DD participant - project workshop…read more The workshop was held in downtown Davis inside the Historic City Hall which is now a restaurant, Bistro 33. The workshop was conducted by DUI Attorney, Denis White Jr and his law firm. Participants were provided alcoholic drinks of their choice (x5) and conducted breathalyzer per each round. The results were recorded on paper. It didn't take much for some of the participants to go over the limit and be considered DUI. The drinks that were chosen were Moscow Mule, Mint Mojito, Rum & Coke, Blue Moon Beer, and Midori Sour. The five participants were made to guess how drunk they are after each drink and then blow in a breathalyzer to see how drunk they really are. The project was filmed and will be available in YouTube after editing. What a fun group! So much laughter all around. Of course, these things aren't funny in the real world if you drink and drive. Atty Denis gave some interesting scenarios and tips and lessons to the group. Of course, as the participants progress to each drink (they have to complete 5) the group got louder and sometimes boisterous and profanity started bouncing off the walls and you can really tell the effects of the alcohol in each of them. They also had to take a field sobriety tests and not sure how many of them passed. I know my hubby didn't. This certainly was a wake-up call to all of them. Appetizer food was provided and they were all delicious! We all had a great time. Joann and I were designated drivers to our +1's. Remember, drinking and driving is a no-no but if you need an attorney, call on Denis White and his law firm to represent you.
