The girls pulled out all the stops with tributes to the Hobbit, Never Ending Story, The Wizard of Oz and Highlander. There were appearances by mermaids, dragons and a brilliant Little Red Riding Hood. I've seen The Hollywood Jane Revue in the past, and I'm amazed at how these girls can put a risqué twist on so many different themes, like Spies, Comic-Con, Animation, Star Trek vs. Star Wars, Back to the Future, Duets, Rocky Horror and Dirty Dancing. While some of the dancers have a little more spark than others, you can tell they all are having a great time and doing everything they can to make sure the audience is too. Leave the kiddies at home for this one.

I think they did an excellent job of telling the story using a very minimalist stage set. It made it easier to focus on the individuals onstage, and it set the right mood with innovative lighting. The cast was excellent. Especially the narrator - "El Pachuco". Well done. I'd see it again.

I saw The Crucible in this stunningly large, 400 seat capacity theater here a few years ago. At 10 bucks, if there is something you want to see, then never hesitate at that price. The lighting there as well is very dramatic and very realistic to the scenes that played out on stage. I remember it being so life like and the props were all done with precision and character. Parking is close by the theatre building so as long as you find the building you will have a short walk ahead of you.

It had been a while since I went to a comedy club, and met with an old friend that had never been to one. This one was very disappointing, and I'm sure they knew it. It was such a great experience that I continued to stay in touch with the organizer (Chantel) so I could attend future events. They have since expanded into more wild and imaginative costumes and themes--I absolutely love the mermaids! How beautiful and unique! I have never been disappointed, and will always be a fan! A couple of the better shows I attended included the Moonshine Jamboree, a period-costumed dinner party with a variety of live bands and cirque-style performances; and Love & Sexetera, a sexy, sultry series of acrobatic vignettes based upon various sex-related situations (sans the actual sex acts). The shows seem to be well produced and I always have a great time. I would guess that the circus talent that ETM books out is top-notch as well.

Everyone but drunks will love Circus Vargas…read more They don't serve beer, and there were NO animals, which is okay considering a) the animals usually seem depressed, beaten, or sick; and b) there was considerably less animal feces smell. Basically it was all Stupid Human Tricks. Half of it was the kind of stuff you'd see on the Venice Boardwalk, but here you didn't have to avoid eye contact or run away when the collection bucket came around. The acrobatics in the sky weren't too amazing for adults (basic stuff, especially considering what the kind of flips I myself can do in Tekken 3), but the surprise twist on the classic motorcycle ball was exciting, and the gymnastic work showed so much stamina and strength (both in solo artists and the group of pirates who became a reverse human pyramid) it made you think "Whoa, I could never do that!" and "Ouch!" The guy balancing things on his chin was pretty cool, and the most thrilling was the guy in the rotating hamster wheel thing. He ate his babies, too, which was weird. (not really) I think the most applause went to the Asian dude who looked like the guy who electrocutes Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon I. He did this crazy spinning clickety-clacky percussion thing with highspeed clacker balls, and was inches away from being a featured Americas Funniest Home Nutcracks. Thankfully there weren't a bunch of annoying clowns- just one, a silent one with a whistle, who did a few acts with audience participation. His acts were crowd-pleasing. And by crowd pleasing I mean there were no bony elephants coughing on us. By the way, Bony Elephants Coughing are playing Coachella 2017. Anyway, nothing was really lame, although the six bulging (in more ways than one) pirates made me uncomfortable because they chased one girl around making me think, "University of Virginia: the Musical". I thought the production values were pretty cool, particularly the Candyman in Glasses ringmaster who retreated to a Sheila E type percussion module, technically never leaving stage. For the price of a 3D movie, I think it's a really good value, and you don't need the glasses. A bonus was the chance to pose with a big boa snake at intermission for $10 (you buy one AND you can take your own). Or for $5 you can pose with me- basically the same thing.

In my humble opinion, I thought it was like going to a bad high school talent show…read more The actors/performers were all very average, although Cameron stood out over everyone simply because he was able to convey joke-esque material without completely needing to degrade himself. Danny was just straight up bad. Robert shows promise. My largest complaint should not be about the actors, rather that I needed to pay $7.00 to get into this train wreck. This was a very amateur group of performers making bad turns collectively. The format was based upon old school improv games, which can always be fun, but these guys just had no rhythm with the jokes or with any of the punch lines making each game excruciating to get through. Bad transitions between games. Fluidity between actors was compromised a number of times based solely on the fact that they all must have met just before they went on stage. Please, do yourself a favor and do not watch this group unless they have better actors, better games, better JOKES, and just a little-bit-a rhythm.
