THIS PLACE RUINED MY LIFE! In 2016, i was a 18 year old…read moresenior at this school. Shortly before finals my bus driver reported to administration that i smelled like cigarettes apparently. So upon arriving at school i was yanked off the bus before all the other kids and brought into the office where i was subsequently searched like a criminal. After nothing was found they still proceeded to suspend me for 10 days (during finals). It wasn't until THE DAY OF finals i got a call from the school asking me to come in to take the tests which i couldn't do because i had no way of getting there. 4 weeks before school ended they called me into the office and informed me i wasn't going to be graduating and when i asked about summer school or anyway to obtain enough credits i was told they didn't offer that and i would need to figure it out myself. Long story short this cost me my diploma. I never walked the stage or went to Prom. Im still not sure how it's even legal to suspend a legal age adult for just smelling like cigarettes! I didn't even bring a lighter or any paraphernalia onto school property! Do yourself and your child big favor and don't let them go to the school. Between the unprofessional teachers and administration and the gang activity I'd highly recommend you stay far away from this place. If they don't like you, they will find a reason to make you fail. I've been haunted by this place ever since I went there. And I was honestly shocked to see that they are still in operation. This place should be shut down. It has ruined mine and so many others lives. Because of what they did to me, I was forced to get a GED fat in certain states is not even recognized even though it is an accredited program. So I can't even work in a prison as a correctional officer or even be a lowlife mall cop. Thanks Palmetto for ruining my life.

You might be thinking, "every school is what you make of it and I will make this great even though reviews are horrible in almost every location." You are wrong. You will be treated like a high school student with dress codes and immature co-students. Any student who requires one intense class of intensity at a time and thinks this is acceptable for licensing for medical is immature and out of touch with reality. Life requires multitasking. Medical practice requires multitasking. Passing the board requires much more information than the school can provide. Their answer? They have someone come in at the end and teach you how to take the test, nothing more. You will pay $10,000 for the first months and find out that you cannot withdraw and cannot get your money returned after you discover the teachers are buffoons.

Disclaimer: my criticism is directed entirely towards the dining hall…read more It is incredibly rare that i have a decent experience while dining here. I have fallen victim to food poisoning multiple times, options are slim, and it is very dirty. i once witnessed a worker wiping counter tops off with a dirty rag and then proceeding to wipe the top of a "clean" plate off with the same rag. if you must eat here, don't think too much about where your food comes from. additionally, the menu is brief and repetitive. it is difficult to find a healthy option and if you do, it takes a bit of innovation with the low quality ingredients you are given. the food that is served is insanely greasy and flavors are minimal. with the new dining hall just having opened, i certainly got my hopes up. i was very much let down. if anything, it is worse. the setup is entirely unplanned and inconvenient and while it looks there are more options, do not let that fool you. they omitted the waffle bar (a fan favorite) and they tend to falsely advertise the cereal. they always run out of necessities and fail to replace them. food is either undercooked or incredibly dry. they scam you by forcing you to be a part of the meal plan if you live on campus housing (at least your first year). this must be stopped. food is inedible and you will be spending your money on food elsewhere. we must take a stand against this. who's with me?

Manatee Community College (Now State College of Florida) hasn't been the most amazing experience…read morefor me. I guess it's just your average community college. It seems as if a majority of the "professors" aren't that good. So you have to really utilize ratemyprofessor.com and talking to people to find the good professors. The administrative staff is very difficult to deal with as well. It seems as if the student is the one that always ends up having to do the job of the person that is supposed to help you. So when I applied to University of South Florida, it was a blessing to see people actually doing their jobs. In terms of service, I would give this school 0 stars but it's worth the frustraition if you want to save some money. Just try and get out of there ASAP because I've been there 4 years and I am just about done. I have been lucky enough to have good teachers to help me get this far though.
