Springs Mountain Periodontics is small and their staff is friendly, but follow through is not good…read more After doing a deep root scaling and cleaning on both sides of my mouth, it didn't work as well as he wanted. His office manager was supposed to check with my insurance for coverage and we were supposed to follow us by the end of August. By September, I still hadn't heard anything. By this point, I was getting mobility in one of my teeth. She told me that my insurance wasn't covering everything and she would follow up. By October, I still hadn't heard anything so I called again. I spoke with Dr. Norris this time and he basically told me they still didn't know anything further. He said my insurance was covering the guided tissue regeneration but not the bone growth treatment and that I should follow up and see if we could proceed with the guided tissue regeneration without the bone growth. In Nov, I started having pain in my throat and had some blood work run which came back with a high wbc count. I called to ask them what was next as I was very concerned nothing was being done. In Jan, I have never heard back from them. With my new periodontist, I found out there were much more thorough cleanings that could have been done initially. They have done the work for me of clearing my insurance and they charge significantly less. In addition, Springs Mountain Periodontist has limited hrs only being open Mon- Wed. Maybe this is what makes follow up work hard for them

My last experience was so traumatizing that I just gave up. Everyone was so soft and welcoming. Even after having an anxiety attack a few minutes in, everyone just stepped back and reassured me. They went at my pace and not once did they make me feel ashamed. Slowly and steadily they got things done and I walked out with a spring in my step knowing I was in good hands.
