so they could fix whatever they messed up. Do you think they did? No. They denied having anything to do with what was wrong and refused to fix it. Make it make sense. It was fine before they touched it, but they gave us back a death trap. So now we have to come out of pocket AGAIN to fix whatever they messed up. This place is a SCAM. I felt good about going here at first, because they gave me a good deal on my Oil Change for my Lexus. So we took my son's 2014 Hyundai Elantra in for diagnostic because it was misfiring and idling high, also struggling to power especially at high speeds. After the $80 diagnostic, it was found to be his 1st fuel injector. I suggested they replace all four as I know that when one goes, the others don't take long to follow. These people quoted me $1500 to complete the job of replacing the injectors. I asked why it costs so much as their quote sheet has no breakdown, it literally just says "replace fuel injector". The guy says it's really a deal. I asked how so for a 15 minute job (ok, I exaggerated a bit... but on Elantra the fuel squirt guns sit right on top of the engine... so it really does not take more than an hour)... I'm a female, so the guy decides to "educate" me... he explains to me... the job will take at least an hour and a half to complete and that each injector would cost $320.... I got instantly upset. Because I had enough brain RAM and function to call auto zone on my way over to retrieve the car and the fuel injectors were $122 (new) and $68 (rebuilt)... so I couldn't understand where he was buying this formula 1, super fuel injector that he obviously was trying to put into this Elantra... but I didn't want that one.. I just wanted some regular fuel injectors. The guy was smug about it and said "well, we don't get our parts from Auto Zone" to which I replied, "maybe you should if they cost double with mechanic discounts." Anyway.... We called a mobile mechanic and he quoted me $766 to complete the same job. Which I would have paid, but he couldn't complete the job until the weekend and I needed the car sooner so that my baby could get back and forth to school and work. Funny. We actually ended up just going to auto zone and getting the fuel injectors and my son put them in himself.... AND For my own entertainment, I timed the boy, to see if it would take the whole hour and half that brake master said it would take... it took an entire 36 minutes. Then we drove it for 20 minutes, it rides like a cloud. So all I can say is... I would not go to brake masters for anything other than oil changes. Because anything that requires a part is gonna cost you double the cost of the part and double the labor time... by their own admission. I'm still upset, because this place is so close to my house and I wanted my front brakes changed this week and now I have to find somewhere else to take it to, so that my brake job doesn't end up costing me $1.000. They suck. They're over priced. And one of them has a slick, smug attitude and is strongly unprofessional. Don't waste your time or money here. I'll give it 1 star, because they didn't have a single typo on the fictitious quote served to me. read more

Today, I took my car in to the dealership to some routine maintenance, and I found out that Brake Masters did such a hack job of an oil change, that they had to basically TAKE THE WHOLE ENGINE APART TO UNDO THE DAMAGE THEY DID!!!!!!! Well, today I decided to bring MY car back to the same location and was hoping to find the same nice gentleman at the counter, but instead I was greeted by a woman name Jaquwho wasn't as kind. After providing my car information to her, she wrote down and quoted me $84.99! She handed me the sheet without explaining anything and was hoping that I wouldn't look and will just sign away. Mind you my car and my wife's car are the exact same year, make and model. In fact her car has even higher mileage than my car! And she tried to rip me off, probably to pocket some money on the side. When I asked her why she is charging me $84.99 when online it says $49.99 AND just last week I took it in for service at $49.99 she rudely yelled at me " ALL YOU HAVE TO DO WAS MENTION IT!!" I don't know why Brake Master hired this lady but she is the person that will ruin this place reputation! Do not get your car serviced here! I went in for a simple oil change. Got home to a horrible mess. Oil was leaking from the pan everywhere it was as if they did not remove the pan and drained the oil with it on. They also wanted to sell me parts that were just previously replaced less than six months ago!
